This Brick House Breathes Through Its Walls

G

This house looks almost closed from the outside, but its brick walls are not solid - they breathe.

Nhà Bè House, by Tropical Space, uses a porous ceramic brick envelope to filter sunlight, protect privacy, and allow air to move through the home.

Built for a family of four sisters and their mother in Vietnam, the house is organized around gardens, a central void, and natural ventilation.

The result is a tropical house that feels protected, shaded, and deeply connected to family life. But this solution also comes with a trade-off. The brick skin creates privacy and comfort… while making the interiors darker and more introspective.
