All right everybody, happy Sunday. We are back today with the trees that we flocked last week
and we're going to decorate them. I did wind up doing six trees on that batch of flocking
and I've only got four here right now. I've already hairsprayed them twice. I use the
cheapest hairspray there is. You can get this at the Dollar Tree. It's a heavy duty hold
and it keeps the flocking and the glitter from just falling off all over everything in your house.
So when I get done, y'all can leave a message about which one you liked best.
And again, you got to remember most of these are not my taste and a lot of them may not be your
taste. But I watch the trends and see what's selling and kind of run with that. So all the
pots that they are in, well like these buckets, I got five or six of these in my Michael's grab bags
and I decided to use this red and white striped one today. And the trees are sitting there on
plastic bags and plastic rat bags wrapped around the base. And then I covered all of it with
Spanish moss which is also free because I live across the street from a uh estuary, a nature park,
whatever you want to call it. So I wasn't really keen on the red and white striped one
but I figured I'll figure out something to do with it. And I decided to just go
full on. There it is. Red and white striped, red and white theme on it. And these three bows
came off the um, you know how the tree is wrapped in burlap and has a big red bow?
I kept three of those bows for this tree. I have three big sprigs of berries that came in the grab
box. And then I have these itty bitty little ornaments that years ago came in a Michael's
grab box and I've never done anything with. And now I have a use for them. And then a piece of
like pearl, I don't know what it actually is but it'll make a garland. And I do need, I have my
clippers right here. So this one, let's see this is the back. Let me open this up. I tried to get
everything ready but I did not succeed. And let's see where it starts and ends. I got the back side
here. And basically with this you're just gonna wrap it real good. And then what I do is I wrap
the branch around it and back out and the garland is not going anywhere. And you're just gonna wrap
it around. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to find a use for 15 of these trees but I think I may be
able to. I don't think I have an option at this point. And I really was not keen on the red and
white striped bucket. I think that's what it is. I think it's to put treats in or something like
that. Like if you make cookies. I'm not into the real traditional but I'm doing some traditional
trees today. So make that make sense. I hope everybody's warmed up. We are warm enough today
that I can wear shorts and a tank top which I don't get to do very often anymore. Well I haven't
been able to do very often. And I just used my wire snips for that. The berries same thing.
I'm just going to cut it because it's really the front end that you want
want to be very well decorated. And I'm going to turn it a bit and we'll just tuck one in there.
I didn't want a lot of it. I wanted just enough that you kind of got the idea that I was running
with. And we'll tuck one down here. Just take the one of the berries and wrap it around
the branch of the tree and it won't go anywhere. That's how I do my my tree in the house so I know.
And I did flock some of the berries but for the flocked trees they're not going to work. It's
going to be too much. And again this is the front of the tree because the handle's back here.
So I kind of want more facing this way. Wrap that one and you got your berries on.
I want that a little bit further back. My goal in these is to not buy anything for them for one.
And for two use up a lot of stuff that I have boxes and boxes of in the house.
Same with these little ornaments. I just put them on floral wire so that I could
just knot them around the branch and they are there. I need them further out
and I'm going to nab the the bead with it also so it's permanently attached.
And we start and we're going to put one over here. I have five of these. I have these in
a lot of other colors also and I've had them a long time. And this is my year for
using stuff up and not buying new. I thought I forgot to wire one. I didn't. It's there.
And let's see maybe over here. Let's see this is the front. Sorry I got to turn it away from you
for a minute. We'll go over here with this one. So that's with the berries and the ornaments.
And this is one of the bows from the bottoms of them. They've all been out here in the flocking
mess. And where do we need one? Probably over here. And I may add some bows to this down the road.
I've got a lot more of them. I don't like the bows that come on the tree itself.
But I like to use them when I'm putting the trees together. And we'll put one down here.
I probably will also when it gets closer to fair time. I will probably get some of the fairy lights
from Dollar Tree. It does make a difference with these. I'm going to put that one up a bit.
And it's really that simple. I'm going to back up so you can see the whole thing.
It's a little bright for my taste but I know that that red and white is a very popular look.
So there's one down. Next this is a uh where did it this pot came one of the orchids that we bought
at one point the orchid pot was in this pot and it doesn't really go with our taste for pots
but it was white and I thought since blue and white is going to be a big deal this year
I would go with blue and white. And I had all these little stars from different three different
sizes from the box. I don't know it was a 24 box or the 23 box but there were hundreds of these
stars and I still had some left. So half of them I painted royal blue put some glitter on. I don't
know if you can see it. Half of them I painted pure white and then I just glued hot glued
floral wire to the backs of them to wire them up. And
the trick with these ones is to make sure that you are getting the front side out. I did not
glitter both sides. I'm doing two different sizes. I don't know I think I'd like a large blue one at
the top but we'll see when it's done what what we wind up going with. And it's just really easy
to wire it on. And the bigger chunks of flocking are coming off while I do that which is a good
thing. And I'm going to make my decision right now on the big star for the top blue or white.
I think since I got so much flocking on the top a blue star would look better.
So there you have it. I've got a lot of stars. I probably could put a white one on the other side
and kind of even it out but we'll see. And they're all different sizes. I'm actually going to do a
patriotic one too this year just because I like a patriotic tree. And I haven't done one in a
number of years. So this year I'm going to do a patriotic one for us. Probably for the porch or
usually the porch tree just has chicken ornaments on it. We're always gifted chicken ornaments and
I have a nice collection and I love them. So that's where we're at so far. I don't know if
you can even see them. Let's see. Sure. Sure you can. Look close. I went over this morning.
