I’ll walk you through how to create the spiral shape using wire, attach it to your Christmas tree and position the lights to achieve the finished effect.

✨ WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Wire for creating the spirals
• Fairy lights (I used 3 sets of the battery operated ones linked above)
• Pliers to cut and secure the wire
• LED star

A little tip from me: if you’re buying wire for this project, I’d recommend choosing something slightly thicker than the wire I used, as it will help the spirals hold their shape more easily.

✨ WHAT I DID:

• Attach wire securely to the top of the tree.
• Shape the wire into spirals, working your way down the tree.
• Adjust the spacing to create 3–4 spirals.
• Use leftover wire to make hooks and secure the spirals to the branches with pliers.
• Wrap fairy lights around each spiral, keeping the spacing even.
• Add an LED star to the top.
• Adjust the top spiral so the lights flow down from the star.
• Switch on and enjoy your floating lights!
