Yes, we're back with yet another insane matchup. Today, it's Mini versus McLaren. In fact,
it's my tuned McLaren versus, well, quite frankly, the craziest Mini you might just ever see,
driven by an even crazier driver. Stay tuned, because what you're about to witness
is absolutely bonkers. Let's get over and meet today's cars and their owners.
First up today, introducing, are you ready? Professional racing driver and self-proclaimed
wannabe content creator, Monster Energy athlete, four times X Games medalist, two of them gold,
and ex-regular front runner in World Rallycross, European Rallycross, and Nitro Rallycross.
It's one of the few men nutty enough to pilot this insane build. Welcoming Liam Duran to the races,
stepping up to race me in his absolutely absurd 2024 3.2-litre RPE Hayabusa rear-mounted V8-powered
500bhp Class 7 Autograss Mini pickup. Yes, you heard right. This Mini runs a Hayabusa-based V8,
meaning two 1.3-litre four-cylinder Hayabusa engines stuck together in a V8 configuration,
which has then been bored and stroked to a 3.2. Madness. And he's going to be stepping up against
me, Jamie. Unfortunately, with not so many accolades, but we did just hit 1 million subscribers,
baby. Let's go. And I'm pulling up in my 2019 3.8-litre V8 twin-turbo-powered 775bhp McLaren
600LT. Let's get over and get some sound checks and specs.
And as usual, we'll be extracting all of today's race data from our V-Box Performance Box Touch
GPS timing tools. And first up today is the quarter-mile roll races. Place your bets and
let's get it. All right, guys. Racing Liam Duran. Shout out to Liam Duran each and every time,
but that Mini is just way too wild. Way too wild. Now, obviously, I want to win. I know everyone at
home wants to see me lose, but I've got a bad feeling that you guys, you're all going to be
disappointed because I'm going to be taking the W today. Shout out to McLaren and shout out to
Just bear in mind, right, that Mini has got around, I want to say 1,000bhp per tonne,
or very, very close. 500bhp, 550kg or something like that. But yeah, it's wild.
It's wild. Yeah. All right, cool. Well, this is how it's going to be then, boys.
And today, we've been joined by some very special hosts, but who could it be?
Yo, OG Battles, yeah? You got all six ones, number one. Hosting is claiming one thing,
Jamie's racing, yeah? I'd like to introduce you all to a special guest. Where's he at?
I'm here. We've got Mr. Shoe Whiter in the building,
yeah? It's the dream team. We're going head to head.
Listen, brother. Right, so this race is a special one. We've got Jamie in the McLaren 600LT.
Lovely. And we've also got Liam in the Mini with a twin Hayabusa engine,
scatty patty. I've heard this thing is crazy, bro.
Wheelie machine, it does its thing, yeah? Now, I'm a good guy and you're my guy,
so I'm going to let you take your pick of which car you want to back and then that's yours for
the event today. Who are you going for, bro? Liam in the Mini.
You're going for the Mini? I'm going Mini.
Yeah? I don't know how much it weighs.
Not much. But I think that's gone.
Yeah? From the dig, that's gone.
You got the Mini? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
May the best man win. Yeah, Mini all day.
Come on, Jamie. Don't let me down, you know, brother.
The Mini's winning this. I'm telling you, the Mini's winning this.
Are you ready for this race then, Jamie? For a race?
Come on.
Oh, he's up.
He's quick. Look at the wheelie.
Wheelie and a home run. The Mini's got it.
Come on. That's Mini, that.
I think McLaren. That is Mini.
I think Jamie had him, I'll be real. Let me check.
See how quick it just banged. Go on, go on, go on, go on.
Finish line, who won that and by how much?
What you got to say to that, bro? What have you got to say to that, bro?
It looked like it won. It looked...
Forget how it looked. From the dig, it was...
Forget how it looked. The facts are the McLaren won.
1-0 to Jamie. Round two, let's go.
He beat me. He beat me, Mark, to be fair.
I was in the lead. I was definitely, definitely in the lead.
And that wheel's on ground.
He said, yeah, well, my car's driving itself. Yeah, I know.
Shout out to Liam because he is driving that.
When the front wheel is about 10...
Listen, listen, listen. That was a bit of BTS, yeah?
The McLaren maybe 1-0 up, but that Mini is the people's champ.
Look at it. Am I wrong, bro?
No, you're right, you're right.
Listen. Wow.
A V8 Mini? This is wild.
That's intimidating.
Oh, no.
He's wheeling again. He's wheeling again.
Aerodynamics of this McLaren just come into their own.
It's McLaren again, but, mate, brownie points to that Mini.
