Great look at the winter home of the Pittsburgh Pirates, LECOM in Bradenton as the Buccos host the Boston Red Sox.
Beautiful day for baseball. Beautiful day to get some autographs.
One of the heroes now, the Pittsburgh Pirates fan base pre-agent signee Ryan O'Hearn.
He'll be in the starting lineup today as the Buccos take on the Bo Sox.
Greg Brown, John Wainer, and Hannah Mears will be along.
It'll be a fun day. We'll have some guys miked up, have a chance to talk to some of the guys.
Here's a chance, John, to talk to you on the TV side about Ryan O'Hearn and how nice it is to see a guy with presence in that lineup.
It's presence, and it's a middle-of-the-lineup bat, and a guy that just kind of makes hitting look easy.
I mean, he's very comfortable in the box, a guy that kind of just takes what is given.
He'll hit the ball all over the park, and he has power.
We saw some oppo pop this spring from Ryan O'Hearn.
Hits the extra bases, will hit for average, will also hit the ball in the ballpark.
Two long balls the other way, so I'm impressed by how comfortable he looks in the box.
Some people say, oh, he's just a pro.
I mean, he looks like a professional hitter, has a plan, and executes it.
Sounds like you could be talking about Jared Triolo, especially the second half of last year.
We know that Triolo will be either at third or short.
I mean, that's almost a given depending on how things work out.
And he can play both positions very well.
Yeah, I guess it all depends on what we're doing at shortstop.
If Connor Griffin sticks around, we'll see Triolo a lot at third base.
One thing we do know is wherever he plays, he's going to play it very, very well.
Brayden Moore, the speedster, pops the first pitch up.
Want to keep him off the bases, and Carmen Majinski will retire him.
One pitch, one out.
That series to the Bronx Bombers.
And a ground single to right.
Open on that right side.
Nice piece of hitting.
And a chance.
Triolo was watching.
Wide turn there by Wong, but he gets back first and third with two outs.
Nice little play.
Monasterio, that ball comes up on him, and he handles it smoothly.
Get yours.
You're not going to want to miss the 2026 Pittsburgh Pirates.
And there you see the veteran Marcel Ozuna singles to center field.
He'll be the D.H. for the Pirates this year.
O'Neal Cruz has struggled against lefties.
You guys talk to him maybe about approach and seeing the ball longer,
staying back, anything like that with a guy like Cruz.
Kind of helps you get a better jump to the ball.
Go to base.
Monasterio singles homeward.
I mean, I would think that I would want to challenge a good bit.
That's hammered to deep center field.
Ward is back, and that's going to hit off the wall.
Lau will get into third on the double by Brian Reynolds.
It's a whole other top speed.
The fly ball to center field, and that will score the run.
Professional at bat, Brian O'Hearn.
The sacrifice fly brings home Lau.
What a thrill that must be.
Romero ends up at second.
3-2.
Just over the head of Nick York.
Pitching well into his 40s, if I'm not mistaken.
Chopped on the right side and on to first.
Romero hanging on.
Big stretch.
First base, Monasterio.
Run of the spring.
Swing.
His Laco fans are fired up.
First time in a long time.
And he will lead off.
Last year, I didn't really throw the splitter or the curveball.
Since a year under my belt, it's good to have a routine if you want to stay healthy.
And you have to be able to make adjustments as well.
If you come into the year thinking you can do the same things over and over,
your body is knocking on his brain.
It's been awesome to be around, for sure, Uncle Ski.
Well, future Uncle Ski, we have one more question for you here, Carmen.
Your personal goal heading into this season.
There was a lot thrown at you last year, like we said.
Maybe want to save it for a more important time.
Good job timing the leap there by Romero.
The New York Mets.
To Marcel Osuna.
Ripping that beat-off double off the new pitcher, Devin Sweet.
And that was a sweet swing from Osuna.
First at bat for Endy Rodriguez.
And a good at bat, it turns out to be, in the left-center field, Marcel Osuna.
Will score on the base hit by Endy Rodriguez.
Get to pop up.
Shallow center.
Drops in.
Endy Rodriguez headed to third.
And he is safe as the high throw comes in.
Tag.
Max Ferguson at third.
And that ball driven to left.
And how about home run?
It's his first home run of the spring.
A3 Pirates.
My goodness, they're just not wasting any time trying to come in with a fastball.
And not an overpowered fastball thrown.
90-90.
Was sitting on it.
And got all of it.
Skips off the glove.
Shortstop, Abram Liendo.
And taking off, got an unbelievable jump, Billy Cook.
Four steps, but he overslides the bag.
And it will be a caught stealing.
He didn't necessarily agree.
Best of luck the rest of the spring.
We appreciate you stopping by.
Good work today.
Hannah, thank you.
As with the bases loaded, Marcel Osuna drives one to left-center field.
And that close to hitting a grand slam.
The Pirates send ten to the plate.
Light adjustment with my hands.
And, you know, I think I kind of just took that and ran with it.
So, you know, I'm starting to feel the same stuff as I was feeling then.
So, hopefully it carries over to this year.
I appreciate your time.
Best of luck the rest of the spring.
Don't leave me hanging.
Come on there.
Good luck the rest of the spring.
Thank you so much.
Rowdy.
Hannah, thank you.
And a fair ball that just drops along the line there.
Esmeralde Valdez, the right fielder for the Pirates.
That's a ball hit by Max Ferguson.
Moves Mickey Gasper to third.
Talked about it earlier this spring.
These umpires, they're used to calling the zone the way they always have.
Line to left field.
Punch in that small frame.
Jose Altuve-like.
Liendo doubles home a pair.
Go to some more hockey tournaments and baseball games.
So, I'll be at home more than I would have been in a different role.
So, I'm excited about that too.
Over the course of 162, I think that selling out to framing and, you know, the industry
obviously believes this as well.
But I think selling out to framing over 162 is the way to go.
I think framing, you know, if you have a good framer back there, it's just too valuable.
I mean, it's really hard.
Drive to deep center.
Home run for Mickey Gasper.
Two run homer.
All the starters are out of there.
Now an 8-7 ball game.
The wind here at, you're very familiar with it, of course, Jacob.
The conditions in this ballpark.
It's either a great day to hit or it's a terrible day to hit.
There's not much in between.
The wind's either blowing out or in.
So, unfortunately for us in that situation, the wind is blowing out.
Nice diving stop at short by Liendo, but an infield hit.
Oh, that's shot to right field.
They'll play it station to station.
Offensive field single.
Rafael Flores.
