Although hair clippers have become ubiquitous in all barbershops and salons the world over, there is still a romantic edge to traditional scissor cuts. We would never seek to do away with their electricity powered cousins, but we think shears deserve their day in the sun this summer. Here are seven of our favorite tasteful trims. Just as how you would need different tools for different occasions, you also need different pairs of professional hairdressing scissors depending on the type of haircut. Not all hairdressing tools are the same. They are designed with different materials and features to help you achieve the desired hairstyle with professional results every single time. Let’s check out the different types of scissors that we offer for popular haircutting techniques!
THINNING AND TEXTURISING
As a hairdresser, you will probably encounter a lot of clients with thick and coarse hair that request to thin and texturise their hair. Using your normal tool to cut voluminous hair is a no-go. You’ll need professional hairdressing thinners that are specifically designed for texturising.
Thinner scissors usually have teeth or notches on one side, while the other side is a smooth blade. Using thinners ensure that there is less damage for the hair compared to using razors to thin out the hair. We offer a wide range of thinning and texturizing scissors which are designed to give you a clean and precise haircut every time thanks to the premium grade steel.
What's your vision?
I'm liking the keep and the top.
What are you doing?
Is that the high taper again?
Yeah.
I'm just going to keep the top for now.
Especially since it's winter.
Guys, high taper.
Start with combing the hair out.
Just keeping the top.
Let's comb the hair out like this.
Watch, super simple cut to do.
Super easy.
Are you going to have yours parted to the side
and combing to the side?
Or just kind of free flowing into the side?
Yeah.
I can do that.
Guys, when you're free flowing, this is something else that's happening.
Instead of parting it and having it like that,
it's able to just be like that.
Instead of going with the two,
even though we're going to make it a high,
I would just soften it with the three.
Just saying,
when you come over here and you soften it
with this three,
you just soften it with that three.
Just to start off,
just get that softened with the three.
How I do that is
I'm pushing, but I'm kind of lifting.
Then I'll push
and I'll kind of lift where it needs to be.
If I just come here, it'll dig like a hole
in the side of the hair.
You just come around and do that.
It's that easy.
You guys don't see much happening,
but what I'm working on really
is that crown.
I'm just softening it, prepping it for the cut
I'm going to do.
Instead of just jumping into the cut on this one,
I'm going to prep it.
Just a three.
Any clippers work, too.
It doesn't matter which ones they are.
See, you guys?
I just softened it with that.
It's really busy.
It's crazy.
When I booked it,
I was like, I'm not sure if it's good or not.
Oh yeah, I got your message.
I messaged you right away.
Either way, you're always in.
I saw that it was on there.
And I'm glad you called
just to make sure it was here.
Yeah, I was like, I think I did,
but I don't know if it's going to show up.
Yeah, no, I looked right away.
It's nothing for me to worry about.
Yeah, it's starting to,
you know, it's like, damn, it's busy.
It's been busy,
but it's, I don't know, it's hard to explain.
It's never slowed, like, at all.
Yeah.
It's been like that, too, but it's like,
I guess what I trip out on is that it continues
to go like that.
Yeah, that's good.
Guys, I blend where I want to blend.
I don't have to have it under
any particular conditions.
It's where, you know,
when he says he wants it low, mid, or high,
I put it in that section.
But as far as catching my blend,
I can blend, you know,
with the corners, and I can catch
a custom blend.
And that's kind of the, you know, what you see me doing
now. This is just getting it started.
I can show you how I do this.
And then you'll see how it all connects.
See, guys, it's just as easy
as that.
Taking the corner of this
all the way down and going like that,
picking it up one,
and just kind of fuzzing
it out.
You guys, I'm going to blend
all that in. What I'm going to do
first is catch this one.
Hey, guys, watch this.
Watch world's spookiest statement.
Doing a haircut
and then going back and polishing that haircut
and turning it into
something more magnificent
than just a haircut is
another
little secret.
Hey, that happened to me once.
You know how I really got good at cutting?
Like, another good additive to
the cutting of the hair is
I've had
haircuts before when I had hair, and it's like
some pulls are, like, cool.
Or, like, you know, rub hard with the clippers.
Like, damn, that ---- bugs.
But then I felt one homie that did it
with, like, the guards. It was real smooth.
And so I was, like, wanted to mimic that.
Why, does any of it, like, hurt at all, like,
with the clippers?
Alright, sick. Yeah, because I've always tried to
mimic that exact homie that was, like,
20 years ago. Just because he was
fired.
Appreciate it, man.
Thank you.
