Hello Japan, I'm Scarlett Johansson. I'm on the red carpet for Ironman 2, which I hope you enjoy.
Scarlett, this was your first big action flick. What was it like to do all this stunt work and prepare physically?
It was slightly painful, but in the end it really paid off, I have to say.
It was a lot of stunt training, strength training and weight resistance training and all of that stuff.
And it really paid off in the end. I was able to do the stunt work and I'm very excited to see how it pans out tonight.
And your costume, I mean, how uncomfortable or comfortable was it?
You know, it wasn't bad. Mary Zofres, our costume designer, is an absolute genius and she knows how to dress a woman.
I was her first superhero costume, which I was very, very proud of.
And she totally understood that it needed to be functional and sort of totalitarian.
So it wasn't bad, actually. It was kind of like a big, tight onesie.
Ironman has become such a phenomenon. Why do you think it resonates with audiences so much?
I think because of something really mischievous about this character.
And the character is sort of the anti-hero superhero.
And I attribute that to the way that Robert plays this character.
It's a complex character, multi-layered, and he's a badass in every sense of the word.
I think it's something that people kind of, they recognize something in Tony Stark that they see in themselves.
And Robert just does that seamlessly. He sort of acts as a reflecting force in the audience.
And I think that's why it's so much fun to watch.
Did you have other superheroes? Somebody you always enjoyed?
Did I?
Superheroes. Do you have any from our gap?
Superheroes? I don't know. I just really used to love the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
I don't know if that counts.
Thank you.
