In today’s episode we are going to enjoy Yellowstone National Park. Enjoy this beautiful national park while I drive my motorcycle through the Flat Tops Road and teach you how to make a fire, where to camp and all the most beautiful parks of this 150-year-old national park. To clarify, I wasn't able to capture the moment the bison was agitated with my motorcycle, it did look and taunt me and seemed like it was about to attack but I moved away and they we had a fun little chase where eventually he abruptly crosses my path on the road. It was a very unique and powerful moment. Bison / Buffalo do not like motorcycle sounds or people, join me as I ride and explore Yellowstone National park on my motorbike and almost get wrecked as it runs across the road right in front of me, I check out old faithful, geysers, show you how to make a fire, where to camp and all the most beautiful parks of this 150 year old national park. To clarify, I wasn't able to capture the moment the bison was agitated with my motorcycle, it did look and taunt me and seemed like it was about to attack but I moved away and they we had a fun little chase where eventually he abruptly cross my path on the road. It was a very unique and powerful moment. Join me on my motorcycle road trip in 60 days on a Yamaha Tenere 700. Welcome to Days 4-8 of my cross country journey I embarked on to disconnect from the world, find myself again, re-discover my passion for film making and discover a part of the world I haven't seen in detail before, and I want to bring you along for the adventure.

Yeah, this is why you come out here the Yellowstone look at this how incredible is that so close
All right, so last night I decided to get a hotel room because it's been like three four days just camping out
So yeah, every about four days five days
We try to get a hotel just to kind of shower clean stuff and get things organized
And yeah, luckily we have very nice parking today
It's not too difficult to bring stuff in and out
But sometimes there's hotels where you got to go in the second floor
You have to carry all the boxes because all my camera gear all my laptop is here. So yeah fortunate
We got a first floor today because it's not fun doing that. Yeah every day
Basically, it's taking bags on taking bags off and you know, it's it's hard
It's really it's really physically difficult to just do it every single day
Do the straps do the things carry the boxes and that's just a difficulty of a motorcycle trip around the world
Yeah, it just it's such a mental mind game to just
Keep convincing yourself to keep doing it and that the pain is worth it and it's all gonna be okay
But yeah
There's the times that you just wish you had an RV or a mobile home and you could just walk in walk out be nicely
Showered all the time have everything super easy for you. Just park anywhere you want. But no got to do it on the motorcycle
So, I don't know. I'm starting to think RV sounds really nice these days, but
You know, the motorcycle is adventurous. It's unique
It makes the trip cheaper as well
But it definitely connects you with the road and the experience a little better than RV camp
So, all right, we're gonna pack up the bike here and hopefully have the Yellowstone National Park today
Hey, we just finished gassing up and in total for both of us
It's $21 and we did 4.5 gallons, which is kind of nice car would be about three times that much. So
Pretty cool. I love driving a bike. It's one of the reasons you drive a bike even though it's just a pain in the ass to
Always be putting your stuff on and off and taking and that's just this whole thing. Yellowstone National Park. Here we come
Look at this beautiful road the Yellowstone. So if some of you're wondering how I entertain myself on the road endless hours
well, I basically
Just listen to music a lot of the time
What's cool about the communicators? I'm using there's semi communicators
I can actually share the music with anybody in this case grace back there
But most of the time we each play our own music actually
But yeah, basically I sometimes listen to the news I usually do it my NPR
Listening list my global BBC global news podcast as well. I check out the local stock market news
I did trending stuff. So yeah, I basically I keep myself busy
Listening to stuff and thinking about life and just enjoying the moment hours and hours a day
I'm sitting here on the motorcycle is basically like sitting at an office
So I'm not doing something if I'm not answering emails if I'm not
Thinking about how to progress business how to do videos shooting something
I'm basically just wasting a lot of time
Basically some guy wanted to have a big mansion and he started building his house like absolute crazy and that's what developed
Basically, it's not really structurally sound. It's a private. He doesn't give anybody any tours
basically, it was just his dream to have a big tall house and
Yeah, it's kind of interesting, huh
I welcome the Yellowstone National Park currently here waiting around because we're trying to find a campsite and
Reservations are usually booked up to six months in advance. But luckily sometimes there's first-come first-served and that's what we're in line for right now
It's a bit complicated. But yeah, it's America's busiest park. It's the world's very first National Park and this year
They're celebrating a hundred years. I mean 150 years of being open, which is super cool
So everybody is out here trying to experience and enjoy
National Park only complaint so far is that it seems to be very
confusing
Yeah, it's a little disorganized here people yelling around people not where they're supposed to be it's uh, yeah, it's kind of
Experience a mama bear black bear come in here with her kids. So they're here. I am more concerned about
Anything
That would attract anything
In the car in the bear box and so what seemed like an attorney which was actually about half hour 45 minutes almost
It feels like
How long was it half an hour?
