like you will. God's don't speak in ways we understand. Who doesn't understand
pain? Well, from epic adventures to epic style, the odyssey making its way
into the world of jewelry. We are seeing an odyssey inspired. Look, take
shape pieces that evoke ancient greek mythology, symbolism in the adventure
of the journey itself. Here to show us is Constance Palamu from Zachary's
Jewelers. Glad to have you here with us, Constance. Thank you. Thank you for
having me. Before we get into all of this with the odyssey jewelry trends,
I want to congratulate you because for folks at home, you were the designer of
the Miss USA and Miss Team USA crowns this year and made them both this year
and last year and some big wins for you guys, right? Yes, we're very excited. It
still feels very unreal. Yes, absolutely. And one of our hometown
girls, Justice Kelly, of course, winning that too. So really keeping it all
local here in the DMV. Let's get into what we're talking here this morning in
regards to the odyssey and how that's inspiring trends when it comes to
jewelry right now. Absolutely. So I think there's always something in media
that inspires our trends. It kind of infiltrates our minds and then we start
dressing that way and we don't even realize. So a good example recently
would be Bridgerton, right? How whimsical fashion became. We started to see that
kind of infiltrate even how people would set their tables. And before that, we had
Game of Thrones, which created a huge resurgence in fur. For me right now, I
think there's no way that we can ignore what the odyssey is going to do for
fashion and jewelry. Here in DC, a lot of our friends, right, are still wearing more
traditional office wear. Sure. So I think that's really where jewelry is gonna
come in because you're probably not going to wear a toga to the hill.
You're probably not lobbying in, you know, a full-blown Greek revival outfit. But you can work it in
in your jewelry. And so I selected some pieces today that are clean enough to
make an investment in. They're classic enough that you can, you know, safely make
an investment in them. But they also still kind of really give you that
aesthetic of what we have come to think of for, you know, kind of Greek
pieces, Greek goddesses. Like this piece here. I'm loving this piece. This is beautiful.
So this is one of our best-selling brands called Marco Biccego. It's
actually an Italian designer. But you really see a lot of that Greco-Roman
inspiration in his designs. And this piece is really timeless. It's elegant. You
can wear it with jeans and a t-shirt. You can wear it under a button-down shirt
with a blazer. And it's gonna be great and carry you and give you the confidence
of like a Penelope, for example. Right. That, paired with the bracelet, just
effortless and classy, but still kind of trendy on par with all of that as well.
I'm loving these pieces as well as your earrings, too. Those are fun.
Yeah, I think we're gonna see more bold gold. That's a trend that's been brewing.
But I think the way that it's going to be interpreted is a little different now
that we have this inspiration from the Odyssey. So the earrings that I'm wearing
are really large and they have a lot of movement. They might not always be
comfortable for a woman who's wearing a suit. And that's where an earring like
this comes in, right? Because these are giving you that big, bold look while
still keeping it really professional because they don't have a ton of
movement. So they're not, you know, it's not like Bengals jingling. People tend to
comment on things like that. When you're in a professional space, I hear a lot of
my clients, you know, say, I want something bigger and more with more
presence. But I still need to keep it professional. Do you feel like this is a
trend you'll see and will stay around for a little while? Absolutely. I think
this is like, you know, when Elizabeth Taylor was Cleopatra, we saw, you know, an
Egyptian revival for decades after that. Um, and I think that this is, this
is our Elizabeth Taylor's version of Cleopatra. I love that. Awesome. Well, I
know you've got a few other pieces here, but we are out of time. So can you tell
me where people can find more information? I know you have great
pieces over at Zachary's Taylor's Zachary's Jewelers as well as your other
store too. Absolutely. You can find me and all of this beautiful jewelry at
Zachary's Jewelers dot com or on social media at Zachary's Jewelers. Awesome.
Mickey, I'll send it over to you. In the meantime, I'm gonna take a peek at
some of these beautiful pieces here. There's some gorgeous pieces of
jewelry. Thanks Jacqueline.
