US warships pass through the Strait of Hormuz amid peace talks with Iran in Pakistan

Peace talks between the U.S. and Iran are underway in Islamabad, Pakistan. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance has met Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif ahead of the peace talks. U.S. Special Envoy Steve Whitkoff and Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner are also taking part in the negotiations. Iran's delegation is being led by the country's parliament speaker, Mohammad Bakar Kalabaf, and Foreign Minister Abbas Aranchi. They have maintained all ceasefire negotiations must include Lebanon. Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he is ready to discuss a peace deal. In the past month, Lebanon turned to us several times to begin direct peace talks. This has never happened to us in history. Actually, it happened once decades ago, but now they have turned to us. I have approved it, but under two conditions. We want to achieve to disarm of Hezbollah, and we want a true peace pact that will last. U.S. President Donald Trump has posted on social media during the talks, writing, the Strait of Hormuz will soon be open, and the empty ships are rushing to the United States to load up. This is as the U.S. Central Command announces two of its warships have sailed through the Strait of Hormuz. They say it's part of a plan to remove mines from the strait. A spokesperson from Iran's military has denied the claim, saying no American vessels have entered that stretch of water.