So after half an hour finally got camping
It was the almost the only spot left so very rare that you can walk in and first-come first-served campsite
Obviously reservations is the way to do it now. They changed the whole system. So there we got very very lucky
Basically, it's not first-come first-served. It's the fact that there was an open reservation and
Park ranger basically made the reservation which you got to do online
But I've heard that it's up to six months of a reservation before
You come here because it can get very very busy
So I've got a crappy little campsite for $34 and that is gonna be the evening for us
So welcome to lunch currently at the general store of Yellowstone and
Had to buy a bunch of random crap to eat because there's nothing around this National Park
On the menu today we have salt and pepper chips with turkey cheese wrap
Grace has a red bull
Yeah, very very common piece of food item
Hydration and food break off we go how close that Buffalo is to the road
I mean, this is why everybody stops and tries to take pictures and it's just a bit of a nightmare
But yeah, look how close nature is that's absolutely amazing that the Bison's right there and there's a grizzly bear right over there
And he's walking straight towards it
What's gonna happen?
So definitely one of the best feelings after a long day of riding and super super hot weather is taking boots off
Finally getting some freedom from the feet because man these motorcycle boots, although they're incredibly protective
And if a motorcycle falls on them, these are the boots you want to have on your feet and your ankles
They do not breathe well at all. So yeah, it is a it's very stuffy in there
And you know, these boots are brand new
I've had them for maybe two weeks now
But any boot really starts smelling after about two three weeks and that's what's starting to happen with these
But that happens any boot honestly just cuz it's just if you're always sweating it just starts adding up
so anyway, best part of the evening is arriving making my home for the night and
Taking my boots off. Oh, what a relief. So nice. Well, here we are camp. It's beautiful. It's amazing and people always ask me
So, how are you feeding yourself? How are you eating? Well, I'll tell you what I'm gonna do today. What's for dinner?
So first of all, whenever I heat water up
I use this thing called a jet boil jet boil basically in about a minute and a half almost two minutes
It heats up a whole thing of water and I can use that water for dehydrated food. I can use it for
What is tonight's dinner, which is this ramen dried ramen?
