No challenge feels more familiar to designers than the puzzle of limited space (when does it ever feel truly enough?) Yet, the solutions that emerge are often as unique as the minds behind them, especially in standout projects. For Djehovan of Ni Dezain, one of his latest breakthroughs was inviting the sun indoors, flooding the entire space in light, as if the whole building above had simply vanished. It’s a clever exploration: sun-inspired illumination for a low-ceilinged one-bedroom apartment.
This is the first house that my husband and I built together.
We want a house that is not only beautiful to look at,
but comfortable and functional.
We hope for the long term.
A house that grew with us.
The design concept of the American Classic house also incorporates modern elements.
Timeless, luxurious, and elegant—we've also incorporated these elements into this home.
The first time I visited his house, it was already completed.
The façade has already taken on a classical form.
So, we have to think about how the facade and interior can work together as a single concept.
I am Andi Pinansio, founder and principal of Segi Home.
Hello, my name is Rahma and I'm the owner of this house and welcome to Row House.
My client came to us with a very clear vision.
At the same time, they also gave us plenty of freedom, creativity.
So, this house is located in an American Classic-style housing area.
That's why we wanted to follow that design concept.
The challenge is that we must preserve the uniqueness and harmony of all the rooms.
If we take a closer look, there are many materials in this house—wood tones, marble, and detailed elements.
We here must have the house's must be bright.
Every room must have its own natural lighting.
Yet it's still cozy at night.
When we first entered the building, we could see that there was a foyer.
I think it's a very focal point.
Very American.
From this foyer, we want to create a wow effect.
For the flooring, we have a marble game.
Like a carpet, but made of marble.
We also made an arch-shaped panel.
Seirama with the main door.
There is a chandelier game, adding a luxurious touch to this house.
From the foyer, we want to become a unified concept of LDP.
Living room, dining room, and pantry of the entire house.
Starting from all furniture, moldings, paneling.
We use a consistent profile list.
This space is just so versatile.
You can do just about anything here.
On this first floor, we have a high ceiling.
In my opinion, the room is quite limited.
But we must skillfully maximize it, so the space still feels fully utilized.
For flooring, a black strip would make a nice accent.
It also provides a strong effect on the shape of the furniture.
Kitchen, to further enhance its own classic style,
We are using the profile on both the top table and the backsplash.
In the upper kitchen cabinet, we use gold trim.
Klien also likes the color gold.
Moving on to the second floor, we have a hallway.
It has its own history.
We used to live in London. We had a hallway.
My boy loves to ride his scooter and just went straight into the room.
And I think that's why a hallway is the perfect way to connect the rooms.
And seeing the result, especially with this beautiful mirror at the end of the hallway,
I think it enhances the lighting and makes the entire area feel even more special.
There are two children's rooms.
There's a boys' bedroom featuring a navy blue color scheme combined with white.
For a girl's room, in its accents we use the color pink.
One of my favorite spots is the bench by the window.
You can see the pool from upstairs. It's very refreshing.
Then in the main room, here there is a living area.
Since we still have young children, we like to gather together.
And I think it's very practical.
If we want to gather, we don't need to go downstairs.
The challenge is that the client wants a lot of storage and wardrobe space.
It's highly personalized.
Because I wear a hijab and I have countless colors of hijabs,
So I'm requesting a cabinet whose contents are hijabs.
I think it's truly, I mean, it's beyond our imagination.
It's truly indescribable.
We're absolutely thrilled because everything is just perfect.
If I had to choose, my favorite area is probably the living room.
Because it's the heart of the house.
We can do anything we want around here.
Also, my son loves swimming.
And from this living room, we can simply watch our children swimming.
while preparing some snacks and doing everything here.
So I think it's the heart of the building.
And the design is very American, yet still features a modern touch.
I love being in this living room.
