What's going on RC homies, this is the RC news episode 84. I do this every week. This week we
got a lot of cool stuff to check out from the RC world. Let's get into it. First up, it looks like
Axial's released the CJ-7 again, this time under the SCX10 III platform. So yeah, freshened up the
chassis. Personally, I think this is one of the better looking bodies that they offered in the
past and I kind of slept on it and now I think I want it. You know, I'm more of a Toyota guy,
but what do you guys think of this? I mean, yeah, the CJ-7 body does look sweet. They also offer it
in the Laredo version in the orange. We'll get to that in a second. There it is. Yeah. What do you
guys think? I guess it really comes down to whether you like chrome rims or black rims, but yeah,
here it is. $499 USD, no battery and charger, but looking good. Well, if you need a new charger with
a lot of power, SkyRC has got you covered. This is the D8 Neo, just came out. A couple of notable
things, can do up to 8S, so that's really good. You have 32 amps times 2, so yeah, 32 amps per
port, so you can really get the batteries charged in a hurry if you need to. And yeah, a lot of
features, you know, I'm not going to go into everything. It's got a PD charger, 100 watts,
it's got an app that you can control stuff with and it's looking good. Small footprint,
don't have a street price yet, but I'm sure it's a good value as is all their stuff. So yeah,
go check that out. D8 Neo from SkyRC. Over at FMS, they released their new version of their
F100 monster truck. This is a basher, two wheel drive, kind of competing with like the Arma Quake
and you know, a Stampede, things like that. Two wheel drive monster trucks. This is the brushless
version, so it comes with a 3300 Hobbywing motor and ESC. It's a 60 amp Hobbywing ESC,
couple different liveries, got the flames with the black and we got the sort of cream
color with the, you know, the blue and the chevrons on it. I personally like this one.
What do you guys think? But value on this thing? Pretty good. 219 without a battery and charger,
240 USD with a battery and charger. So pretty nice. Got a wheelie bar on it. Curious how the
plastics hold up though. Are they as good as Arma? Are they as good as Traxxas? Yeah,
I'm very curious if they actually hold up. If anybody's put these through their paces that
we've seen, you know, the Traxxas and the Armas have gone through for many years of development.
So is FMS up to the task? Does it handle, you know, sending it off a 60 foot jump into the
abyss? So yeah, but really good value on these things and I think they look great. This thing
looks sweet. It looks like Zoo Racing is teasing us with a new body called the Jackal for touring
car racing and I think it's got some really nice styling. Look at those windows on the side.
Looks great. Yeah, they're teasing us with this. They're going to come out with it next week
apparently, but yeah, it's called the Jackal and Zoo Racing makes some really nice bodies. So
I'm sure this is just as good. Look at it. It looks great. Alright, it looks like RC4WD is
talking about their Gland 2 kit. They're saying they've updated it. It's the Land Rover Defender
D90 hard body set and yeah, the body itself is worth quite a bit. I mean this kit is $410 USD
for a very scale truck. It's got the Yoda axles on it. It's got a transfer case. It's got all the
stuff that it typically comes with, but it's got the G2 chassis. They're saying they've updated
the shocks, steel stamped wheels. You know, I'm not really seeing anything crazy that they've
updated, but yeah, they're saying they have. So anyway, yeah, G2 chassis, very scale, you know,
it's for the price. It comes with a nice body. I'm not a top performer. The Yoda axles are a
little bit of a weak link, but yeah, nice kit. Alright, we got to talk about this thing. The
RC10 factory team kit. If you're into racing, you're into vintage racing, you'll probably like
this. You already do. It's pretty cool actually. So yeah, if you're running open class vintage,
you're going to be doing most of this stuff to your buggy anyway to get it to this point. So
you're going to save a lot of money buying this thing. Yeah, and it's got the 13 mil big bore
shocks. They've put a B6 wing mount on it. They've updated the steering bell crank. It comes with
hexes, so you can run modern wheels. They've widened the hexes, so you get a bit more of a
wider stance. And yeah, it's really nice. Yeah, so, you know, anybody that's racing vintage is
doing everything here anyway. So you're going to save roughly about 200 bucks I've calculated
if you're to do everything separate. Something else to consider too, a lot of the new buggies
are for high grip surfaces. Not a lot of buggies are for low grip surfaces. So this is rear motor.
Yes, it's retro, but the most recent ONS race, this buggy did quite good. And a lot of the retro
buggies did well because of low grip. So yeah, it's something to consider. I mean, yeah, it's
not as wide, it's not as refined, but some people are saying at the ONS race that they were beating
their 7.1 lap times by a second with this thing. So kind of crazy. I don't know. It's looking
interesting for vintage racing. I feel like maybe they're going to do a rear motor modern buggy,
or maybe they just need to make a low grip buggy because it doesn't really exist.
