SAVORY Pulled Chicken & Beer + Fourth Ward HISTORIC TOUR & NoDa BREWERY | Charlotte, North Carolin
My second day in Charlotte, North Carolina (in partnership with the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority), continued with a historical tour of one of the Queen City’s most well-known neighborhoods, lunch at an incredible local eatery, and some beers at one of the city’s many breweries. Let’s continue our tour of Charlotte!

First up, my friends Tom and Cassie took me on a fascinating historical tour of Charlotte’s first historic district, the Fourth Ward, an area of the city that boasts beautiful Victorian homes, the home of the city’s first African-American mayor, and the brightly-colored Berryhill House.

Next, we visited Alexander Michael’s Restaurant & Tavern, or Al Mike’s as the locals call it, a former grocery store that is now a favorite eatery of many in the downtown area. There, I had a sensational barbecue pulled chicken sandwich with Cajun fries, some finger-licking good wings, and two delicious beers: the Lazy Bird Brown Ale and a Jalapeno Pale Ale.

Next up, I headed off to NoDa Brewing Company in the North Davidson Arts District, or NoDa for short, for a tour and to sample some of their beers. NoDa Brewing Company is a multiple award-winning brewery that opened in 2011, and it was easy to see why after I tried a flight of four of their delicious beers: the Bella Brew, the Gorgeous, the Coco Loco, and the Hop, Drop ‘n Roll, followed by their Belgian Triple. These beers were incredible! So unique and smooth!
