Hey everyone, before this video starts, just quickly I've got some exciting news.
Next year I'm hoping to do a kind of travel with me, maybe hike with me kind of trip.
But first I really want to know what things you want to do when you come to Japan and
what you would like to do if you joined me on this trip.
So I've left a link for a survey in the description down below, so please go and check that out.
That would mean so much.
Anyway, let the video begin.
This video is sponsored by Storyblocks, which is so nice because my microphone stopped working
throughout filming some of this.
So I had to replace the audio later.
So see if you can guess which clips they were, but hopefully you won't know.
Can you hear that, bears?
You're safe.
Somehow I can't imagine a bear coming out here, just walking down this path.
Hey, what's up guys?
Excuse me sir, I'm trying to enjoy my breakfast.
Say goodbye to serenity.
How's the difficulty rating on this hike so far compared to the last one?
I'm not even scared.
Look how low it is.
Look how fit I am.
Piece of piss.
I ain't here to **** spiders.
No, not quite.
That was a really terrible slapping technique.
Can you slap?
No.
Can you try?
That is terrible.
I feel like I'm gonna choke on it.
That's what she said.
Nice to meet you.
Are we done here?
I'd like to go a little further, but my family is already gone.
Oh, I see.
Where are you from?
I'm from Australia.
I've been there.
Really?
I've been to Australia and New Zealand.
When did you go there?
We both went to Australia.
I'm half American and half Japanese.
Wow, you speak so well.
Not at all.
Where do you live?
I was born in America, but I grew up in Japan.
Oh, I see.
So you live in Tokyo?
No, I live in Osaka.
Oh, I see.
Thank you for talking to me for so long.
Not at all.
I'm giving up on these shoes.
Please buy new shoes.
Thank you.
I'm so happy to hear that.
I'm happy, too.
Thank you.
Good luck.
Let's meet again.
Bye.
Good luck.
Bye.
Oh, that's so nice.
I always meet the happiest people out hiking.
Yeah.
Wow.
He's drinking your sweat.
He's eating me.
We can tiptoe and slip outside.
Before he wakes the morning sun.
Oh, it's so pretty.
The carolers on Christmas Eve.
We will call on those who held dear.
I'm excited.
I actually don't know what this is called.
But it's like mochi.
But it's like half rice, half mochi kind of texture.
So good.
And the sauce on the outside is like sweet soy.
Really yummy.
Yeah?
I give it back.
The honest truth.
Holy crap, this place is pretty.
I did not expect it to look this good, actually.
I don't have to try hard at all to make it look nice.
And they block off the street so that cars can't really just drive down the center.
This is so nice.
This whole town is like a photographer's paradise.
There's so many beautiful, idyllic, fairytale, wonderland kind of settings.
These flowers are just everywhere.
Everything is so bright and colorful and picturesque.
So good.
What the heck?
That's so weird.
It's so weird to see fish in here.
Is that why it's weird?
Huh?
There's a snake in there.
Well, you know, if there's a fish, I'd expect there to be a snake.
It's like, you're from Australia.
Yeah.
Oh, snake.
Yeah.
See drowned snakes all the time.
Yeah.
I see drowned snakes in my bathtub.
Child's play.
My friends, it's still a wonderful life.
And that concludes our lovely little weekend trip away with Chris.
It was a lot less effort than the last video that we made, but still really, really beautiful.
I'm glad we got to check out this area finally.
I'll tell you more information about how we got there and any other tips and tricks and things you may need to know before you go.
But first, as always, I would like to talk about this video sponsor, which is Storyblocks.
So I mentioned at the start of the video that the microphone on my camera stopped working, so I had to replace all of the audio in post.
I wanted those clips in and, yeah, set myself a challenge.
And I recreated all of the audio using stuff of just me filming stuff around my house, but also mainly using Storyblocks' massive library of sound effects.
They have so much more than sound effects, though.
They've got stock photos, stock videos, music.
They have titles.
They have After Effects templates.
They have, what's that called?
Illustrations.
That's what I was after.
They have so much for you to use, and it's all under one really affordable subscription.
All of this stuff is royalty free, and it can really, really save your butt if you're like me.
Something goes wrong while you're filming and you need to fix it in post.
They're an absolute lifesaver for filmmakers.
They've also got a new initiative at the moment called Restock, which is aiming to diversify the media that they've got on their site.
