It's really nice. It was really exciting to work again. I have a great trust and comfort, which is nice to have going into something. It was like you two were friends. I don't think you can force that. You can. We have. The truth comes out. Yeah, remember, we're actors. We're liars. If we didn't like each other, I think you'd feel it. Even if we were trying to do the studio thing, you'd go, oh, it's great to work with. It's just so interesting and creative. Yeah, people who have that little too long when they're looking for the words, that's when you know that there's some lying going on. But I like them. So you're together for a pretty long day today. Do you know how to get in each other's nerves? No. Not at all. See that pause that was there between the no and then the yeah? That's where you need to read. You need to. No. No, not at all. Is there a day on the set that was most memorable for you? I mean, I've said it before, but I really enjoyed the first and second days that we worked together, which was this. There's a scene where my character gets a chance to meet Sandra's character. Did you hear the pause between my character? I didn't know whether to call you Sandra or Kate, or I didn't know which way to go. No way. And that and then going into the dance sequence. I liked how life, you know, we had a couple of days of rehearsal, but then to go in and to film, it was like that was for me. You know, and then the first kind of kiss. That was that was the most memorable filming day for me. That was the most memorable filming day for me. Well, Sandra. You've done something really unusual, Sandra, in that you got married. No, there wasn't a hoopla. There wasn't a big da-da. And you went, how did you manage that? It's called paying for excellent security to arrest people as they were trespassing during the ceremony. The only people who were allowed to be there were the people that I knew if I needed help would be there. That's the only people who were allowed to be there were the people that I knew if I needed help would be there. That's when you did you go to the meeting? He's there. You'd help me. Yeah. And you were one of the last ones to leave. You hung out with me till the very end. Not to the very end. We left it exactly the same. I know, but you had a whole other little party over the thing. So it doesn't, you know, it just doesn't work. Yeah. But with love. It always works. I was nervous the first scene with the dog. Were you? Yeah, well, I hurt so much. Well, she comes with such pedigree. I thought, we met at the audition for Speed. And I thought, here's a girl with gumption. Here is a girl, a feisty girl with a pretty young thing. Yeah. Absolutely. You better say, yeah. Of course. Look at me. Yeah. I didn't mean like, yes. Like I need help? No. Like I need to be prompted to say that you're pretty? No, my yes. God, he might forget. No, my yes was more like, yeah, did you think it was pretty? Yeah, he thought it was pretty. Did you get it? Yes, yes, yes. Oh my God. I sent him a lot of pictures of me in a bikini. Every day I would put another picture of me in a bikini and a really sexy pose in his trailer. Very distracting. If you're patient, you can have this at the end of the film. But just be patient. And then you went, ah. Keanu in a Speedo. Would you stop? You looked great. Stop already. That was just for you. You should be proud of your physical beauty. That was for you. There were some good ones in there. There were some good ones. Because usually you kiss for the camera. So you don't, it's not like you kiss, like you kiss at home. Because that looks weird. Because it looks weird. So you don't get to enjoy them like you would a pure kiss at home. But we slipped a couple good ones in there. Give me just a moment. You have to forget that part. Because it's beautiful and loving and romantic and magical. And you get to see Keanu in a Speedo. Running through the fields. A puppy. The second kiss. No, it's just. It's a big moment, you know. And it's, there's a couple of things. Because there's movie kisses. And then there's real life kiss. And then there's kind of coming together with a movie real life kiss. And in this moment, I have to admit. I mean, if you see the film and you like the kiss. I was directed. I was kind of. I was, I was, I was not taught. But I was. Sandy. Sandy told me what to do. I mean, I had the feeling. Oh, Sandy directed you? Sandy directed. Okay, okay. I kind of wanted to go. And I was seeing a big moment. And Sandra was just like, grab me. Okay. Take me. Okay, you're making me sound like a complete control freak. No, no, no, this is. You were like, just take. I just. And I was like, I wanted to be all like, you know. And I was like, all right. I know Keanu. I don't know. But I feel Keanu has had a kiss like this. And I said, as a woman, what would I want? I said, just don't let me speak anymore. Don't let there be any talking. I want, if it's been that long, just shut me up and take my face. And he did it very well, I might add. It wasn't enough. I mean, I'd like to have been in more scenes with him and worked with him more. But maybe that just gives us a chance to do it again in something else. You know, but for this story, it was absolutely perfect. And I don't think I could have done this kind of story with anyone else. I mean, I know I couldn't have. This story means what it means to me because of him. Is there also a sense of honesty by saying, you know, today, I don't think I was that good today. Oh, like that. Oh, yeah. Well, I hope you never say that to me. I hope you're that honest. I hope you always say I'm good. Yeah. We can't help it. We just go. We don't know why that happens. It just. Have you missed each other that much that you love working together? Yeah, I mean, we've kept in touch. And who's kept in touch with you? Make it sound like you were so good. I've been calling every Sunday or Sunday phone call. How I communicated with him when he would leave the country town was all through letters. And it forced me. Keanu deserves to be, you know, I kind of wanted to be the man and I didn't do a very good job. So I think now I need to do what I do best, which is wait for him to come help me. I'm just going to do a lot of sitting and waiting for him to come help me because he's good at it. He's so like, you know, suave and swashbuckling. People look really familiar. You go, oh, that's Donald Schwarzenegger. So there's a lot of big people here. It's a disco. I'm pregnant and Keanu, I'm not the father. That's the problem. It was like, you know, it's like you come home. I feel like I started off things with him and I, and to go to this next level and do this kind of film together, you'd rather, it's so intimate that you'd want to have someone that you trust when you're looking at them rather than feel like you're floundering. It was pretty great. I mean, most everyone in my position would probably say the same thing. Exactly. Well, that was, you didn't kiss me like that in Speed. You were in the room when I said it. As you always do. So was it any different this time around? It was totally different. I mean, just because of the intent of the film, Speed was, you know, you had this bus and this bomb, and that was sort of the, like I said earlier, I, you know, I don't think I could have done it with anybody else. Like six scenes together. And is that what it was, six? I don't know. But how good are those six scenes? Great. Yeah. They're sexy. I couldn't resist. I'm sorry. It was funny. I'm sorry. We wanted Speed to keep making money. So we didn't want to disrupt it. I don't know. Yeah. People say you should work together. And we agreed, but we didn't. Nothing ever came along that really... I mean, chemistry was so much a part of the success of Speed, that what was it like to get back on, you know, on the set and start shooting together? What? It was nice. Answer the man's question. I am. It was lovely. I was a little nervous. Why? Well, I don't know. It's been 12 years. And so you come with so much more baggage or so much more education. And you think you're a lot cooler and better than you are. And you go back. I am? Thank you. I am a lot cooler than I was back then. You are, you are. Was I that bad? It was, yeah. No, no. No, you bloomed. Ballooned or bloomed? Bloomed. I'm just going to leave. Okay? So what was the biggest difference in him in the last 12 years? How has he changed? He's kind to me. I mean, she's, you know, again, I mean, the thing that's cool about this film, I mean, it's cast really very well. And the actors are really good.
