Surrounding tank forces initiated fire against known locations and exit points of terror tunnels, compelling the Hamas fighters to seek refuge inside these tunnels and return to their command positions. As they entered these command stations, they were taken by surprise to find IDF soldiers waiting for them.
The IDF successfully neutralized many Hamas fighters and gathered valuable intelligence, including maps and plans detailing Hamas' intentions to target soldiers in the Gaza Strip, among other critical information. In the heart of the Gaza Strip, the IDF widened the corridor it had created to facilitate a constant supply of resources to its troops and began establishing long-term positions within the Gaza Strip to support the forces engaged in the Palestinian enclave during the ongoing battles.
