What’s up DUC is a sitcom set at the Canadian Drama University of Canada (DUC), following Professor Brown, a China expert who uses recent China-related news to inspire students’ satirical dramas. Each 25-minute episode—released biweekly for a total of five—features Professor Brown presenting news, student discussions and debates, and a humorous drama based on the material. The episodes, drawn from current events, include Heaven is Watching, The Rocket Force, Sitong Bridge, White Paper Protest, and The Missing Minister.
