As America looks ahead to its 250th birthday, officials in Washington unveiled a special race course for the first-ever IndyCar Freedom 250 Grand Prix racing event.

The event will take place on Aug. 23, and will feature 1.7 miles of track and seven turns around iconic landmarks in the District of Columbia. It will be free to the public.
