Located in the city of Dublin, St. Patricks Cathedral was originally built in 1191 and it is the largest cathedral in Ireland. As David mentions, in the year 1860 Sir Benjamin Lee Guinness donated one hundred and fifty thousand pounds of his own money to pay for a restoration of the cathedral, and today that would be equivalent to about 14 million Euros. Now the Cathedral is going through another phase of restoration and it continues to be one of the most treasured historical sites in all of Ireland.
