I spent hours standing in the crowd to experience one of the most incredible ethnic parades I’ve ever seen in China.

During the Water Splashing Festival in Xishuangbanna, thousands of people filled the streets for a massive celebration featuring traditional dances, colorful costumes, music, performers, and ethnic culture from across the region.

This isn’t a staged tourist show.
This is what it actually feels like to stand inside the parade crowd in China.

From fighting for a good filming spot to watching police control the growing crowds, the entire experience felt chaotic, immersive, and unforgettable.
