There's...oh, Wes knocked my phone out of my hand. Hey sister.
I don't think you want to use the halter because, um, it's got some poo on it.
Are you gonna jump down?
Good girl. There you go. Hey y'all. Good morning.
Uh, starting the morning off a little different. We're actually...
we're fixing to head back to the vet. Hopefully,
not a big issue, um, but the other day, uh, well,
a couple days ago, yesterday. No, it was two days ago.
I was down here with the babies and I noticed on Jessie
that she had some balding spots. Just some patches where her hair's coming out.
And so, immediately text the vet and, um, we're...we got her in
two days later. Yeah, she...she knows something's up.
So, um, we're gonna go have her checked out and see what...what that could be.
Uh, guys, I feel like it is always something. But, um,
Daniel is gone and, uh, him and Houston are actually leaving today, uh, to go
to this long rifle shooting school in Texas. And so,
it's all me and Weston today. So, let's see what we find out. Morning, girls.
Jessie, you ready? Hmm? You ready? We're gonna go.
Baby, if I can get this open.
Uh-uh, uh-uh, little dude. Well, I said Daniel was gone, but he hadn't left yet.
He's helping me.
She's not wanting to move.
She's being what she is.
Brakes work. Yeah, her brakes definitely work.
Come on. There you go. Just gotta give to the pressure.
Good girl. Gotta give in to the pressure. Not your day, RJ.
I don't want to have to pick you up.
She said, no thanks, Dad. See, she's got just a few little spots,
and it looks like she's rubbing it. Well, it's definitely
getting worse. Yeah, it is. So, come on, Jessie.
One big jump. Ready? One, two, three. Oh, good job.
Oh, this is, we're back on the donkey crossfit.
Is that what it is? Yep.
All right, see you in a bit. Yeah, she started rubbing. All right, so it
could be an external parasite. I'm gonna treat her with some
ivermectin to make sure that there's no parasite
problem, because that'll get any external parasites on the skin.
Okay. And any lice, we're going to put a little bit of ivermectin down her back
just to make sure there's no anything else going on there.
Okay, do you think we need to do anything different for
like the baby alpacas with her? Yeah, you probably need to take them to
the vet. Okay.
I'm going to go ahead and vaccinate her because she's not been vaccinated for 10
months or anything. Okay. Oh, it's so windy and cold. Oh my gosh.
Yeah, see? Yeah, that wasn't there yesterday. I'm going to give her a
steroid shot too. That'll help her quit itching. Okay, perfect.
Hey guys, we're back. Everybody's curious. I think someone's new.
It's nobody new. Nope, no one new.
Just baby Jessie. Got her some meds and she's good to go.
Okay, open the gate. I need a net. You already had one.
Waiting on the vet appointment. Okay, you pull that.
Pull that open. I didn't even work this, Jenna. Just pull that open.
It gets kind of hung. Like that? It just needs to go that way. Don't smash
your thumb. There you go.
There's, oh, Wes knocked my phone out of my hand. Hey, sister.
I don't think you want to use the halter because it's got some poo on it.
Are you gonna jump down?
Good girl. There you go. Atta girl. We're gonna leave the halter on
her for a little while today. Go. You gotta go.
There you go. Okay, so she's back. You back. No, RJ. Quit jumping on her.
That's not who you breed. It's not time for that.
Well, we got Jessie squared away. Got in, added some lunch and
see this little treat right here? This is for Bear.
Gemma and Earl already got theirs. Plantic Meds.
Some of these are pricey. Pretty pricey, but totally worth it
because they work and they last a very long time. Don't they, buddy?
Hey, bud. I got a treat for you. Don't spit it out.
Oh, Bear. What are we gonna do? I need you to eat
that, buddy. That's good stuff. So much for tricking
you. Please get it. Come on.
Come on. Don't spit it out. Don't spit it out.
Oh, that's a lot of money. Am I gonna have to make you eat it?
I will. Really? Bear, come get this. Bear,
why are you being a turd? Come on. Come get this.
Okay, can we try it again? Oh my gosh, my hair.
The sun is making my curls shimmer. Maybe if we turn? I don't think
that's gonna help. Oh, maybe that helps. Well, I got the meds
and Bear wasn't pretty. I had to sit on him,
but I didn't hurt him, guys. I just made him chew it
and he did just fine. Hey, goats. All right, well,
I guess I'm gonna, I'm gonna feed and then I'm gonna head to softball
because, you know, that's what I do. Eat now, buddy. Here you go. Good boy.
Oh, you're gonna show me your teeth, huh? Huh?
