Hello friends
Hello
I am so happy you're here
Oh, today is a special day
Today, we're going on a field trip
Field trip is when we leave the classroom
And go somewhere special
We're going to travel somewhere really special
Today, we're going to visit an art studio
So we can find out what we can do at an art studio
I have a friend named Mary Cherry
And she has an art studio in California
Today, we're going on a field trip to her art studio
But first, we have to finish reviewing our circle time board
And we even have to find out how everyone is feeling today
Remember, we all have feelings
I'm feeling really excited today about our field trip
How about we think about our feelings today?
Are you ready?
Oh, wonderful!
Okay everyone, get ready
Get ready
I have many feelings
Feelings are what I have
I have many feelings
Feelings are what I have
I have many feelings
Feelings are what I have
Sometimes I'm happy
Sometimes I'm sad
Sometimes I'm silly
Sometimes I'm mad
Sometimes I'm sleepy
Sometimes surprised
When I'm scared of something
I close my eyes
All these emotions
They can make me cry
Aww
I have many feelings
Feelings are what I have
I have many feelings
Feelings are what I have
When I'm happy I like to smile
When I'm sad
I make a frown
Sometimes I'm up
Sometimes I'm down
When I'm silly
I laugh out loud
Now I know
That feelings are what I have
I have many feelings
Feelings are what I have
I have many feelings
Please don't make me sad
I have many feelings
Can you make me laugh
I have many feelings
Feelings are what I have
We all have feelings
How do you feel today?
Well thank you for sharing how you feel today
I'm still feeling excited about our field trip
Now let's review our circle time board
Here we go
Okay
I need to first find my
My
Pointer
My circle time pointer
I'm ready to review the board now
Are you ready?
Wonderful
If you have a pointer
You can take your pointer
You can take your pointer out too
Or you can even use your pointer finger
Let's start at the top of the board
Do do do do do
Days of the week
Will you sing the days of the week with me?
Remember when we sing
Days of the week
You can snap your fingers
You can clap your hands
Or you can just sing
Whatever you choose
Get ready
Here we go
There's
Sunday and
There's Monday
There's Tuesday and
There's Wednesday
There's Thursday and there's Friday
And then there's Saturday
Days of the week
One more time
There's
Sunday and
It's Monday, it's Tuesday, and it's Wednesday, it's Thursday, and it's Friday, and then it's Saturday.
Days of the week! Days of the week! Days of the week! Days of the week!
We did it! Oh, and what day is it for you?
Today is...
Oh, well thank you for sharing what day it is for you.
Let's keep going down our circle time board.
The weather is...
Let's find out what the weather is! Here we go!
What's the weather where you are?
You may have to take a peek out your window and then come back what you see.
I'll give you some time!
Are you back?
Great! What's the weather where you are?
Really?
Well, thank you for sharing what the weather is where you are.
I would like a turn.
Let's find out what the weather is here, where the circle time classroom is.
Oh, Piggy Pig!
Hi, Miss Monica!
Hi, Piggy Pig! Will you help us with the weather today?
Yes, I will!
Oh, wonderful!
Today the weather is sunny and a little chilly.
Oh, and what are you wearing on this sunny day?
I'm wearing my sunglasses and my vest.
Wow!
Friends, what color are Piggy Pig's sunglasses?
Pink!
Pink! Yes, they are! Oh, wow!
And what color is Piggy Pig's vest?
Pink!
It's pink!
Oh, well thank you for sharing what the weather is today, Piggy Pig.
We'll see you soon!
Everyone say bye to Piggy Pig!
Bye, Piggy Pig!
Bye, friends! Bye, Miss Monica!
Oh, it's a sunny day and now we know we can find a sunny day picture and put it on our board.
It's a great day for a field trip. Come on!
Okay, I think I have a sunny day picture.
Oh, is this a sunny day picture?
No, this is a rainy day picture.
Let's try again.
Oh, how about this one?
Is this a sunny day picture?
No, this is a cloudy day picture.
Let me try one more time.
Is this a sunny day picture?
Yes, it is!
Let's put it on the board.
Here we go.
And tap, tap.
Now I can read it.
The weather is sunny.
Will you read that with me?
Great! Here we go.
The weather is sunny.
It's a sunny day.
Okay, let's keep going across our circle time board.
Letter of the day.
