Todd Hutchings has long been one of the best pound-for-pound athletes in all of
armwrestling. He has consistently proved that he can compete with, and defeat, the
very best on the world stage. And at 59 years old, he's not showing any signs of
slowing down. But as an armwrestler in your mid to late 50s, surely it is
impossible to avenge a loss against a world-class athlete who is a weight
class above you and over 20 years younger. At least, that's what people
thought.
Our next match is Todd versus Evgeny. 5 foot 9 and 220 pounds. Ladies and gentlemen, you
know him as Todd Zillah. Todd Hutchings, from Ukraine. He is 34 years of age, 6 foot 1,
and 242 pounds. Evgeny Prudnik. I think Prudnik wants to take away Todd's main
weapon in the first round. One foul each at the moment. Let's go. Round 1. Oh my goodness,
Evgeny Prudnik. He's reminding us all, too. Look at that. You can see the celebration
there. We see the emotion. He'd been very calm up until that point, but that pin, he
just made a point. Oh, too good. Evgeny Prudnik is a monster. Too good. He just
isolates the hand and wrist of Todd Hutchings, and he can't get that world
famous side pressure down. As Evgeny looks out to the crowd, he's like,
are you not entertained? There's the side pressure. Oh my goodness. Look at Prudnik.
Wow. He shrugs that one off. He's going to rub it. There it is. There's the rub. The head rub.
The signature Todd Zillah move done back to him by Evgeny Prudnik. All smiles there. Both
amazing performances there. Evgeny Prudnik is your 110 kilo world number one now.
Despite Todd Zillah's best effort, he was completely shut down by Prudnik. He had no
answer for the power and center table control of the man from Ukraine. And up
to this point, it may have been the most dominant we have seen any athlete be
against him. How would a man in his late 50s possibly be able to overcome such a
formidable opponent? To most, it seemed impossible. But to Todd Hutchings, it was
necessary. They love Todd here. Of course they do. Last time these guys met, Evgeny
Prudnik showed absolute dominance. Facing each other in a rematch. Let's see,
has enough time passed? The Todd has made the adjustments. This time, Evgeny coming
down to the same weight class, 105 kilos. Our household names when it comes to the
whole East vs. West product. What an extraordinary opportunity for Todd Zillah.
All that has to happen is this match needs to stop and Todd Zillah will take
over. Prudnik climbs, again moving his elbow forward. Oh, this match is done. Todd Zillah is going to beat Prudnik. I see it right now.
Todd Zillah is gonna win this rematch.
1-0 Todd Hutchings with a vengeance. Unbelievable. Who would have known being as old as Todd Hutchings that you can surpass a younger athlete in a rematch in such fashion.
Immediately, this match is a completely different story. This time, it is Todd
Hutchings completely controlling the center and even with his wrist kicked
back, his raw side pressure is simply too much and he achieves the round one pin.
Does Prudnik have something else up his sleeve or have we already seen
everything he has to offer?
Off the go, it appeared as if Todd Zillah attempted a top roll out of the
straps but it quickly snapped into a hook. Once the hook was set, Todd once
again displayed his unrelenting side pressure and drove Prudnik to the pad
letting out a triumphant roar. With Prudnik now losing in and out of the
strap in this match, it seemed ominous for him.
He does it so well. We saw him before. And he gets the 3-0. Thank you. Amazing victory. Amazing victory, Todd Hutchings. Truly, truly incredible performance. What a comeback. What a revenge match. You are incredible, Todd Hutchings.
While it was the longest Prudnik was able to hold up in any round, the result was
just the same. Simply too much pressure from Todd Zillah and with that he
secured his revenge. This comeback story is nothing short of remarkable and is
just another incredible achievement in the legendary career of Todd Hutchings.