Luckily, I do have a sandwich though. So I'm probably a sandwich as well
beef jerky
So that's what's for dinner on the menu
So this is really an essential thing for camping because you can always use hot water if you're out in a dangerous situation
You can boil water from a river to make it drinkable and you can cook warm food on it every time
So really this this thing is really a lifesaver. So definitely recommend it
Also, you always want to have some sort of flashlight thing going on
Because light is very important
so I usually just carry one or two or three different light sources some of the light sources are actually the camera light that I
Have and that I use and some of the light sources are for the headlamps
so today we're gonna start a fire as well because it's gonna be super super cold outside and
You see behind me. We got the fire pit. I got my little
Galleries are getting my throat
All right, as I was saying, so today we're gonna make a campfire because it's gonna be very very cold out tonight. And yeah, so
one way to start a fire is through these little fire starters that you see here and
basically, they're doused in
flammable something and they just basically light up gels or you can use some sort of camp fuel or
Man I'm so tired. This is kindling for your fire. You can basically break logs together
You can make a little thing and I'll show you today how I like to make fires
I personally like the teepee one
You put a lot of kindling smaller pieces of wood on the very bottom and then use bigger logs
So that kind of ignites the bottom and it kind of works its way up
And you also have the other technique that you do like a brick house
Basically, it's just two logs next to each other and that's also very good, especially in very high wind situations
This is definitely my go-to for sure
So those are some of the techniques I use for campfire making and I always love having a fire when I'm camping because it boosts
Your morale it keeps you warm and it's just something kind of fun and rustic and very caveman to do
So I really enjoy kind of just living off the land and just trying to survive
So it's really kind of really big moral booster and kind of this experience that I really really enjoy
So it brings you back to your roots of what you know being a humans all about just so I'm gonna go make my dinner
And that's gonna be the end of my day. So I guess I'll see you guys tomorrow
So welcome to 7 a.m. It is freezing out here it is probably like 48 degrees Fahrenheit
It's pretty darn cold, especially while driving a motorcycle
We put up the camp and now we are about to go check out the morning
Experience of Yellowstone and I remember this temperature last because January of this year. I was in East Europe
Traveling in the winter if you can imagine I haven't posted those videos because I just haven't edited them and I was still on my break
But you'll get those videos hopefully soon on YouTube
But I feel the windchill factor now and basically I am reminded of how miserable I was for about two months traveling through
the crazy countries of East Europe
Pita grips, which is very nice, which I did not have and man I would have killed
Killed to have these things called hippo hands
These hippo hands basically protect you from the wind wind chill the cold the rain and man
I would have loved to have had these in January
But man, my hands were so cold so often because I was getting on the bike getting off the bike
I was stopping to take pictures
These things would have saved my butt. So I really wish I would have had him before but anyway
They were super nice to send me out some some of their hippo hands to try and I am a huge fan
Yeah, this is why you come out here the Yellowstone. Look at this
How incredible is that?
So close check it out. We got a little geyser over here. Beautiful Grace is changing her battery for her GoPro
And this is actually a little loop that you can actually drive through which is very convenient because we do not like
Getting off the bike because these motorcycle boots are not meant
For hiking and for long walks, so it's kind of nice to have this tourist site very close. Look at this guys
beautiful sulfur
Mountain is what it looks like
very cool
Ah
Taking a quick break to enjoy this gorgeous view and also the Sun is finally hitting us directly
So it's nice to finally warm up a little bit because it is cold. Whoo
It's now about 53 degrees Fahrenheit
so a little bit of Sun goes a long way and that's the thing most people don't think about when you're driving a motorcycle is
It looks very nice. Very romantic
Reality is it's very very cold with the wind chill
So definitely got layers on but the Sun is always your best friend. Yellowstone is really a special park
there's just so much to see it's so vast and
there's just
So much beauty around so all over Yellowstone
There's all these little stores and it's little general stores, which is kind of nice and convenience and they got gas and they got
Sandwiches, which is what's for breakfast today. It is a cranberry chicken salad on nine grain bread
Yeah, there's a lot of bread not a lot of salad in there
but
Only real good thing available around here
I currently made it to the Old Faithful and we're waiting for it to explode
It usually goes about every hour or so
It used to be very constant but that's changed over the years and I am NOT the only one that is waiting to see this
There's a huge
amount of people on that
It's quite the popular tourist attraction I like to call it the Disneyland of National Park attractions
Well, this is the old Yellowstone Inn
This is a hotel that is there in the very center of the park and what's very interesting about it is obviously the decor is
Very beautiful, but there is a little crows or birds nest up there that many many years ago
There used to be like a band or an orchestra that would be playing and you'd hear it as soon as you walked into the building
Super cool super historic and it's hundreds of years old this place. So it's super awesome
