In the middle of one of Kochi’s busiest neighborhoods, this home creates its own private tropical sanctuary. HAVEN Residence proves how courtyards, light, and natural materials can transform a challenging urban plot into a serene living space.

Located near Vyttila Junction, the house sits on an irregular site that is narrow at the front and wider towards the rear. The design adopts an introverted planning strategy where courtyards become the heart of the home, bringing in natural light, ventilation, and greenery while maintaining privacy from neighboring houses.

A continuous east west visual axis connects the entrance sit-out to the rear veranda, creating a natural airflow path through the house. Skylights above the central courtyard add a dynamic play of light throughout the day.

With rat-trap bond brickwork, Kota stone, exposed concrete, reclaimed wood, and tropical landscaping, the residence creates a warm, earthy ambiance while integrating sustainable features like solar panels and rainwater harvesting.
