Petition tells the story of Tina, a Chinese immigrant in Canada, whose daily encounters with May, an elderly woman collecting signatures for CCP withdrawal, initially go unnoticed. Inspired by a colleague’s experiences in Hong Kong and confronted with the COVID-19 crisis affecting her family in China, Tina realizes the importance of taking a stand. With May’s guidance, she helps her parents withdraw from the CCP, understanding that even a simple petition carries a powerful message: the hope for freedom in China.
