We picked up the Apolosign K106A kids tablet as a replacement, and honestly, it shows why these budget tablets still make sense. Instead of going for expensive options, this one focuses on what actually matters — parental control, durability, and ease of use. With Android Go, a 10-inch display, and full integration with Google Kids Space and Family Link, it gives parents full control while keeping kids safely locked into a controlled environment. It’s not perfect, but for around $70, it does exactly what it needs to do. In this video, we walk through setup, features, issues we faced, and how to properly configure it so your child can’t bypass restrictions.

What's up guys today, we are looking at this new version of kids tablet
I have actually ordered it for my son. He already had one
But he broke the screen. So here we are
the reason I go with these tablets instead of the
other one by Samsung and others is because first these are
Cheap and they work with Google Kids space, which is like a must-have for me
Any tablet I want to buy for my kids
it must have them because it locks this screen instead of letting them go to the home screen of the device and you can
control all these things from your
App, so all my kids are here
this is my son Ibrahim that I
Give him a new tab. He already had one. So that's why he's registered yet, but
Since he broke that one. So here we are with the new one
These are cheaper. Like I think I got it for $70. They have come with a nice little cover that
and overall I think
They're good value for money
Good enough for the kids. This is
maybe Apollo sign model number is k106a and
It is a new version because it is coming with I think Android 15 usually these I have seen these
Kids tablet coming with older generation of Android go
So that's why and I think all these kids tablet come with Android go
So they are optimized to run on low memory. This one is 1080p 10-inch screen
64 GB
Memory, which is more than enough for kids
Okay, let's check it out
The RAM would be I think around 3 GB
I don't think it would be more than that and then they use swap to increase the RAM after that
usually these have a
Battery capacity of 5,000 to 7,000. So we will see how much this one had. I didn't remember when I ordered it, but I
Don't remember it right now. So we will have to look at it overall. It came in a very good
packaging as you can see
extremely well packed and
Even if you unbox it, it looks premium and it doesn't feel like you ordered something very cheap
This is a plastic cover came
with this built-in stand
Can I open it more than that? I should be able to open it more than that
Okay, it's a little harder
To keep it locked in but yes, you can open it in different angles. You can even bring it on the front side
Like this or you can go on the back side
Okay, you have one camera here
Cameras aren't that important to me when I am ordering them. I have front camera here as well. They are possible
They are always possible. So that's good. You have the headphone jack here
volume button
then you have
On off do you have this is for memory card in case you want to insert it and type C
Charging port
Nothing
much else
So let's set it up
Each time you have to go through setting up kids to IC linking up your
password
account with the kids
Ask you a bunch of permissions because you need to link it and it is actually very tightly
Locked in
With this cover so it doesn't mean like it can easily take it off
So it protects us as well. You have an adapter
a type A to type C cable
What was supposed to be here?
Did I pull out anything? Not sure
User guide and what is this one year extended warranty?
That's it
Let's just hope that it has
Battery so that I can at least show you I'm actually trying to bring it out of the cover so that I can show you
How it looks
Inside it. It's just normal
entry-level
Tablet, nothing fancy, but let's still let me show you
Even for an adult like me
Trying my heart to not break it and bring it out. And here you are
it has a
plastic back
Creepy with a texture small little
LDD and this is the tablet and extremely likely
You have the speakers here. So this is what is inside it
Now, let's roll it back and then let me set it up
so that I
can show you how it is controlled and
What is Google Kids space for those of you who are not aware because many people I have seen that they just give their kids
The tab they don't know how to actually use the Google Kids space to take advantage of it
Let me turn on and hope that it has some battery
Let me turn off the studio lights
Let's see
One two
three
Nothing is happening. I have something here
Android Go edition. So these are Go edition. So the this is the Android OS that is
Optimized to run on low memory. So when you have 3GB you may be thinking who can run it on 3GB
These devices actually can run on 3GB very easily. So don't you worry about them
Drawbacks because you bought them cheaper
Not really good
display protection, so display may break very easily and
Brightness is not very high. But again you have making these for kids
Consume kids safe content so that shouldn't be an issue
Let's set it up. We have 86% battery life. So we should be able good to go
select Wi-Fi
Getting your tablet ready
You will need your phone
With the parent account to set it up. So you should keep it
beside you
It is asking you to transfer from backup
Let's see
Okay
It's going on. I am not looking to do that
Don't ask Google account and more. I'm just setting it up fresh. I don't have the other tablet
This is very important when you're setting up you
Select child don't
Set anything else
Sign in with child's account. You can create a new one or you can sign in with the child's account
I already have it. So I will sign it with the child's account
Okay, so I
Logged in with my son's account. Then it asked me about my account verification, which I did know it was asking to agree to terms
so
Let's go. No that login and everything is done. No, it is just setting things up
All right account and everything
Set up now. It is downloading Google Play services
And we are in now the last thing that we need to set up is
Google Kids space
I'll also provision
That down. Let's see Google Kids space
This is important Google Kids space
You must set it up
Set up
It is asking me for my password. I
Would say let's say try another way
It is asking me to select options. I can say review each app before install which will
Request success from me whenever my kid want to install anything. I'm going to go with LR teacher
approved apps with
Good enough for videos
High recommended apps within purchases high recommended apps with ads. I think ads is fine a bit
Actually, no they separate I
Can still manage all these things
From the family link app from my phone as well, but it is asking me here. So help block mature sites
Rule required for all sites. Let's do that because my kid is not even three years old
So I don't want him to accidentally open things up
except except
Did it not press and definitely press it?
