Thereās no way I could explore the food culture of New York City without diving into arguably its most famous food, pizza! Come with me as I head out on an epic pizza tour of Manhattan in NYC!
My boy Marco and I started our New York pizza tour at Joeās Pizza, which has been a staple in Manhattan since 1975. Itās an iconic spot that epitomizes New York Pizza!

They take cash only and sell by the slice. We got two slices of cheese pizza for $3.25 each. You add some parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes on top. Then, you fold it and eat!
I loved the tomato sauce and fluffy dough. The cheese was also great. It was a nice, wide slice with a thin crust and no grease. This is real, simple NY-style pizza!
Thereās another Joeās location nearby that was used in the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies. Itās also a celebrity hotspot and has been visited by everyone from Rosario Dawson to Bradley Cooper!
Next, we walked about 10-15 minutes to Lombardiās on Spring Street. Itās the oldest pizzeria in America and dates back to 1905! They have several pizzas on the menu but their most popular is the Famous Clam Pie!
The pizza is expensive at $32, but they say itās worth it. The pizza reminded me of a focaccia bread with clams, parsley, basil, and romano cheese.
Itās super crispy and a more Neopolitan-style pizza. It looked like a white pizza. The clams were small but werenāt overly fishy or salty. Adding lemon to it gave it a citrusy kick and worked perfectly with the clams!
Iāve eaten pizza all over the world, including in Italy, but this was one of my favorite pizzas of all-time! They donāt skimp on the clams at all!
Then, we walked to the Little Italy neighborhood. I could see the Italian flag everywhere. There were lots of restaurants everywhere including gelaterias, cannoli places, and more. They all had terraces becasue of the pandemic.
Our last stop was Maneros, which takes credit cards only. It costs $3 each for a slice. We got two plain with Neopolitan crusts. You fold it and go to town.
The slice was so different from Lombardiās. We addes some Mikeās Hot Honey, which is infused with chilies. I added some red pepper flakes as well.
The hot honey was unbelievable. It wasnāt too spicy and added nice flavor and paired so well with the cheese. I couldnāt get enough of it! What an amazing way to end our pizza tour of Manhattan!
