Here is the Precinct of Mut at Karnak, Egypt. It lies south-east of the Karnak complex directly opposite the Tenth Pylon gateway but must be acessed from the gate near the Temple of Khonsu OR by walking up from the Temple of Luxor along the Sphinx Avenue. You MUST buy your Mut ticket (200 EGP in 2026) from the Karnak ticket office or from the intermediate ticket office along the Sphinx Avenue where you can also buy your Karnak ticket, if coming from Luxor. The site is poorly presented and parts of it degraded further by rubbish and excrement (which also afflict the Sphinx Avenue). There are three principal temples and the swampy sacred lake. The most obvious features are the numerous statues of Sekhmet, mostly brought from Amenhotep III's mortuary temple by Shoshenq I. This video serves as an archival record of the site's state on 30 March 2026.