We got a new Nordstrom Rack store opened that's about five minutes from our house. It's actually
in the Michaels Plaza and I went over just to see what they had. I thought it was still rather
overpriced but it is cheaper than buying stuff new but it was still a little more than I
choose to spend. They did though have Rag & Bone jeans and those are the only jeans I find that
fit me perfectly. And I usually get them at the consignment shop and if you wear a small size
they mark down to little or nothing. So I just couldn't justify even on Nordstrom Rack prices.
They were I think $140. So that was a little more than I was willing to spend for a pair of jeans.
They were nice. This one I might get a set of blue lights or if they don't have blue
just get the set of white and switch them out to blue bulbs. I'll have to see when it's done.
I'll try each and see. Oops we want a white one over here.
There's where we're at now and I'll probably put a few on the back side. I don't do a lot
on the back side of these. Most people that have them don't have the room to have
a tree that faces both ways. And we also have a lot of people that live in their
mobile home their RVs down here in the winter and I think that they will thoroughly enjoy
having these little trees to put in their RV. A few years ago I I'm gonna say in 22
I got a box with a whole bunch of trees and I took them to the craft fair and did sell
every single one of them. So I'm hoping that it happens again. This one I think will look
much better once there's lights lights on it also. I could be wrong but I just think it will.
And I think we're gonna leave it at that because it's starting to get a little overkill.
I might pop a couple on the back side after. So that's the blue and white one.
Very simple also and again when the lights it's going to be very pretty. The next one this tin
came from a Michaels grab box I want to say 2017 and it had a beautiful floral arrangement in it
and I love the tin. The floral arrangement two years ago just started looking real
yellowy it didn't look good at all so I pulled it all out and said I will do something different
with it and I decided on this one to go with the silver and gold again not one I'm particularly
keen on but it is very popular and I had a whole bunch of if you remember my boxes I got um
there's still a dog out here I wondered what she was doing I got four or five packages of
garland ties and the garland ties each had silver bells at each end and I cut the last inch off
I don't like the the twig whatever it's called that they're on so I cut that off
but left enough to wrap it and we'll start doing silver and gold oh and from those others
the red ones that we just used I have gold ones and silver ones still left and I'm actually
finally using the last of all those so that makes me happy there's a song silver and gold I can
never remember how it goes but there's a Christmas song about silver and gold which is probably why
people like it I don't know and I think when this one is done I I've got some gold wired ribbon
somewhere I can't remember where but I have it probably in the ribbon box um I will probably
make a bow with gold since there's a little bit more of the silver ornaments than the gold
and just do a pretty gold bow on the top and call it it and I'll give you an idea where we're at in
a second get one more bell on floral wire is your best friend when you're working with these little
best might actually save those other bells for the top of the tree because I haven't really
thought of anything for the top of that one well I was going to make a gold bow never mind
what have I dropped on the floor I have my mom gave me a whole bag of little mini ornaments
and they're all very vintage looking and I think I'm going to actually I'm gonna put a bell up on
the top I will get some floral wire and tie that on because I kind of like it I like it a lot
all righty I probably will get uh bows for you again I kind of like simple even if it's colors
I'm not particularly keen on I still like to keep it real simple and I'm going to wire two of these
bells actually maybe I'll wire all three of them to the top like so instead of a gold bow
that'll work and last but not least is the one that I will probably not so well I'll take it
and hope nobody buys it this is just a dollar tree pot and I love the colors so I bought like
four of them this tree came with the little pine cones on it so when I flocked it some of the pine
cones got flocked in there with little mini ones and I decided this tree was going to fit our
lifestyle so I filled the whole bottom with the Spanish moss but I also tucked it in the branches
and I have I have another roll of this but just for a start all I'm going to do with this one
is a little bit of this kind of burlappy garland I should have brought both rolls out I knew this
one was halfway done but so again I need more burlap on it but basically that's all that's
going to be on that one and some lights I'm not sure if I want to go with white or the amber
on this sometimes it's hard to get like 10 or 15 lights set in an amber
but sometimes at full you can find them so I think if I do lights on this it'll probably be
the amber also if all they'll be the little acorn packages and part of me says no you weren't going
to buy new stuff to do these but I think this needs it and my goal is to get $10 a piece for
these trees they were $15 at the store undecorated so I've got them in pots decorated they'll be
pre-lit and at $10 a piece I got 15 of them it's $150 which is three uh hold on 10 20 30 40 50
three times what I spent on my boxes four times what I spent on my boxes so I'm happy with that
so I'm going to ask you all to vote this is the nature tree if that's your favorite say nature tree
silver and gold with a really cute pot blue and white I do love it I might actually make a clay
something to put on the pot I don't know I do like it just plain or red and white
so I just want to know what everybody else's favorite is I like them all don't get me wrong
uh this this I like more than I thought I would to be honest and I do have more of these bows
if you think it could use a few more bows just let me know because just doing these
six that I did I've still got three more yeah three more of the red bows so I can put more
on if you think it would look better otherwise that's that I hope you all had a great Sunday
morning I hope it's beautiful weather where you are it is here I can finally be outside and
in shorts and a tank top and we're gonna go over to the nature park this afternoon just
walk across the street we like to go to the turtle pond feed the turtles
and then I'll get some more Spanish moss because I used a lot of it
so have a great day tomorrow I'm gonna do an orchid thing again thanks for watching commenting
subscribing sharing all of it it helps us immensely have a great Sunday love y'all bye
