A Google Earth Find Led Me to This Hidden Cave

So for today's adventure, I found this last week on Google Earth, and it seems to be this little
hole in the ground that might be a cave or something else. I don't think it's a mine
or mine shaft, but it looks small enough that I can go inside of it. I'm finally going to see what
this cave is. After I found that place, I spent a lot more time on Google Earth exploring out here
and found a couple other places that I'm going to check out along the way. I have no idea what
we'll be finding today, but it feels good to be outside again in a quiet juniper and pinyon tree
forest. I have the rest of the day open, ready to explore whatever there is behind me. It could be
anything. But it just happens when you're just like so excited about a place and you're just like,
I just want to get out and go hike. But I'm so glad you're here today. Thank you for watching
the Trek Planner, and let's get going. On this adventure, I hiked nearly eight miles,
moving in and out of trees and carefully stepping around cactus, not really knowing
what I would be finding. But when I least expected it, everything changed. This is one
trek you're not going to want to miss. I think I'm going over here first. There's these cliffs.
I'm going to walk along. Not too close. Be safe. But that's my plan is to kind of hike along these
cliffs and just explore my first couple of GPS coordinates, which are over here.
And then that cave is at a different location, which I'll also be hiking to. So a lot of hiking
today. Is that something? Probably not. Oh, wow. This is quite the view. Holy cow. Whoa.
Huh. Just taking this in. Never seen this place before. It's like beautiful and mysterious at the
same time. Like I've never, never seen this view before. I don't really know too much about this
area. I really don't. Um, I don't like find a place to do tons of research, have all these
notes and stuff and narration and scripts and things and everything planned out like a,
like a documentary. This is just real exploration. So I'm just trying to explore. That's,
that's the only part of my videos. This is just us hiking and that's it. Anything else
is, uh, just any little tiny pieces of things that I've learned along the way.
Um, but mostly it's just us hiking. Um, but it just happens when you're just like so excited
about a place and you're just like, I just want to get out and go hike. But, um, um, I was filming
and I saw this like low to the ground creature, um, that was very red. I saw it come up. Like,
I just saw it caught my eye. Just kind of come up and go this way. I glanced up right when I saw it
go up and like, Oh, getting ready for this adventure today was a kind of fun. I almost
forgot my camera. Um, but I do have a checklist now that I use, um, to make sure I don't miss
anything. Um, part of that includes water and food. And before I get going on my latest adventures,
I've been taking grooms. You guys ever heard of grooms? So grooms are not just greens and
multivitamins. They're that and much more. They come in these little small packs, these little
gummies. And I take with them on my treks or if I'm at home editing videos, they're just with
family. So one of the biggest reasons why I love grooms is because of this. I've always had
problems with my gut. Usually I'll eat something in the morning and I'll just set off my stomach
for the rest of the day. And I have always tried to eat more fiber with grooms. There's a great
source of fiber. And so starting my day off with grooms, I just know I'm already supporting my gut
health. So right now you're probably wondering what do these taste like? To me, they taste great.
They taste fruity, a little bit like strawberries. They're sweet. As you can see, they come in very
small packs you can bring anywhere with you. There's no mixing, there's no powders, there's
no prep work needed. Just take one of these and you're ready to go. There's over 20 vitamins and
minerals and they have 60 ingredients in here. If you're looking for ways to support your health,
start your day off right, and to support my channel, this is a great way to do it. Get up
to 52% off grooms. Check the link below in the description. Thank you to grooms for sponsoring
this adventure. I have a little bit longer to go. Oh actually, I am pretty close. So let's get going.
So I'm getting closer to my first GPS coordinate up here. And this one isn't anything,
you know, some ancient site or something like that. It's only something I saw. It looks
really interesting, like a really cool overlook or really neat geology. So I'm just kind of
excited to see what it looks like. But we're getting really close. Holy cow. Oh my gosh.
But I looked over here and I saw this little alcove. Looks like it has some soot on it.
Let's check it out. Maybe not here, huh? Look at that view. Wow, look at the edge of this thing.
