Our Overnight Train Adventure in Eastern Europe

We took the legendary Prietenia night train from Bucharest, Romania to Chișinău, Moldova, aka one of the slowest (and most interesting) train journeys in Europe.

This overnight train between Romania and Moldova is more than just a way to get from A to B. Think middle-of-the-night border checks, passport control at 3AM, a surprisingly lively bar car, and not a lot of sleep. The journey takes around 13-14 hours and is definitely a VERY different way to travel to the least visited country in Europe.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to travel from Bucharest to Chișinău by train, cross into Moldova overnight, or experience one of Eastern Europe’s most unique rail routes, this is it.

Be sure to come back next week as we show you around Moldova and why it is the least visited country in all of Europe.