He has got some... He's got big balls, mate.
That was on rails. That was on rails.
And he was just like this all the way down the strip then.
Honestly, Liam in that Mini has got some big cojones, mate,
because that thing is all over the strip.
Who had that then? Who's the Mini at?
Finish line. Go on, give us the results.
2-0. 2-0 to the McLaren, bro.
I'm buying tea then, you know.
Tea, yeah. You're buying for the whole squad.
2-0 McLaren. Let's go.
I had him again, but just cannot.
He's so fast now. The big rear tyres have given me more speed,
but more speed has meant more wind.
And, yeah, more wind means more wheelies.
So, as much as you lot might be enjoying it, it's killing me.
Obviously, the ES saws too.
But at the top of the track, that just starts wheeling.
My car hunkers down. It looks like I take the rolls.
Let's go.
He beat me.
This car's faster. This car is faster.
From the hit, I get him for sure.
But the problem is the wind's just too strong
and I'm just trying to do a backflip.
Liam, do you know what's happening?
It's two different variants of aerodynamics, I think.
My car hunkers down up top. Your one goes up.
I can't stop it. It just goes. It's nuts.
It's so crazy to see that, bro.
As I'm driving, I'm like 120 miles an hour.
Your front wheel's doing that.
I'm like, what is going on?
Right. I've got you on the drags, on the rolls.
Now it's time for the drags.
Let's line up. Let's line up.
It's on. It's on.
It's on, bro. It's on.
So, as you see, 2-0 to Jamie.
So we're going straight to the drag racing.
Now, this is where things are going to get interesting.
Yeah.
600LT, Stage 2, 700 plus horsepower, but rear-wheel drive.
And then we've got Liam in the Hayabusa-powered Mini.
It's like Frankenstein.
It is like a Frankenstein.
Frankenstein.
Now, also rear-wheel drive, but weighs, what, 500 kilograms?
A lot less.
This is going to be interesting.
I'm backing my guy. 2-0.
But listen, on to the drag racing now.
On to the drag racing.
So...
Shoot you!
Ready, set, go.
Adaptation.
Try that.
So, ready...
Remember, it's like this. It's like yoga.
Ready, set, go.
All right, this is where it gets a bit mad,
because it is a slight bit damp right now,
and he has got knobbly tyres on,
so this is going to be a bit mad.
Anyway, ready.
Ready?
Ready.
Set.
Go!
Let's go!
Right.
Right, we need a referee's decision on this one here.
We need some VAR,
because, in all honesty,
I think my corner jumped the start.
Really?
I think so.
I was too busy looking at the minute.
I think so.
Finish line, finish line.
Who won that, and by how much?
Thank you.
Right, so technically 1-0 McLaren,
but, like I said, it looked like,
I'm going to be honest,
it gave me a jump at the start there.
We need a VAR reply on that one there.
But let's go round two anyway.
Let's do it.
I'll tell you what,
until the wind really gets under his car,
and he's giving it full throttle,
that we're not neck and neck.
Like, the car, we're pretty much neck and neck
until his car starts lifting,
and then, obviously, he has to back off the throttle.
What he must be like driving that, God knows,
because it's scary driving this
at these speeds on this runway.
I think so.
I think he jumped the start.
I think he did.
Whoa!
Oh, s***.
I ain't going right.
Stay there!
Did I jump?
Nah, it's just lightning reactions, bro.
He thinks I jumped the first one.
Let me know in the comments,
did I jump or am I Spider-Man?
But we have come up against some unexpected issues.
Liam's Hayabusa Mini has just lost its cooling fan,
and she's overheating.
We lost the radiator fan again,
so it's got hot.
So we're just trying to figure out what it was.
We fixed it.
We changed the fuse.
It worked, but now it's not working again.
So we need to try and work out what it is.
Probably one more race and Jamie's going to beat me,
but it's not far off.
On top of ongoing gear selector issues.
But it ain't going to stop him.
Liam's going to let her cool down
and send it one more time for the culture.
What do you reckon we run with the bonnet off?
So we don't get any uplift?
So I think it's that whole front clamp that lifts.
Yeah, it's the bulkhead.
It's just creating a f***ing lift.
So if we run the bonnet off,
it actually might hit the bulkhead
and go over the roof rather.
Yeah.
I mean, it's worth trying, isn't it?
It'd look terrible.
Oi!
No jump starting!
Wait for the arm to go down.
Cheater!
Ready?
Set.
Let's go!
He's got me!
Go!
Come on!
He's got me!
How did he even do that?
That looked like Mini.
That did look like Mini.
I might give you that one there.
