This response is for @tskaggs on twitter. He wants to do a 45 day trip and he asked me what I think would be a good option. I told him that he should be based out of Belgrade, Serbia and visit the rest of the country and the other countries that surround Serbia like (Croatia, Bosnia, Kosovo, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Macedonia and Albania) These are the cities that I think he should visit!
Tim I hope you enjoy this response and if anyone has any question please let me know. David

Hello, everyone. Today's message is for Tim Tskags on Twitter. He's going to go 45 days
somewhere in the world, and he wants to go somewhere where he can have a base and travel
around the country or countries in the area. So I was suggesting to him to go to the Balkans,
Serbia, probably have his base in Belgrade, and then he can travel to Romania, Bulgaria,
Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Greece. I mean, you have all these
countries around Serbia, and they're very short distances, so train or car is perfect.
All right, so this is what I would suggest, all right? Here we go. Okay, Belgrade. I think you
should rent an apartment in the center, and this is the website, prodamsam.com. You can rent a
place right in the center of the Stari Grad, which is, Stari Grad is the center of Belgrade.
It's the old town. That's where I think you should rent just a small studio. I think that's
all you need. It's probably around like 400 or around there, 400 euros a month. So for 45 days,
it'd probably be like, I don't know, 600, 650 euros, around that. So this is the website. So
you have it, and this is what I think you should do, okay? You have 45 days, so you have a lot of
time. You should go. So you're in Belgrade. Here, you can have your base, and this is an amazing
city. I haven't been yet, but a lot of people tell me it's incredible. It is the Paris of the Balkans.
So you have Novi Sad, which is a must. You have Nis, which is a must down here. You have Sarajevo,
which is a must. Mostar, this is incredible. They have a bridge that people jump off.
It's something out of this world. You have to go see that. And you have Dubrovnik down here,
split down here. You have Zadar right here, Radjika. You have Zagreb. Then you have, if you
go a little north, you have Budapest right here. You have Pecs right here, which is a must. You
have the Balaton, which is the biggest lake in Hungary. Then you can go over here to Romania,
to Cluj. You have Bucharest. Then you have Constanta over here. You have Bulgaria right
here, and you have Sofia, Burgas, Varna. These are the main cities, but there's a lot of other
towns that you should see in this area. You have Skopje. You have Pristina, which is in Kosovo.
Right here, Botala and Orid. These are two other spots that I suggest in Macedonia.
You can also go into Albania, which is right here. Traveling-wise, I think you should just
take overnight trains or just take, I mean, the trains, the distances aren't so far, but if you're
going to go down into Macedonia or you're going to go over to Zagreb or over to Romania, Bulgaria,
I think you should take overnight trains. This is probably the easiest way to get around,
okay? And you won't waste time because the overnight train, you'll just have the night,
you'll just sleep the night on the train and then get there and be ready to go. And you could rent,
you could probably stay in a hostel in these places. You're traveling alone, so I think it's
a good idea. You could also check out couch surfers so you could save money and stay at
people's places. Everybody in this region is very awesome. This region is pretty misunderstood
because of the wars they had in the 90s, but this region is incredible. It's a must
if you're going to be based out of somewhere, this is the place to be. And it's not so expensive,
so you could travel around, food isn't so expensive, great nightlife in all these cities,
amazing things to see. This is where the Ottoman Empire ruled for a few hundred years,
so it's very interesting. And especially in Sarajevo, this is a mix of cultures.
Man, I personally, if I had the chance, I would do it here in Belgrade and I would travel to all
these different locations. There's also, if you go here, if you put photos, right,
and you start seeing photos, here, where are the pictures? See all the pictures start coming up?
And you could start seeing all the different things that you could see in this area.
And I know that this right here, you see this? This is insane. They carved this, I think it's
king from Serbia, they carved his face into a mountain on the Danube, on the river crossing
into Romania. So this is pretty cool. I mean, see, this is the best way to see the region,
or to learn what you might want to see. So just zoom in, you can keep seeing more and more and
more. But Belgrade is the place to go to. And if you're a single guy, which I'm pretty sure you're
single, this is definitely a region you want to be in because the women here are the best in the
world. Okay. Yeah, Tim, I think this is what you should do. 45 days, you can cover a lot,
you can probably see, if not 10 countries, you could see a little bit of each or at least some,
I mean, Bosnia, it's pretty easy. There's four main things you should see there. Croatia,
there's a lot of things over there, but there's a lot of different distances. And remember,
there is mountains in this area, so it might be a little hectic taking car, but if you can rent a
car, rent the car, it's probably the best way. Remember though, do not rent a car in Serbia and
enter into Kosovo or Albania with the license plate. Of what I heard, it's not so safe. They
might think you are Serbian and they might steal your car or anything else could happen. This is
what I've heard. So I mean, I haven't actually experienced it, but this is what I've heard. So
just be aware of that, but this is what you should do, okay? So Tim, I hope you enjoyed this
little message that I made for you. I made it short and quick and simple, but this is what I
think you should do. And remember, Hungary is where my family's from, so it's a great location.
You also, let me take these pictures off. You also have right here, Transylvania,
right? So this area is right here is Transylvania. You can go to Dracula's Castle,
which is over here somewhere. I think it's by Cluj or no, it's right here. It's by Sibiu. I'm
pretty sure. And yeah, man, this is what you should do, okay? So you can see right now you
have a lot of stuff to cover here and these distances aren't so much. I mean, you could see
all of Serbia pretty quick and then you have Kosovo, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia,
Montenegro is great. Montenegro, the coastline is incredible. I traveled throughout Croatia,
coastline and Montenegro and I thought it was fabulous. The beaches are incredible. The night
life is awesome. Albania is also a place where it's a, it's upcoming tourist destination in
Europe. A lot of people are traveling there now because it's very cheap to travel there.
And I mean, you can get the, your real bang for your buck here and also in Macedonia. So these,
all these countries don't use the Euro, so they have their own currency. So you will get a year
money's worth in these countries. Food is delicious in all these countries, especially
over here because this is all Mediterranean food, all fish, clams. I mean, incredible food.
So this is what I think you should do. Tim, I hope you enjoyed this message and to everybody else,
keep asking me questions because I want to keep answering. I want to answer all day.
All right, take care. Peace.
