How to monetize social media as an entrepreneur.
In this video, I'm going to share with you what I have done to create over 50,000 viewers over
a weekend on a viral video and how I've made over six figures doing it. So stay tuned to the end.
I'm going to share all of those amazing techniques. You know, most entrepreneurs
are scared to do a lot of things that I'm going to say. So get a pen and paper. You
got to write them down. You should easily be monetizing social media and I'm talking
every platform. So let's begin. So specifically, we're going to talk about content marketing.
Now I know there's a ton of people out there that are talking about it, but I'm talking content
marketing that will monetize. So I'm going to talk about the accounts you need to pay attention to.
What does it mean to follow the algorithm? And then the number one thing, the absolute number
one thing that most people fail within one month, you do this one thing, right? You will get the
followers and the monetization that you really deserve. So let's get going. So content marketing,
I am the huge, huge fan of Say Yes and Figure It Out. I actually wrote a book called Yes Energy.
See a lot of you, when it comes to content marketing, especially if you're a beginner
or you're perfectionist. And by the way, in my Yes Energy book, I have a chapter that's called
perfection equals poverty. See some of you, you're working too hard to get it all laid out and get it
all organized. I mean, there's crazy gurus. You might've paid them $40,000 to design some eight
week online platform webinar. I said, so why would you build a webinar when no one's bought it?
No one has cared. No one's asked you. You might in your miraculous ego say, oh, everyone needs
my eight weeks of content. Not unless they paid you for it. I don't know how many, the countless
people. And I could like, shoot some of those gurus because it's just out of order. It's not
that you don't need it. It's just out of order. The first thing you need to do is just get out
on every social platform. And I'm talking everywhere. You need to have a great LinkedIn
profile. If you're not on Clubhouse, you know, newer platform, Be Connect is a newer one.
The obvious TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, blah, blah, blah, all of them
clearly here on YouTube. So you need to be everywhere and you need to have some congruency
everywhere. Now saying that I'll get into that in a little distinctions later on in the video
of how I do different content in different directions of content based on the audience
on the platform. We'll come back to that kind of content. But for all of you, you're just out
there saying, what do I do? Just start talking, right? The 80-20 rule, right? Jim Collins wrote
a book called Built to Last and he wrote an even better one said, good enough. It's good enough.
You know what? Most people don't even know half the stuff you know. You have this amazing God-given
talent right here in your brain, right? And here's what a book is. A book is your brain on papers.
It's not difficult. I do not type my books, meaning sit on a typewriter and type. I talk
them. And when I help people publish books, we get a mic, we record, we do an interview,
and their content just flows. If you're an expert, the content should just flow out of you. And so
what you want to do is start putting little snippets across these platforms, ask for
engagement, ask people to come to a phone call and start selling. Once they start buying your content,
then you can do your eight-week webinar on a platform. Even then I wouldn't even stage it
that way. Why build something that's static, that you don't have the flexibility to change?
In the money space, especially in this time, in this volatile time. I mean, if I say something,
like I talk a lot about Roth IRAs. I mean, you can search on my YouTube channel and you'll find
all sorts of conversations I have about the Roth IRA. Highly encourage you to go to get your hands
off my Roth IRA because the government's trying to shut those down. So again, my point of being
static, I'm going to have to go back and do tons of content if that goes away on how to help people
fix what just happened. So static content, I mean, I don't believe anything's ever green and
timeless forever, right? And I really don't think you should spend any time unless someone pays you
to do it. Meaning pre-orders, deposits. I mean, that's a whole video on how do you actually
create cash and how do you do it fast? But for content right now, just to get it monetized,
again, monetization and just posting content to post content, they're two different things,
right? So the content you post needs to lead to something else. So let's talk about how some of
this works. So on Clubhouse, for example, I'm out on Clubhouse. I'm a guest on a lot of clubs. I have
my own club and I direct people to laurel.club. I direct them there. They go, they log into my
database. They come out of follower position into a database position. And then from there,
we upsell them into other things. You're going to have the same kinds of things. I'll talk about
TikTok at the end where I just, I mean, I'm blowing away my followers by a very specific
kind of content I'm posting and then a call to action that I'm posting. So monetization is
critical. The first thing you do though, is just get the content out. And ideally you're going to
modify your content based on what people are paying you for. Not just because you think it's
a good idea or you're, you know, I don't know who's telling you to do it, but it's sad. The
amount of people that I see have amazing content and can't monetize, sad day. So let's get to where
do you post and across some channels and on accounts. And I'm going to actually read this.
