Hey everyone, welcome to my vlog. Today I will show you a day in my life.
On a regular school day I usually wake up around 6 30 a.m. Today is going to be a tight schedule
but I will try to show you everything. Throughout the year we are able to immerse ourselves in the
environment and connect with the beauty of nature. With each passing season we can see a variety of
animals such as groundhogs, squirrels, and deer. I like to chase groundhogs in the summer but I never
Breakfast is available for dorm students from Monday through Sunday.
It's buffet style. You can get whatever you want, always go back for seconds.
After breakfast I head to my homeroom class which starts at 7 40 and is located in D building on the
other side of the campus. We use our IDs to get inside. Some of us rush to finish homework at this
time. At the beginning of the homeroom we listen to morning announcements where our school will
talk about the current events and message of the day. AP U.S. History is my first subject.
This is my teacher, Ms. Sibian. She gives us cookies which makes me enjoy the class even more.
Smart devices are not allowed on campus. Every high school student has a Chromebook to do online
work. Most classes have a small student to teacher ratio allowing us to have closer interactions with
our teachers and fellow classmates. After APUSH it's time to go to physics. Usually it is in D
building but today we are going to see where the science labs are located to conduct larger
classes with labs and hands-on activities. Right now we're doing a physics lab and we're trying
to find the force using the acceleration and the velocity. This graph will report also.
Okay thank you. We're using a tracker like this and connecting it to the computer and here are my
team members. We're on our way to class right now and we're late because we just came back from the
lab and we're enjoying some nice weather today. Later I have AP Microeconomics, AP Calculus,
and Northern Horizon. We always have five classes in the morning before the lunch period.
In the B building you'll discover a vibrant mix of spaces that truly define our school experience.
It's home to the ping pong tables, cafeteria, music and dance rooms where students can practice
their arts. Lunch here follows a similar pattern to breakfast. Boys and girls are seated separately
because of the no intimacy rule with a daily rotation of dishes that fuels eastern and western
flavors. For instance some days we'll have dumplings and other days we'll have pasta or pizza.
We've got plenty of vegetarian options available as well. Despite our diverse student body coming
from around the globe everyone can find something they'll enjoy. In the afternoon we have electives
and co-curriculars. Now that I finished lunch I will start my afternoon classes. I have French
in sixth period which is one of the foreign languages offered here at Northern. After my
electives I have Science Olympiad where we work in different teams in order to compete with other
students from different schools. Now I am meeting with my astronomy coach and learning how to
calculate astronomical distances. We meet once a week for each of my three events including tower
and ride it do it. Our goal this year is to advance to nationals. Students have plenty of
opportunities to play sports during the week as we offer sports as co-curricular activities.
You can pick from various options like volleyball, tennis, soccer, ping pong, badminton and basketball.
We can also work out at the gym and the shuttle bus picks us up for all the off-campus activities.
We complete our day by having dinner at the cafeteria. The head chef sometimes brings us
new dishes such as my new favorite bacon potato egg salad with mayonnaise. At night I choose to
dedicate my time to Northern Horizon, a project-based class that offers students the flexibility to
select projects across various fields, each tailored to develop practical skills relevant
to real-world careers. It emphasizes collaboration as a team and building our abilities over time in
order to prepare us to complete the projects assigned. They span a wide range including
tasks related to video editing, graphic design, programming, marketing and business management.
This concludes my day and I will head back to dorms to finish my homework and unwind.
I hope you guys enjoyed seeing a day in my life and if you want