So that's a bit of my rant, but yeah, this thing's awesome. I definitely want one. And yeah,
I'm thinking of racing a vintage buggy against modern buggies because this thing will hook up
at my local track. Might not be as wide, but it'll definitely have the traction. So good value. I
think it's a win from Associated on this one. Well, it's nice to see a LM Lexus in the Mini-Z
lineup. This is an MRO4 chassis and yeah, it's the Denso Lexus LM car. What a beauty. Look at that
thing. Yeah. Super sweet. We don't have many Lexus in the Mini-Z lineup, so this is nice to
see. And yeah, it's a really unique LM car from Lexus. It's the MRO4 chassis and you can buy this
body usually separate. I wouldn't buy a new MRO4 every time. You can definitely get the body as a
kit in a case and I kind of like to do it that way. So you can just, the scale detail on these
bodies is really what you're buying it for. So yeah, super nice. Look at that thing. Beauty.
Here's a really nice tuning option from RC Project for the S-Works 1.8 buggy. They've got some hub
weights. They go just under the link mounts. You can get them in five and 10 gram. Really good,
unique idea for tuning options. Just adding weights where the wheels are, get a little
more traction. Yeah, pretty sweet. Looks like Reefs has got a new crawling tire called the
Scrub. Comes in the XP compound, which apparently hooks up really good from what I hear. Yeah,
this is for slab crawling, like shale and slabs of rock. And it's got a tread pattern that they're
saying is scrubbed already. Sort of like pre-broken in. It's not a used tire obviously, but the knobs
are sort of rounded off and kind of give that appearance like they've been pre-broken in. So
really nice. 5.25 tall, 1.7 wide, 60 bucks Canadian, quite a bit less American. Looks like a
and yeah, they're bench tested. They basically use all the best componentry and yeah, this is
something that the team would get if they were sponsored. They've got everything from 10.5 up
to 25.5 and everything in between. So yeah, really nice looking motors. They got ceramic bearings,
titanium hardware, $180 USD. Not seeing anything about roar proof, so check into that. But yeah,
beautiful motors. Looks like Reedy's got some new 1.8 racing motors, the Sonic 900 series. They've
a 1900 and a 2100 KV. So yeah, pretty good choices. 1900 I always find is enough. It's
really fast for 1.8 racing. 2100 is a bit overkill, but yeah, $170 USD and they're looking good.
Well, Moto Obscura does it again. They come out with blue Kinwald springs. These are the
springs back in the day when you had a lousy double X or triple X car and you wanted the
color springs. So yeah, they did that. Came out with the blue ones. They got some red ones too,
but the blue is the ones you want. These are sweet. Yeah. Moto Obscura,
random stuff they come out with, but they usually do some pretty cool stuff. These are nice.
And another vintage accessory this time from LL models in the UK, they've come out with a
stealth transmission, carbon fiber motor plate. Yeah, really nice. It's for the stealth tranny.
So it's got the same bolt pattern for that. Yeah. $19 USD. It looks like and really nice looking
carbon motor plate. Cool. Looks like Jeffries has got a Y-link suspension kit for the Red
Cat Lowrider series. Pretty cool. Nice square chrome tubing. Yeah. If you want to add some
scale detailing to your Red Cat Lowrider, 91 bucks, this'll get it done. Pretty cool looking.
Looks like Kyosho came up with their own version of a racetrack barrier set. It's about $70 USD.
This kit, you can kind of build your own drift or whatever track. Yeah. Just some barriers.
Pretty cool. $70 USD. Not bad. You can see this stuff on AliExpress quite a bit, but yeah,
Kyosho has got their own now. And check this out. T-Works has got already, they've got a RC-10
model 24. So the 24 scale RC-10 release, and you can buy tie, you know, turnbuckle set. Pretty
cool. Yeah. These guys make so many turnbuckles. I mean, they probably just grab a kit,
measure everything and piece together one. So you can also buy turnbuckles separate from them
in titanium. So if you've got a special project, pretty cool though, about $24 for the whole kit.
All right, RC homies, that is it for episode 84. Really appreciate everyone stopping by a lot of
new subscribers. You guys are awesome. I'm glad you liked the news. Just, uh, you know, talking
about cool RC stuff. So yeah, my favorite thing this week, the RC-10 team kit. It's pretty rad.
If you don't race, you probably don't understand why it's rad, but it's pretty cool anyway. Yeah.
And I love that Lexus Denso car. Pretty cool. I'm going to let this video play in the end.
Just a drift video I made. Didn't get many views back in the day. Figured I'd throw it
into the end of this video and yeah, you guys can check it out. Thanks, RC homies. Have a good week.
Peace.
