What They Hide 12 Most Beautiful Jewels Media Don't Talk About.

Dear friends, how many jewels of royal Europe still waits for us to be rediscovered, with some worn only several times in modern days? But why? Are they too fragile? Or any other reason? Hidden behind palace walls, locked inside vaults, some of Europe's most extraordinary royal jewels exist in silence. So today we will uncover the top 12 jewels we want you to know better. And after watching this video, write down how many of them you have heard about, or maybe was waiting to see them again. And before we continue, just take a second to subscribe and follow our new stories. Our journey begins with the jewel number one, Queen Frederica of Greece Diamond Tiara. I chose to start with it, as the tiara looks so gorgeous, but so understated. And the reason is simple. Upon the abolishment of Greek monarchy, there were not many events to attend for the current tiara owner, Crown Princess Marie Chantal. Queen Frederica primarily wore this diamond tiara inherited by her husband, King Paul, from his mother, Queen Sophia. The design features circular foliate elements and scroll motifs with large diamonds, and was chosen as a tiara for her wedding in 1938. The tiara was not seen publicly for about 40 years during the family's exile, but saw the light again on Princess Marie Chantal during Queen Margrethe of Denmark's Ruby Jubilee. The second jewel also comes from the Greek royal family and belonged to the first queen of Greece, Queen Olga's Emerald Perure. Yet it was during Frederica's reign that jewels took on new turn, as she reassembled emeralds into the magnificent set of jewels, a convertible large tiara with emerald cabochons in a diamond frame, a large 20-carat emerald diamond brooch, with detachable emeralds that can be attached to the convertible necklace, and the set of earrings. In the 1940s and 50s, Frederica frequently wore the emerald tiara as a necklace combined with her wedding diamond tiara. In 1964, she gave the entire Perure as a wedding gift to her daughter-in-law, Queen Anne-Marie, who lived in exile for around 40 years, only sometimes wearing the emerald jewels for Sweden and Denmark visits. Now we want to stop at the amazing jewels of Luxembourg and Princess Sibylla, whom we rarely see at all, but her jewels tell a different royal story. And the first jewel was born in Spain, Queen Aina's Aquamarine Tiara and Demi Perure. This piece, featuring large aquamarine briolette drops, is part of a larger Perure commissioned by Queen Victoria Eugénie of Spain, sometimes called Ina by her friends. The tiara was made to match already existing necklace, brooch, and earrings, and was inherited by her daughter Infanta Beatrice, and eventually by Princess Sibylla's mother, Olympia Torlonia. Princess notably wore the tiara to the 2012 pre-wedding gala of hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Stéphanie de Lannoy. But wish we could see it often. Jewel number four also comes from Luxembourg, Congo Diamond Necklace. We even doubt you have heard about it, as it vanished from our sight a long time ago, and maybe there is a simple reason for it. But first let's learn the provenance. The Congo Diamond Necklace is a versatile convertible diamond tiara, along with the bracelet presented as a wedding gift to Princess Josephine Charlotte upon her marriage to hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume. Made by Van Cleef and Arpels, it was worn by Josephine Charlotte on her wedding day, as well as by her two daughters, Princess Marie Astrid and Princess Margarita, already setting a tradition to wear it as a wedding tiara. And no wonder as it looks delicate and petite. Grand Duchess often wore it as a necklace to pair with her diamond tiaras as well. The Congo Necklace tiara was worn again by Maria Theresa for her wedding to hereditary Grand Duke Henri, continuing the tradition. While the necklace still remains in the possession of the Grand Ducal family, it has rarely been worn since the 1980s. Will we ever see it again? But there is a country with even more jewels that are tightly preserved, worn only a few times. We move to Monaco, where Princess Caroline, daughter of Princess Grace, carefully keeps the jewels from the public eye. And the reason, as she married into the Hanoverian family, she got access to Prussian jewels which she is more likely to choose for official events. And it's a pity these several breathtaking heirlooms were forgotten for decades. First, let's look at tiara which belonged to her grandmother, Princess Charlotte's pearl and diamond tiara. The last time we remember this tiara is from the celebrations for King Carl Gustav of Sweden's 50th birthday, when Caroline truly shined in the Cartier tiara, adorned with pearl droplets and matched it with family's diamond fringe necklace, which is a convertible piece. The Cartier tiara was made around 1920, when Princess Charlotte, Duchess of Valentinois, married Count Pierre Polignac. It is made of gold and platinum, and features large teardrop-shaped pearls, and was worn by the Valentinois princess until she bequeathed it to her only son, Rainier III. What amazed me, Princess Grace never wore this piece, and I still can't think of the reason she never wore Monaco's heirlooms. Maybe because she had many jewels gifted for her wedding by Rainier III. And now comes one more jewel I wish to see more. Princess Grace's small festoon necklace tiara, the jewel full of mystery, as we don't know whether it was bought, commissioned, or passed down in the family. This delicate piece of jewelry is made of 200 diamonds set in platinum, and was worn by Grace in her early years of marriage, and for the Bal de Pétit Lice Blancs at 1966, translated as Little White Bed's Ball, a prestigious French charity gala, traditionally held in Monaco. But the provenance of this small tiara is still vague, as it wasn't among her wedding gifts. After Princess Grace's passing, this tiara became part of Royal Palace of Monaco's