So what do you focus on? And I'm going to say one or two times a day, you've got to focus in
Facebook. So you're going to do at least one or two posts per day consistently in Facebook. So
I have a Facebook page. I also have a Facebook group, right? Called the Millionaires in Training
group. So then I do different little special posts for those because I know they're millionaires
in training. They want a deeper conversation. So at least once or twice a day, notice the
consistency. So TikTok is one to three times a day and three times a week. Larger influencers
post sometimes up to 10 per day. There's also a strategy of when you're posting on TikTok
that you do a three video series. So there's like video ones, there's like series one, two,
and a three. And I've even done like a one, two and a three and four on taxes and got hundreds
of thousands of you just over a weekend on that one post. But you've got to continue to repost
over and over and over. All right. What else? Twitter, eight to 20 times a day, eight to 20
times a day. Instagram, one to seven stories a day, but only a few posts per week. So notice
there's a big difference. One to seven stories a day. And then over the course of the week,
you can just do some typical posts, but the stories in the posts are very different and
they grade differently. All right. What else? LinkedIn, one time, five days a week. LinkedIn
is just, you know, like you're going to your job, even though I never want you to go to a job,
but you got to post on a regular basis. The other thing in LinkedIn too, is get reviews,
get recommendations, get endorsements. It's a little thicker over there. Everybody thinks
it's just for professionals that have jobs. It's totally not. Entrepreneurs do tons of business
and monetize tons of business out on LinkedIn on a regular basis. YouTube, one time, five days a
week. So I come out every day. And again, if you have not subscribed, not just followed along
because you found me somewhere on a search, I want you to subscribe to my channel specifically
and post for the notifications to pop up. So every day, five days a week, you're going to get my
YouTube education. You're going to get my recording. So click on it and follow along.
And if you like it, put a little, you know, likes and hearts and share it with other people. All
right. So you're roughly looking at 10 to 53 times a day if you're managing all of your accounts
properly. So which ones do you focus on? Money. How do you monetize and where do you focus some
time to monetize all of your content? And what's going to happen is as you're on these different
channels and you're interacting consistently on a regular basis, you're going to get the feel of
the kind of follower that you're getting. And they're a little bit different. Like my LinkedIn
followers are a little different kind of people than those that are here on YouTube. You guys
watching me now, you may never even have seen me over on LinkedIn. And then very differently is
over on TikTok. What's interesting on TikTok is I posted a video early on because I'm just testing,
just like I'm telling you to do. I was just testing different kinds of content and believe
it or not, single parenting just took off. Single parenting took off. So I built a site called Rich
Mom Single Mom, right? Because I was part of the Rich Dad brand way back in the day. I thought
that'd be a fun page. So I built a page. My calls to action on TikTok is, Hey, come join me on a
phone call. Very different. I haven't asked you all to come join me on a phone call. I want you
to subscribe and listen to me every day. How you post your content and how you talk to your audience
that follows you there. It's interesting and very different. Instagram, much younger. I got my
college athletes out there. I've got a kind of a different group. A lot of people actually in my
space, my speaker author space are on Instagram. So I just share this transparently with you
because you're going to have to develop your, your content around your brand. You got to ask
a lot of questions. I cannot tell you. Surveying, huge, huge. Ask questions if you don't know what
to talk about. Like there's some weeks that we'll just say, so what do you want to talk about?
What's your money issue? What's your most important money? You know, anxiety will ask,
you know, what do you want to know about debt? That's why I've just, you know, did a video on
good debt, bad debt. You can click over and listen to that one. I listened to my people
because I asked them, I surveyed them and I actually interact with their comments. So content
and monetization is critical. We've talked about what to post. Let's talk about the algorithm a
little bit. So again, when you're doing your content marketing, make sure that the direction
of your content and the testing is essentially what I'm telling you. I just teach in a very
common sense ways. You'll be testing, you'll be seeing what they're responding to. Again, quizzes
and surveys help people respond, but how you speak to each channel depends on how the people are
responding to you, right? So like I said, my YouTube channel, you folks out here are different
than my TikTok folks and different than my clubhouse folks, different than my LinkedIn folks.