What's our letter of the day?
Let's take a look.
S!
S is our letter of the day.
Can you say S?
Again, say S.
This is uppercase S and this is lowercase s.
Every letter makes the sound in S.
Can you make that sound with me?
Let's do it together.
Again.
One more time.
That's right.
S is our letter of the day.
Oh, maybe Koala knows some words that start with letter S.
Oh, Koala.
Yes?
Hi, Koala.
Hi, Miss Monica.
Do you know words that start with letter S?
Yes, I do.
Oh, great. Will you share them with us?
I certainly will.
Okay, friends, so...
You know every letter makes a sound and S says...
A few words that begin with the letter S is...
Snake.
I don't like snakes.
Another word that begins with the letter S, friends, is...
Snacks.
Koala likes snacks.
And my last and final word that begins with the letter S is...
Snail.
Snails move slow.
Thanks for learning with me, friends.
Bye.
Thanks to Koala, now we know words that start with letter S.
S is our letter of the day.
Let's put it on the board.
And...
Tap, tap, tap.
Letter S.
What's our letter of the day?
S.
That's correct.
Okay, let's go to the other side of the board.
Do, do, do, do, do, do.
Ooh.
Shape of the day.
What's our shape of the day?
Let's take a look.
The semicircle.
Friends, can you say semicircle?
Again.
Semicircle.
Let's try and clap that word.
Semicircle.
One more time.
Semicircle.
That's right.
A semicircle is half of a circle.
Where's the other half?
It's not there.
It's a semicircle.
I know some things that actually look like a semicircle.
If I turn it this way,
sometimes pieces of watermelon can look like a semicircle.
And look at that.
Even a rainbow can look like a semicircle.
Wow.
Should we sing about it?
Let's do it.
Rainbow.
Semicircle.
Rainbow.
Semicircle.
Rainbow.
That's right.
Friends, what's our shape of the day?
The semicircle.
Oh, and what if I turn it this way?
Do, do, do, do, do, do.
What's the shape?
It's still a semicircle.
That's right.
Let's put the semicircle on the board.
Here we go.
Do, do, do, do, do, do, do.
And ta, ta, ta.
Okay, let's keep going.
Down our circle time board.
Do, do, do, do, do, do.
Number of the day.
What's our number of the day?
Drum roll, please.
Number?
Nine.
Nine is our number of the day.
Can you say nine?
Nine.
Again, say nine.
Nine.
Let's count from one all the way to number nine.
Will you count with me?
Great.
You can use your pointer finger or your pointer.
Let's get ready.
Get ready.
Here we go.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Seven.
Nine.
You did it.
Let's do it one more time.
Here we go.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Six.
Seven.
Eight.
Nine.
You did it.
Oh, look at that.
I see snails on the board.
Let's count them.
Here we go.
One.
Two.
Three.
Four.
Seven.
Eight.
Nine.
How many snails did you count?
Nine.
There are nine snails.
Great counting today.
Thank you for your help.
Okay, let's go back over to our circle time board and find number nine.
Oh, I think I have a number nine right here.
Number nine.
What's our number of the day?
Nine.
Let's put it on the board.
And tap, tap, tap.
Number nine.
We did it.
Look.
We completed the entire circle time board.
Oh, friends, I think it's time for our field trip.
Because we're going on a field trip, we're going to skip our wiggle break today
and go straight to our field trip.
Are you ready?
You can say, yes, I am.
Let's try again.
Are you ready?
Yes, I am.
Me too.
Okay.
On the count of three, we're going to go on our field trip.
Here we go.
One.
Two.
Three.
Cherry Art Studio.
We're in California.
Let's go inside and meet my friend Mary.
Come on.
Hi, Mary Cherry.
Miss Monica, it's so good to have you here.
I'm so excited.
Come on in.
Yes.
Here we go.
What do you do in this art studio?
Well, Mary Cherry Art Studio is a process art studio.
So that means we're all about the making and the doing rather than the finished product.
So can children make anything here?
I mean, sky's the limit.
Within reason.
That's exciting.
Okay.
Are we creating today?
You know it.
We have such a great day planned.
We're going to do one of my favorites, artist trading cards.
Let's get to it.
Yes, let's do it.
So what are we creating?
Okay, so artist trading cards are so much fun.
Any age can participate in artist trading cards from little littles all the way to adults.