So they're trying to feature some more LGBTQIA plus creators as well as featuring people of color and some more indigenous communities.
It's a really, really wonderful site, wonderful company, and they've helped me out so much in my filming, and I think you can get so much value from it.
So if you'd like to get started, go to Storyblocks.com slash CurrentlyHannah.
And of course, when you help my sponsors, that helps support me.
So thank you so much for that, and thank you to Storyblocks for sponsoring this video and also for just helping me recreate the audio.
So yes, for those playing along at home, all of these clips that I'm showing right now, none of these had audio, so I had to recreate all of that myself.
Bit of a challenge, but also just a little bit annoying.
And also my drone SD card, the footage got corrupt, so I wasn't able to use the high-quality version, which is why the drone footage maybe didn't look as crisp as usual,
because it's the 720p version that was saved on my phone from the drone app.
So, you know, not everything goes as planned.
Oh, and again, I filmed this outro yesterday, but I was using my other camera, and the microphone jack on that one is broken too, so this video is doomed.
I don't know what's going on, but nothing really wants to really work and help me out.
It's good. It's great. I'm okay.
So yeah, Norikura. Norikura... Dake? Yama? Norikura Yama.
Basically mountains in Japan. It's either Dake, Yama, or San after the name of it, and it's anyone's guess which one it's gonna be.
Whatever, Mount Norikura. It's a really beautiful area.
It's actually... the peak is at over 3,000 meters high, but it only takes like an hour and a half to hike to the top from the bus stop,
which is so nice, especially after our crazy long hike that we did last time.
It's weird, because at this height that we were in this video, it was higher than we were at Mount Shiroma, which we hiked eight and a half hours to get to.
So this is a really nice hike for anyone if they're wanting to try out a smaller hike, or you wanna get up and be above the clouds in Japan,
but you don't want to hike for a crazy long distance to get there, this is a wonderful, wonderful hike to do. Much, much, much easier.
I'll leave any of the bus timetable websites or whatever, I'll leave all that in the description.
Where else did we go? Excuse me.
Oh! We went to Shirakawa-go! Finally! I'm really, really glad that we got to check this place out.
We actually went here on New Year's Eve last year, and there was so much snow. It was freezing cold.
It was dark, none of the buildings' lights were on or anything. It didn't look like all the pretty pictures that I saw.
We were just trying to find an onsen and get some food for dinner.
Nothing was open, and we were getting really quite bummed out. We were all really tired.
So yeah, we went in there with really low expectations, basically.
But they were absolutely blown away. I couldn't believe how beautiful it was there.
It felt like a little fairy tale village or something like that. It felt like Pine Hollow.
I've got no idea why I said Pine Hollow. I don't even know what that is.
I meant to say Fern Gully. Jesus!
What is Pine Hollow? Why does that sound familiar to me?
Anyway, it was so, so, so nice.
It's exactly like what you see on Instagram. Really, really beautiful.
I highly recommend anyone go there if you're passing through the area.
I think there are buses and stuff that can take you there because it's a pretty famous area.
I'll have a double check, and I'll put whatever relevant information I find in the description down below.
Anyway, like I also said at the start of the video, I'm hoping to do a travel with me, hike with me kind of trip sometime next year.
If you're interested in doing something like that, then go to the link in the description, and there'll be a survey.
I really want to know what kinds of things you want to do first.
I really need to gather the information first to put together the perfect itinerary for all of us.
I'm really excited for it. I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
Also, I've noticed that there's a lot of people that watch my videos that aren't subscribed yet.
If you've made it this far in my videos, then maybe subscribe and also like and comment or whatever.
The best thing that you can do is to share this video with your friends if you enjoyed it.
Thank you again so much for watching. Thank you Storyblocks for sponsoring this video.
Thank you for Chris, as always, for everything that you do for me.
That's all. Thank you for watching. Here are some bloopers.
How'd they get all these clouds up here?
Ah, it's so good.
Such a good dad joke, and I'm not even a dad yet.
What are you doing here, little spider?
Spider. No way home.
Getting close, baby.
This ain't a trail, this is a road.
So I'm just editing this video now, and it's too good to replace.
I don't want to replace it, but I just realized what Pine Hollow is from.
It's from Saddle Club.
I'm really showing my age here, and also my love for horses.
