Kevin Durant Ties Carmelo Anthony, Drops 32 in the Clutch vs Pelicans 🔥 | March 13, 2026

He is a paint dominator. These two teams, they're amongst the leaders in paint points, but the Rockets are playing without Alfred Chigun. I talked about how Kevin Durant was due. That's a nice start. Obviously, we've discussed this before as we've seen him, but he has slid down. Kevin Durant gets to the rim, and the Rockets continue to take advantage of this. Reed, the swing to Okoge, and just does keep himself in bounds. As he finds Durant, he'll drive on Jones. There's the help. Spin, the shot, the make. Again, guys were intrigued with him. Definitely one of the sleepers in the draft. Jumper goes down for Durant, but Trey Murphy, career highs in scoring, rebounding in the first half. Again, he plays well against the Rockets. That's where you've got to stay down and disciplined. Durant. His three. It drops. His second. He's got 12. Carl Sofino's out of the league. Absolutely. They don't pick him up. He'll pull up. He'll miss badly. Thompson, the offensive rebound. Back to KD. Back to Thompson. That is pretty basketball. One more look at this connection on the give and go, and as we head to break, we'll check in now with Kevin Eschenfelder, who's hanging out. Slips a pass into Jabari Smith Jr. this time. It'll count. Excellent. Durant, the back down, the spin away from the double team, and he just has to break it. Look at Kevin Durant. Time, place, situation. Saw the shot clock winding down. Knew what he had to do. Rockets' biggest lead's been 10. They're currently up by 9. Let's go for a ride here. There's a double. Into Capella. Maybe a hook shot. Hey! 11-point lead for the Rockets. Late second quarter. It's only three. It's a 9-to-4 run. Kevin Durant into the paint. To Fierce's block. And then Okoge gets it ahead to Durant. He'll drive on Fierce. He's got four rebounds, five assists. He's got this block. And I realize it's no Fierce. Good short close out there to Fierce. He could be a shooter. Durant wants it. Durant takes it. Durant gets it. He's been able to get up and down here tonight. Rockets get the offensive rebound. And Durant scores with a free throw. Murphy, no. Durant, basically. It's been under 30 recently. He got triple teamed. That one was as easy as it gets. Timeout, New Orleans. The shot, rebound, Houston. Bodies go down. Three Pelicans are retreating. It's slow to get back, and the Rockets get it easy. Comes into Jabari. Now to Durant. Defended by Jones. He'll go with Jones. He'll shoot over the top. That's scored 30 plus in the last five games. He's got 30 here. And this one gave the Rockets the lead.