exhibit collection. And in modern days, we could see the diamond necklace worn as a tiara by her granddaughter Charlotte Casiraghi, who once again showed us Monaco's heirlooms, and since vanished from the site. While it's still with the family, we wonder who will be the next to show this rare jewel to the world. While the Danish royal family is known for showing up in their heirloom jewels, some are still distant from the public eye. One tiara I was admiring for a long time is tightly connected to Queen Margrethe's grandmother, Queen Alexandrine, who gifted her this gorgeous diamond droplet tiara, often called Queen Alexandrine's Tiara. Its style is very unique, designed in the imperial style where diamonds are hanging in the form of droplets. Once, it was very popular, as Queen Margrethe wore it quite often in her youth years, before the coronation. After a long break, she gifted this tiara to her daughter-in-law, Princess Alexandra, Countess of Fredericksburg, upon her marriage to Prince Joachim. Yet when the couple divorced, Alexandra kept the tiara, as it was her wedding gift, and continued to wear it for royal events until now, when we rarely hear about this magnificent heirloom. Now let's get into something even older, more remarkable, much like resembling Napoleonic diamond jewels. Our next piece, Danish Diamond Brilliant Perure, which was once seen on Queen Margrethe, but then gradually disappeared. But it's important not to mingle it with other diamond jewels, as you may immediately think of the rose-cut diamond bandeau which was transformed from a necklace by Queen Mary. That's totally a different piece. So what is a Danish Diamond Brilliant Perure? Designated a key part of the Danish crown jewels, the set consists of a necklace, brooch, and earrings created in 1840 for Queen Caroline Amelie. Many diamonds originate from a 1746 bequest by Queen Sophie Magdalene, including a large central pendeloque. These jewels are part of the four official sets of crown jewels, including emeralds, rubies, pearls, and rose-cut diamonds, which by the law must stay within Denmark and are not taken on foreign trips. Queen Margrethe frequently wore this perure, with the last time we saw it at the 2004 wedding of King Frederick and Queen Mary. Getting away from the crown jewels, we want to look at the personal jewel of Queen Mary, her aquamarine and pearl choker. Believed to be a gift from the then Crown Prince Frederick, now King Frederick, we saw it really for a few times, maybe because the Danish royal jewels don't have aquamarines encrusted in jewels, thus, it's hard to pair them with any of the tiaras, except her wedding tiara or floral tiara. First seen in January 2004, the choker is made of multiple rows of pearls, featuring a large aquamarine clasp ringed by smaller sapphires and diamonds, which she pairs with aquamarine earrings, probably a part of the set. Since the time, Mary was seen wearing two more aquamarine pairs of earrings and a ring, visibly to create a larger set. But we hope to see the choker worn again, as aquamarines suit her well. Turning our head to Norway, where a royal vault is full of brimming jewels, some are worn really a few times, at least now. One good example is Queen Sonja's diamond tiara, historically known as Queen Josefina's diamond tiara. Originally owned by Josefina of Leuchtenburg, then Queen of Sweden and Norway, it has deep roots, some historians linking it to Empress Josefina of France. The tiara is set in diamonds of a radiant laurel wreath and scroll-like patterns, similar to the style of royal France. Worn by Queen Josefina in her 1849 state portrait, it later passed down to her granddaughter Queen Louise of Denmark, but became more prominent after the wedding of King Harold and Sonja, who was frequently wearing it at younger years. She wears it even now from time to time, yet this tiara is less spoken about. What we can't say about her favorite piece, Queen Maud's pearl tiara. And here is a question for you. Do you know what is a house diamond necklace? Well, when I asked my friends, they barely know it exists. And the truth is it's a grand masterpiece, part of the Orange Nassau Royal Collection, now worn by Queen Maxima of the Netherlands. In simple words, it is a diamond necklace which is a part of perure composed of Stuart tiara and a large triple bow stomacher. Probably the name house diamond perure is less used today, as the tiara became known as Stuart tiara for the diamond it carries at the center. The tiara was first commissioned by Queen Emma and designed by Edouard Sherman, using Emma's diamonds to celebrate her daughter's inauguration. A large diamond necklace together with a divan de corsage were added to create a house perure. But this necklace was rarely worn at public until the current Queen Maxima brought it to the light. And as final piece of jewelry, I am delighted that we still can witness the antique diamond and pearl divan de corsage worn by royals today. This piece is now revived by Queen Maxima. It features a large open bow design set with numerous small diamonds, and in its full configuration, includes cascading pearl drops. First, she wore the top part of the brooch, featuring a prominent pink diamond center for the King Willem I award ceremony, and then the whole brooch with the large antique pearl tiara during a state banquet in Vienna. This jewel first belonged to Princess Sophia Württemberg, a princess who married King William III of the Netherlands. While a divan de corsage traditionally is worn at the center of the evening gown, now it looks so elegant on the shoulder. Hope to see it more often. Now you have watched all 12 pieces of jewelry so gorgeous but rarely talked about in media. So we wonder which jewel you liked most of all. But of course, there are so many grand pieces still waiting to be rediscovered. And if you have some particular jewelry collections in mind, write it down in the comments. Let's discuss it together. For now, have a nice brilliant day.
