Study biotechnology at Griffith University

Here at Crefus University they will be involved in cutting-edge research and development across the sustainable bioeconomy concept. There will be a direct involvement, they will work on research projects that will contribute to develop these solutions. Because it takes the scientific knowledge to an application level and it embraces different areas ranging from molecular biology, microbiology, plant biology and tech development. So it's actually different from other science courses. We are doing a practical laboratory experience. So biotechnology is an exciting discipline which incorporates multiple different research areas and also involves business, commercial activities and even patent law. The facilities are state-of-the-art so we have labs which are designed for basic science and discovery and then we have labs where we can take those discoveries and then translate them into real technology, into real products. The program will provide you with different directions. The student needs to make a decision what is the direction they prefer over other directions. Australia is strongly moving forward in biotechnology and there are clear decisions being made by the government that these disciplines are to be increasingly funded. I'm getting into my ambition. It's like I'm really excited to do this project. I'm excited about the complexity, the networks within biological systems and what they actually can do. What nature can provide in terms of all these technologies which we just need to harness.
