English Longbow Warbow Traditional Archery We Happy Few An Evening with Mercia Bowmen
We Happy Few. An Evening with Mercia Bowmen. English Longbow & Warbow Traditional Archery. I join the Mercia Bowmen for an evening of longbow clout/rove archery, the challenge of landing an arrow as close to a distant mark as possible - an ancient type of artillery practise in use since the 16th century using powerful wooden bows.
The archers: Phil Kearey, Steve Djurovich, Gareth Luke Adams, Nick Francis Wilson Keogh, Malcolm Stuart, Gary Williamson & Mick Grewcock.
By kind permission of landowners Mr Guy Mansfield and Mr Willie Hallifield. Very many thanks from Mr Gary Williamson and all those present for giving access to your land on such a beautiful evening.
With thanks to Gary Williamson for bringing us all together for a very special evening of summertime archery.
And a big thank you to all for your fellowship that evening.
"We Few, We Happy Few, We Band of Brothers" are words from William Shakespeare's play Henry V and are taken from the famous speech given by Henry V on the field of Agincourt prior to that legendary battl
