Ab 795 | New Zealand's Famous Kingston Flyer - April 2026

The Kingston Flyer operates on the old Lumsden - Kingston Branch running from Kingston at the southern end of Lake Wakatipu 14 kilometers down the line to Fairlight.

The Kingston Flyer ceased operation in 2013 due to a change of ownership and returned 9 years later in 2022. It runs most Sundays between Kingston and Fairlight during October - June and is hauled by Ab 795 and 4 vintage carriages.

We follow both the morning and afternoon trips to Fairlight and return, as well as the turning and refuelling of Ab 795 in the small depot at Kingston.
