Hey everybody, happy Tuesday. I'm so sorry for the delay. I have several sick children in the house
and that has not been fun, but let's get right into this. People ask me all the time how I'm
able to homeschool kids that go from three to almost 16 years old and the truth is we've just
kind of learned some tricks along the way. The first one being that toddlers are busy bodies
and they need to be kept entertained. The very best way that I have found to do this is by keeping
things short in time and changing locations often. So when the big kids are doing work at the dining
room table, Wyatt who's three will grab a box and work something at the table like do something with
us at the table and when it's time to do a language assignment or something like that we will move to
the library and he'll move along with us. Just a small change in atmosphere or switching from
something art related to something that's like manipulative does amazing things for his attention
span. It allows me to teach the older kids while simultaneously teaching Wyatt to be independent,
so it's a win-win. I've linked all of our current box things below. I do switch them up weekly just
so he doesn't get bored with the same things every week. So if you want to leave a comment below if
that's something that you would like for me to post something about later, like just the changes
that we make, I'd be totally happy to do that. Just let me know. Currently Wyatt is super big
into using scissors and the scissors that are here are not his normal scissors. I cannot seem to find
his practice scissors that have like the rounded edge there in this house somewhere and in all
seriousness I think I have like three or four pair of them. Where they have gone I have no idea, but I
will find them. Anyway he really really loves these cut and paste books because not only does he get
to work on using his scissors but he also gets to glue things down. He really loves that. The next
one that we have are our Duodots and oh my gosh we've literally had these Duodots, not these
particular ones, but we have had Duodots in this house for probably 13 years or so because we got
them for Lucas when he was probably three and he's getting ready to turn 16. So Duodots have been a
very huge fan favorite and I will just go online and print off like free printables or I'll work
on Canva and just make our own and print them out on cardstock and they're amazing because you can
change them with the seasons and stuff like that. So that's what we normally do with the Duodots.
Another super cool thing that we are going to be doing this coming up week are these new like
watercolor paint markers. I cannot wait to see how these work for him. He likes to do things with
like the little, I think they're made by Crayola, but the markers that are like invisible so they
can't draw on anything else but they can draw on his paper. He absolutely loves those and so adding
in these watercolor marker looking things I think are gonna be super fun for him. But the book itself
that you'll see, it actually has like paint at the top of each page and you just use the paintbrush
and get it a little bit wet and then swirl it around in that and it actually is paint, like
watercolor style paint. So they're really, really, really cool. And then the last couple of things
that we have are the little lacing ABCs with the animals on them. Every single one of my kids have
loved these and so I can't wait to see how Wyatt likes these new ones. We have different ones that
are bigger but these are a little more like handheld so I think that he's really going to
like these. And then the tangrams at the end are just, again, they're kind of a fan favorite because
you can use them to make so many different kinds of shapes and the fact that it gives you like a
little guide is going to be really, really fun for him. I hope that this was helpful to you guys and
I hope that it encourages your homeschool journey in some way. Very good! High five!
I've never seen a car like this. You didn't!
