In this video I test out a 360-degree face tracker mount that follows your face automatically using its own built-in camera — no phone app required. I try it with a phone first, test the gesture pause, check how far it can recognize me from, then swap the phone for a DSLR camera to see if it still tracks. I also go through the add-on fill lights and share whether I think they're actually worth keeping.

all right let's move to the left and as you can see it is moving to the left it
is very responsive move to the right and it is moving right it just needs to see
your face right is it focusing on my face yes what's up guys in this video we
are checking out this face tracker gadget it makes any of your either your
phone or DSLR camera track your face but you can also mount it on the tripod on
this device camera that you can adjust and it will help the device follow you
so it does not rely on any built-in app it relies only on your only on its own
camera so that's good there is no extra cost on your phone it has rubber pads
to run down of it the next thing is just to turn it on and see it and actually do
we even need a phone I think if I turn it on it should start working
automatically okay did it turn on let me turn off lights oh so you need to put it
on hmm that's cool all right now I have mounted a camera and my camera is also
gesture based right there I pause it using a gesture so when you're away you
can actually pause it with the hand gesture let me enable it again and say
do it like this and we are good to go do it like this and it should pause see it
changes the light let's hide my face with my hands or something so that what
happens now oh it is struggling right because it needs the eyes right okay and
it has stopped itself let's enable it again did it trigger okay so when I hide
my eyes it says I can't find you if I do this hmm I mean it struggles so it
needs your face see but overall it's really responsive did I show you the
gestures yeah I did show you and when it is unable to find you it's like lights
start shifting between blue and other things so like this see the light shift
gestures work very well see if you do it straight it can easily pick it up let's
see if how further it can recognize it from so I'm quite far now and let's see
if it still picks up so let's do the hand gesture oh it detected it okay
gesture worked again so overall I mean works well and these lights you can turn
on them off if you don't like them see but they are very useful in this regard
so you do need them you can turn off the gestures as well from this button so
let's see it let's press this button and now the gestures are off and so even if
I do like this nothing changes it will still follow me you can turn them off or
on it is totally up to you I think the only thing that is left is the are these
lights let's try turning them on hopefully there is some battery in them
there is okay that's good so they support warm and cool and day as well so
this is warm on both side you need to charge them separately I'm not sure how
good they are I mean if they were taking charging from this one that would have
been great but if you buy them each one needs to be charged separately so
personally my recommendation would be to not get them but if you find them using
you think you can use them then yeah go for it anyway is there anything else I
can show you I think I can show you one other thing which is the camera DSLR so
let's try that all right for DSLR let's remove this one and let's bring back
let's attach it to our camera on it on all right I mean the idea is same
because the device is independent so you need it will still follow you so
it's not like it will not see it is still following me so the idea is now
instead of your phone you can also use your DSLR although I'm not sure how
much weight it could lift so I would assume just go now for the compact
cameras don't expect it to lift that much but with this camera it is working
quite well actually all right I guess that's it I think I think it's a