No? I missed you. Oh, he did not want them bothering him.
Well, they also like to eat his food, so I don't blame you, buddy.
All right, goats. Your turn's coming right up.
Goats are fed, or at least these goats. Now we gotta feed the babies. We've got
some pretty eggs. Snatch those up.
I think Justy's getting tired of RJ jumping on her. I just saw her nibbling
at his feet. Let's see if she does it again. That's
probably why he stepped back like that. Oh, did you get distracted by me, huh?
Hey, sister. Those aren't yours. Well, I mean, maybe they are. I just moved
them. How you doing? You hungry? Here you go.
Oh, you stink, bro, and you just rubbed all over me.
What's up, Care Bear? That's how I move when I get up in the
My helper don't have on the right shoes, so
That's all right. Are you dirty? No, I'll go in. I got my boots on. I don't
mind. I can wash them. I'll have you wash them.
Oh, yeah. Oh, don't go for it. Do you see the alpacas kicking?
What's up, Ralph? They got bowls scattered way
down there.
Falun's running along right beside him.
There goes Phoebe.
Yeah, just right over it on top of that.
Really? Oh, my gosh. All right, y'all's turn.
Falun, get this dadgum gate shut. Left-handed.
There we go. Hey, babe. What is it? You come to harass me again?
Oh, they do still got feed. Daniel wants to
fed this morning. Okay, that's fine. That's dirty.
No, they picked out the corn. That's what they do. Really?
Yes. Why? Because they love it. That's their favorite.
Jesse, what is it, babe?
That's good.
Hey, stop jumping on her. No, no. No. Yeah, so I talked to the vet about
if we needed to move RJ in with the bro pin over there
because he is trying to, you know, jump up on
Jesse, but she said it's really dangerous
to put multiple intact alpaca males together.
So, we're not going to do that yet. Jesse will just have to keep nibbling at
him. Hey, hey, quit. RJ,
no, no, no. You're not old enough for that.
No, no. Oh, my gosh. She'll get enough of him and
kick at him. I saw you trying to escape. Yeah, you were
trying to follow him. Mm-hmm. How come?
Why are you such a handful? Yeah, eating my hair, jumping up on me.
Uh-oh. Who's getting it? You're being a little curious thing today,
aren't you? What is it? Huh? Don't you jump on me.
I think I'm gonna get a horse. I think no.
Why? No. I'm not keeping it.
Okay, so I don't know how clear the video was, the sound was earlier when
we were at the vet. It was very, very windy,
and I tried to get down in the trailer so y'all could hear, but I don't know
if you were able to hear it very well, but
Dr. Green did say that Jessie probably has some kind of parasite.
She thought maybe lice, but she didn't see any.
So she went ahead and treated her for that. She gave her a steroid because it
looks like she's rubbed it from itching, and she gave her all her
vaccinations. So she got tetanus and included in that is like for West
Nile, and she rattled off a whole bunch of
others. So it covers everything, so she should be good to go. I was
actually afraid that with the hair loss, because she did have some of that
last year, that was probably due to the plasma transfer.
I was afraid that it had something to do with that,
but she said she didn't think it did, so that's great news.
Other than that, she's doing, she's doing really well.
She's playful as usual, no other issues, and yeah, so she's good to go. Dr. Green
did give us some medicine. Oh, she actually put the Ivermac down
her back and said that if we noticed anything
with RJ, to do the same for him. So she gave us
medicine for him as well. So yeah, everyone's doing good here.
Yeah, busy, busy week. Emily's got like
eight softball games this week. So yeah, I'm already tired,
but you know, it is the job, and I love it,
and I wouldn't trade it for anything. So now
I need a song. Song of the video is going to be
Walking Along the Fence Line by Wade Bowen.
It's a great song. He's a really great artist, but
he never really got very big. Just kind of one of those red dirt
country music artists, and he's got some really good stuff.
I believe he's from Texas. That's where most of them come from,
but you know, it's good. It's good stuff. So y'all go listen to that Walking Along
the Fence Line. One of my favorites. We actually thought
about naming Houston Bowen when I was pregnant with
him, because I liked Wade Bowen so much, but when you said
Bowen with arms, it doesn't sound real good.
So we nixed that. But anyway, y'all go check out that video,
or check out that song. I hope you guys... I'm having
trouble speaking. Good grief. Hope you guys enjoyed the
video. Dang rooster. And as always, do your best.
Before I forget, restocked RJ and Rufus t-shirts are back
on, and so are the v-necks. By the time you see this video, they will
be on the website. Newly placed, restocked, ready to go.
So y'all go get you some new ones if you missed out.