And what they are are mini works of art.
Okay.
So Miss Monica, there's just one rule when it comes to artist trading cards and that's
the card needs to be two and a half by three and a half inches.
Okay.
Let's hear that.
Parents, teachers, two and a half by three and a half inches.
That's officially the artist trading card size.
Yes.
Got it.
And you want to have sturdy paper.
We're using watercolor paper today.
It won't be so effective if you use printer paper or something like that.
Okay.
So you got your artist trading card and you get to use any supplies that you have at school
or around the house or anywhere that you are to make a little mini work of art.
So, you know, I see you going to the stickers.
We have pink sticks.
We have washi tape or decorative tape it's sometimes called.
Little felt pieces and foam pieces that are actually adhesive.
Love this.
I love those.
Glue sticks and little collage paper, tissue paper, things like that.
And we have some paints here.
So it's really up to you.
I love this.
And I always tell adults save the scrap paper.
You can use scrap paper, anything you have.
Yes.
Okay.
There's no wrong way to do it.
Go for it.
And the thing about artist trading cards is you get to trade them after.
So let's start making and see what happens.
Let's do it.
And you can create with us.
Yes.
All right.
I'm going to have so much fun with all of these little accessories here.
I mean, give me all the pink all the time and I'm in.
So if you have a favorite color, you can use your favorite.
You can mix it up.
You can do a rainbow.
Like I said, there's no wrong way to do it.
Ooh.
I am loving this.
I think I want some washi tape now.
You know what?
I want to show you and my friends at home something really interesting.
Okay.
We use watercolors a lot and you can see I have these like two little baths set up here.
Okay.
And I call one my dirty bath and one clean bath.
Right now they're both clean and I'll show you.
I'm going to make this one dirty.
I'm going to give it a bath so you can see that pink color in here because I want to
clean my brush before I go to the next color.
Right.
So we do something called the artist trick around here where we wipe the brush on the
side, wipe, wipe, wipe.
And now I can go into that clean bath with some fresh water.
And then around here with my watercolors, I can choose a color.
Let's try blue.
And I say round and round and round we go to wake up those colors.
Round and round and round we go.
And now I've got a lot of paint on here.
If it was drippy, I can do the artist trick on the jar.
I'll just wipe it off in the dirty bath.
In the dirty bath.
Now this isn't something you might master right away, but practice and it will become
part of your professional artist trick.
Fun.
I'm going to try round and round and round we go.
Wake up those colors.
Look.
Let's see what it looks like.
Ooh.
Yeah.
That looks really vibrant, doesn't it?
That's fun.
When it comes to trading, you can put all your trading cards on a bulletin board.
Like you might see one behind me here.
See that?
You can put your trading cards up on a poster or a board and then friends can come along
and say, ooh, I love that one.
I'm going to make one and trade.
Oh, and they can take it off and then put another one on?
Yes.
And that's fun.
I like this.
So you can do that at home or in a classroom.
Isn't that cool?
And that sounds good for even a party.
Oh, it's so much fun for a party.
Yes.
And it's this kind of big work of art that everyone can admire and look at and notice
different things about us.
I love that idea.
I think this one is ready for trading.
Should we trade?
What should I do?
Let's do it.
This is for you.
Thank you.
Look at that.
Yes.
And that's trading cards.
Thank you so much for teaching us all about trading cards.
You're welcome.
Such a pleasure.
Okay.
I hope you all had fun too.
And can we come back again and visit?
You know it.
You better come back.
I love you.
Thank you.
Miss Monica.
Bye.
I'm going to put mine here.
Right.
Let's see.
Find a spot.
Okay.
Right here.
Nice choice.
Okay.
Love.
That's cute.
To see that filled.
Yeah.
Fun.
Wow.
That field trip was so much fun.
I'm so happy that we learned how to make our very own trading cards.
Now, if you make your very own trading cards, you can show me.
You can take a picture.
You can even do video.
Make sure you tag me if you're on Instagram.
Okay, friends.
It's time for us to say goodbye.
But I'll see you again soon.
Goodbye, everyone.
I'll see you again soon.
Bye, friends.
Circle time makes learning fun.
Come sing and dance.
Come, everyone.
Good morning.
Train is coming.
How are you?
Go round and round.
All the time.
Days of the week.