Finish line, finish line.
Who won that one and by how much?
I wasn't catching that.
I don't run in nice 10 second quarter miles.
What? He must be running.
God knows.
Yes!
My cheat!
How did you do that?
I left my bonnet off.
Well, I beat you.
Someone's got to win.
Yeah, all right.
Let's do it.
All right, then let's go.
Let's go.
What happened?
How did you lose that?
He took his bonnet off.
Now it doesn't wheelie.
Oh, bro.
Come on, give it a little bit more.
My money's on you, bro.
How does that Mini even drive like that?
It's like driving looking at Jesus.
Ready?
Set.
Go!
Let's go!
Oh, dammit!
Dammit!
Yeah, yeah.
Technical difficulties.
But at the end of the day, a win's a win.
Whether you win by an inch or by a mile.
Famous quote, that.
Jamie, 2-1.
Finish line.
I don't even need you to tell me the result.
We already know who won that.
McLaren.
Shooter, it's been a pleasure.
OG Battles.
0-1, 6-1, represent us.
Absolutely.
Something happened.
I know his car wasn't happy or something happened.
But you know what?
I'll have it.
Sorry, Liam.
Sorry, spinner wheelies can't save you today, son.
That's my win.
Let's go!
Light work.
Yeah.
Light work.
Come on.
Team Jamie for the win.
How could a mini ever think he could come to this runway and beat me?
Are you mad?
Light work.
Easy.
I wasn't phased.
And on that one there, peace.
I lost gears.
Oh, is it?
They come back now?
Yeah.
Okay, cool.
Well, listen, bro.
But honestly, you see that second run?
I couldn't catch you.
You were gone.
It's the only time that actually I could stay on the throttle.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It was crazy because-
I only get halfway and I have to lift to control the wheelie.
So basically, I'm doing almost the whole way, just wheeling.
Yeah, yeah.
Whereas that last one, I stayed in it.
I was on it.
I couldn't believe the difference because what was usually happening is me and you were neck and neck.
Yeah.
And then you'd wheelie and I'll go.
Yeah.
But this time you got off and you were pulling and I couldn't catch you.
All the way.
And you kept going.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
That is like-
You see how fast this can actually move?
It's so, so fast that we actually got that last race in.
It's bad weather.
Absolutely insane.
But who actually ran the fastest times?
Let's check the data recorded using our V-Box PBTs
and extracting the data using RaceLogic's test suite software.
And I'm happy to announce that your boy and the 600LT lay down the fastest times,
going 100 to 200 kph in just 4.92 seconds,
beating Liam's best time of 5.67 seconds.
Not too shabby for a bumpy wet runway, hey?
And then taking a look over at the fastest quarter mile and 0 to 60 times achieved,
this is where things get extremely close.
However, this time round, Liam actually lays down the fastest time, but only just.
He makes it to the quarter mile in just 10.65 seconds at a speed of 129 mph,
just beating my 600LT's best time of 10.73 seconds at a speed of 137 mph.
And then taking a look over at the fastest 0 to 60 times achieved,
that Mini truly comes into its own,
hitting 60 in just 2.83 seconds on a damp runway.
Crazy.
Beating my McLaren's best time of 3.26 seconds.
That's data to paint a clearer picture.
What an absolute madness we just witnessed.
That Hayabusa V8 Mini came out swinging.
The first vehicle ever, and quite possibly the last,
to cross the quarter mile line on its rear wheels here at the battles.
500bhp, 550kg.
Honestly, it's just madness.
Literally trying to lift off every time it hooks up.
Liam Duran is a certified madman.
The 600LT and that ES tune, helped along by McLaren's top tier aero,
really came alive in the rolls.
It just hunkered down, stayed planted,
and although running slightly off pace due to conditions,
manages to take both runs.
But the drags got real interesting.
I took the first one, the Mini then whipped his bonnet off,
came back strong and took the second one.
Then in the decider, the Mini's gearbox called it a day,
leaving it pretty open-ended.
I guess I'll let the comments speculate who would have won.
Still, a massive shout out to Liam for coming down
and driving the hell out of that wheelie machine, for the culture.
And a massive thank you to MSB and MSW for keeping the vibes vibing today.
Links to Liam and MSB can be found down below in the description.
Go and show some love.
So guys, let me know at home,
did the races pan out the way you thought they would?
And of course, if you could only own one of the two,
which one would it be and why?
What you witnessed today was nothing short of epic
and is definitely worth a thumbs up.
And if you like this type of content, please consider subscribing,
because we'll be back, same time, same place,
with another legendary OG battle.
Peace out.