So I'm congruent in my messaging. I just focus the direction of the content in a different way,
especially when it becomes monetized. So let's get to that. There's an algorithm that happens
in all these channels. So algorithms, every channel has them. Everyone's different, but I can
tell you there's one thing that is true about all of them. It's consistency. So it's the consistency
of the numbers that I just talked about. It's a consistency of comments. So don't just post stuff.
I see so many of my colleagues, they'll post something, gone for a week, right? They maybe
do their posting on a Friday or Saturday or when they're, you know, have a little moment and then
you don't hear from them and they don't respond to comments. There's no engagement. So you've got
to engage. I mean, we, I have a whole team of us. I mean, we're engaging, we're talking, we're saying
call the office. I have folks, I mean, we actually all work together. We're not this virtual team.
We all work together. You can organize this however it works for you. We literally say,
if you have a money issue right now, pick up the phone and call us. Let's not be here on text and
or typing and going back and forth on a chat that's open or even a direct message. Let's jump
on the phone and have a real conversation. And I can tell you that conversation then nine times
out of 10 will lead to something, even if it's a small book sale or it's a video of some content
piece that they really need to know about how to get out of bad debt or how to design your divorce
while you're in love. You, I mean, I have so many assets. You will have a lot of assets. You'll
develop them over time. You know, I was in the beginning stages of developing my content for
monetization. I listened, I surveyed, surveyed, surveys. I gave people what they wanted. What a
novel concept, what they said they wanted. I would go back and literally create minute, two minute,
three minute videos about that thing. And I just have a huge list of assets. So when our team is
on the phone or I'm on the phone with somebody and they'll say, well, I need that thing. Heck,
this morning coming over to record videos for all of you out here, my Uber driver's like, yeah,
I'd love to get some content on how to do some funding in real estate. He gave me his information.
I'm going to send it to him. He's going to opt in. And away we go. It's a constant thinking about how
do I serve people's lives? That's literally the mentality that I live this through. How can I
serve you? Which means I got to ask you what you want. And then I'm going to go develop the content
to give you exactly what you want. And then I'm going to ask you for money. It's not that difficult
folks. I ask you what you want. I tell you how I'm going to help you. And then I ask you for cash.
I'm going to teach you how to do this online, offline all the time. So if you're not making
money, you haven't organized the sequence. Now let's get to the end. And the one, the one thing
that 99% of people won't do it's follow up and consistency. So all those numbers that I read
off earlier in the video, and you can like hit a rewind and go back and grab them all.
You have to be consistent. You have to engage you. Um, and again, I already told you the level
of engagement. We get to a phone number and pick up the phone. And then the big one,
the big, big one is you move them from followers to your database. I'm on a massive campaign.
I have so many clients that are struggling, you know, inside some of these algorithms
and I'll pick on Facebook, uh, for a moment. You're not always seen. If they say you have
20,000 people, it doesn't mean just because you posted something, all 20,000 people are
going to see it. And then if you're running ads, you have a whole different variance that's going
on. If you want 20,000 people to see everything you say and 20,000 people to text to, you've got
to move them inside a proper database. So on the, in the description, I have two things.
I have a quiz for you and I want you to take a very, it's a 30 second quiz. It'll tell me exactly
who you are, your financial personality and everything about you. And then I have a gift.
I have a gift to a link. That's going to give you my discount codes for the best database.
I think that exists. It's 49 bucks a month. It is so simple. I make all my students do it
because how do we track all this stuff? You got to track it in a database. You can run around
on social media and I love the influencers who have millions of followers, but you know what?
I've done some business with some of those. And just because they're influencers and they
have followers does not mean they have customers, which are people who have paid them for their
content. There's a big difference. You move them from followers into a database and you monetize.
So got a lot to teach you. Let's start with the quiz first. So go down to the description,
click on it. Takes a few minutes. You're going to be one of four personalities. I want to know
who I'm working with because if you're a little like me, it's going to be easy. I know how to
coach me, but if you're an analyst, it's going to be a little different. And if you're a spender,
it's going to be different. So I want to see who you are and we're going to have a good time.
Remember, if you haven't subscribed, do that, do all these things. We have a lot to do,
first of all, and most of all, we got to make you some money on a regular basis.
