On April 28, 2026, I witnessed the imperial carriage procession for the newly appointed Tanzanian Ambassador presenting his credentials to the Emperor of Japan at Tokyo’s Imperial Palace East Gardens.

On April 28, 2026, at Tokyo’s Imperial Palace East Gardens, we unexpectedly encountered the imperial horse-drawn carriage procession escorting the newly appointed Ambassador of Tanzania to present credentials to the Emperor of Japan. Accompanied by mounted police and ceremonial guards, the elegant imperial carriage beautifully showcased Japan’s long-standing imperial traditions and diplomatic ceremony.