I guess I don't know what I was expecting. Just, yeah, beautiful view. After hiking to my first GPS
coordinate, it's now time to hike to the cave. Alright, so I've been hiking for a good 25 minutes
or so. And I think I have about two and a half miles. I'm just hiking through this stuff like
this. Can't really see much of what's going on. It's really quiet. Really quiet. But I'm trying to
find anything that looks interesting. I just can't find anything.
Oh, look at this. What I saw. So pretty. Look at that. Wow, that's beautiful. Just hiding right here.
It's been a long hike, over four miles. I'm finally going to see what this cave is.
I have no idea. I hope it goes down to some secret Egyptian tunnels or something.
But, uh, I don't know. We'll find out soon. After all that hiking, I finally arrived at the cave.
Oh, that looks deep. Oh, yeah. I don't think we're down there. Keeps going down there.
This rock looks so unstable. How it keeps going down. Yeah, like turns down and you can't see
because of the light or the dark. And the light. But it goes down there and it curves like that.
Well, I don't know if I should go down there. It just looks so rocky. I think I was standing on
some rocks over here and they're like teetering. So you look at this rock right here. Show you
what I'm talking about. Yeah. Imagine if that twisted over crushed me. Ah, it's just too far
down on this side. I know. Disappointing. It really is for me too. I'll have to come back
with ropes with somebody. Ropes. Because I just don't want to get down there and be like, oops,
can't get back up. I have like some paracord, but not that long. It's just enough to like
tie a tarp down and stuff. Kind of disappointing, huh? After the cave, I spent a good amount of time
hiking around exploring anywhere I could. And that's when I found something. Oh my gosh.
So, um, um, but I came over here and I see this one fall, but this is, this is interesting. This
is interesting. Oh my gosh. Right on the edge of this. Okay. I think I have an idea of what these
are. See this right here, these little grooves. So there's two, this one goes out little circle
right there. So, Oh my gosh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Oh my gosh. There's two. Okay. So there's
two of these things. Notice how, um, can you see that really good? Yeah, you can hold on.
Let me check my camera. This is the best part. This is the best part. I'm so glad I came over
here. Cause I was, uh, uh, just thinking like, dang, this, this is not as fun as I
was hoping it would be as I could express to you guys. But look, look at this. Okay.
So there's these two circles. One's a circle. There's a dot in the middle where that, uh,
lichen, lichen is in this big, long carved out, uh, canal goes all the way to this edge.
Then this other one right here goes like this circle the dot in the middle. For my understanding,
these are petroglyphs. Very, very old. Look at the lichen. So very old. They grew on top of those.
And this takes forever to grow. That was the highlight of this whole trip. Uh, so I think
I know what those are and it's only because they watched this presentation from years ago done by a
Utah researcher. I think, um, his name is Steve Schaefer and he's done a lot of, you know,
archeological stuff and research. Um, so he talked about, these are called water glyphs and I think
there's been actual studies done on them. Um, and I think how you look at it is that
there are these long lines carved on usually flat surfaces that face up a long line with a
circle and with a dot somewhere in that. And that kind of gives you a good reference point
to where a spring or water source would be. That's kind of what I'm remembering right now.
Um, and so I did look down those and they pointed me straight to this Canyon down over there.
And this other one pointed just a little bit to the left to this other Canyon.
So I'm kind of wondering like who was up here and needed that information, you know? Um, obviously
they look so old, so incredibly old, many, many, many centuries old. I mean, they're all but gone.
I mean, they're practically disappearing, but wow. What a, what a surprise. I'm so glad I came over
here. Like I was literally just thinking like, ah, go check out this cool tree right here. See that
tree and then, uh, head back. But I decided to come over here. So, wow. Yeah. I got a long ways
back to my car. I think over three miles now. Oh, it's just so interesting. That cave led us there.
That thing found on Google earth led us to that water glyph. Thank you so much for hiking with
me today. If your favorite part was that petroglyph click subscribe. If your favorite part was that
cave that we didn't get to go into click subscribe either way. Thank you so much for supporting my
channel. It means so much to me. And just remember I'm out there right now trying to
find our next big adventure together and I'll see you on the next trek.