Let's give it a second
Hold on now. It's your child turns like child can come in and select his preferences
But I'm going to do on his behalf so that when I had this tab over to him. He is ready
Doing full screen exit to exit swipe down from the top. Okay
And
Animal crafts science stories vehicle thing
Because I think all sounds good
Cooking let's not do that. What else push push
The bad thing about this super being and thing is that it takes quite a long his time
It is a time-taking process, but I think it is worth it. Once you're done. I think I already said
What more you're asking me to turn on
It is creating I think it's profile still asking me to sign in let me do that
Okay now make your character
Character to see all the styles tap through the circles at the top then swipe up
eyebrows
noses
mouths
hair
tops
What?
Think it is updating things in the background, which is making things a bit
weird
so let's go back to
Where is the kid space kid space?
Make your character
to see all the styles
top shoes
headwear
Eyewear keep picking more things when you like how your character looks tap here
Backpacks and stuff
assistive device
All right
The app is crashing again and again. This is the first time it has happened to me like this is me setting up the
fourth kids tab
And think it's happening probably because systems are being updated apps are being updated in the background
Once this is updates are done things you might like
It should not have to explore more stuff to do tap on these buttons
And we are good to go
You have apps
Chrome
Let me see more apps
My stuff here. You'll find apps in books
we have kids YouTube music and
bunch of other apps I would like to get rid of some of them, but
What the heck man?
How much time do you need to
Set up everything
So the idea is that the thing that I wanted to show you which the system is not letting me to show you
Letting me show you is that once you load up the skills face and everything is set up then
The kid should not be able to go back from this screen or this app anywhere
nowhere, okay
So
Show you if it'll
loads
Then hide this
Bottom controls bring them up. This is for the screenshot
This is for the volume control increase decrease, which is nice so that kids don't have to press the big buttons
Because kids can't use chat they are not good at gestures so you have the buttons here
Come on
Let's
try to
Load it again
You can also turn off the sound
Okay, you don't need to keep it on
So that everything turns itself off and now let me show you I think you should not be able to dismiss it
Let's see
I was able to dismiss it. I
Need to probably figure out let me give me a second. Okay, so I figured it out
it's you need to go inside the app settings of this kid space and then
There is an option called home app. You need to select it
When you will try to select it, it would say right now it is launcher
But you need to select it to kill space home app. And once you do that, it becomes a launcher
So it does not let you go back
To the home screen to do that you need again any kind of sex setting management needs to happen to the
Parents, so it will ask you to do the parent and oh and the phone to your parent all over the setting to be changed
Change the starting from the set family link
so
I'm going to go to the family link and then enable it
Let's see
so we have
There should be a device this is the device I can see it and
Control it right from here. You can also lock it
Yes, I need to name place on find it. All those permissions are here. You can control location
And give but get them to or not developer options date time
lock screen and access apps
unlinked apps
permissions
Storage then I have an equation shading. I have disabled it. That's fine
What else I?
Need to find that option
where
Can it be?
Need to figure it out
All right, so I figured it out
It was actually a bug in the kids space app because it wasn't supposed to do that
It never did actually in any of the previous tablets I set up
So after going through back and forth spending like an hour or so, I finally decided to
Clear it up the kids space app disable it and then re-enabled it
I wasn't able to uninstall it because this app is actually factory installed
So I can't uninstall it, but usually you could have done with uninstalling it as well, but I disabled it from family link app
Removed its updates and then restarted it set up set it up again
and now if I do
this and
see, so if I try to go back I
am locked in because
now this family link app is a
default launcher
This tablet one thing I would like to say somehow
Sometimes it gets struck somewhere. I feel slow
Even though it is using latest Android and it is new version of the previous tabs I did so
sometimes it feels buggy, but
Now that you can see the default behavior
It also shows you the memory
So it is using 3 GB plus 5 GB total of 8 GB of RAM 5 GB is extended one
Using the disk and 3 GB is built-in one and all it has 1.21 GB available
If I press it anywhere on the side
it can
Get into this, but it will still come back
To the same launcher, which is this one. It will never let the kid go back
And let's open this YouTube kids
the thing that
They will be doing the most and let's play a video
And there you have it
for the $70
It is not on top of the grass, but I think for the $70
It is more than enough and kids usually love these covers and this kid's face profile. I really like it as a
Parent so I think it is worth the money
Anyway, let me know what you guys think of it. Take care. Bye
