skiing & snow camping in a four wheel camper

Well good morning folks. It is a beautiful start to the day. It's currently snowing
and we're waking up here at the White River Snow Park which we camped out here overnight
because today is going to be a fun little trip up to Timberline to do some skiing. Now this winter
has been a little rough as far as the snowpack and total snowfall but here recently we've been
able to actually get some good snow so hoping we can make a fun little trip out of it. I wasn't
planning to record a video to be honest. I was just going to enjoy the time out here and just
embrace it for what it is but this weather is amazing and I get so excited when it's snowing
and plus doing some snow camping here with the four-wheel camper. So we're packing up for this
morning. We're going to go run up there, get situated, get ready to hit the mountain and
more than likely come back here and keep it easy. That way we're within close proximity to the
to the resort up there. So let's get moving. Yeah good stuff. We have a great day. You too
sir. Have a good one. I am. We might run into you again. I might do a couple laps on here.
Legs are burning. Oh what a beautiful day. It started sunny. Starting to get a little bit more
overcast but any day on the hill is a good one. This is what it's all about and this is why we
love the setup that we do. Shelby is back at the parking lot with the camper. Cozying up
with baby Lumi and snuggling in and taking a nap. But what's great is that it's a perfect base camp.
She's able to stay nice and warm, have all the food and everything right there and hang out in
the camper while I'm up here on the mountain ripping around and having a ball. But this is
exactly it. That whole setup really surrounds the lifestyle that we do. Whether we're up here for
skiing, summertime for mountain biking, hiking, all the inns that we do in our lifestyle. So
super stoked and it's really nice that you know the mountain has gotten some recent snowfall as
well too. So the riding has been pretty good. But we're just going to continue to see where
the morning and afternoon takes us.
What are we making for lunch? Nothing other than the chick-fil-a nuggies we got last night.
Cut them up, make ourselves a little buffalo ranch chicken wrap, a little avocado and lettuce
and cheese. Maybe some chip crunchies. Better than just a cold wrap that we're used to.
Coming. Cheese. You playing with your toy?
Well all right folks we're back here at the White River Snow Park and we're going to call this home
for tonight. It is certainly a chilly one. It's currently 24 and tonight the lows are expected
around 19. But we'll stay nice and warm inside the camper and probably just hang out in there.
While this spot is super close to the Timberline Ski Resort, it is definitely not my favorite. I'll
at least say that. Late last night there's quite a few cars that came through doing some donuts
and drifting and all that stuff. And while I know it's super fun, you got to be mindful there are
others here. And even to the fact that that said individual decided to collide cars with the
friends that they were with. So definitely a little unfortunate. Glad we weren't involved. But
for those of you looking to venture up here in the winter, might be something to be mindful of.
Which is why we're tucked as far close to that snowbank wall as you can be. But regardless the
views here are amazing. On a clear day you can see Mount Hood which is spectacular. It's been coming
and going with the clouds this afternoon and evening. But looking forward to it. Another winter
camp. We'll see if the snow decides to fall again tonight. And should be a good one. Oh and for those
wondering, yes you can camp here legally overnight. It's totally fine. You just need to make sure you
get yourself a winter snow park permit. Which is super cheap. I picked mine up online. Or you can
visit any like outdoor stores like REI or whatnot. So it's really nice in that fashion.
And then extra side note, service here is a little rough as far as cell service. So if you are
wanting to hang out and browse work, stream movie whatnot, Starlink will be your best friend. Which
is what we actually have set up right inside the truck. So essentially to keep it hidden,
we have the power cable coming out of the exterior port of the camper.
Kind of tucks into the truck bed side to keep the cabling up. I ran it through the back here.
And then it goes into the back seat. A little hard to see. But that routes to the front.
All the cables right in there. And then there's the Starlink Mini. It actually works pretty darn
good. Because it filters it from folks wanting to take off and run with it. But also keeps it out
of the elements for the most part. Even though it is weatherproof and waterproof and all that.
But this direction is also really good for a clear sky and whatnot. So we'll be able to have
some good wi-fi. All right so tonight we're keeping it super easy. We have the Kevin's
natural foods of the orange chicken. Shelby picked this one up. Should be pretty good.
We're gonna pair that with the Trader Joe's veggie fried rice. These are amazing. They're just
literally heat and eat. Can't beat it. Both of these are. And it's perfect because that means
minimal dishes and minimal prep. I love it. Especially on a cold night. I wish we had ice
cream. I think we do. There might be horticones in the freezer. There are? There might be.
Don't say that and then there's not. To be determined. Damn I really want ice cream.
It does sound pretty good. And some salt and straw. Just drive into town quick.
You just eat dinner, door dash, salt and straw.
What do you think Bailey? She's like whatever. Whatever.
Movie night.
So we got a projector screen that goes on the back wall. And then basically some paper clips
that goes onto this harder plastic or whatever. And that just clips right onto there and creates
a nice little screen. Gymnastic though getting it all situated. I just lay over here in the bed
nice and cozy. You think you could maybe make me some popcorn? Oh no it's cold and fogged up.
Well Lumi still has a fixation with cables and cords. So we have to put a little cover on it.
Because we found out in the middle of the night she'll chew right through it. Bad baby Lumi.
Oh no I don't know if my sound box is charged. Don't need the sound we can just watch it in
silence. Oh no. All right so here's what we got going. We got the projector. We got that
power cable coming out. Going into our inverter to power it. The inverter's tucked inside that
cabinet. We have an HDMI to USB-C. And then we're going to be basically using the phone to do
all the shows and whatnot. And then for audio we have the phone Bluetooth to this
wireless speaker. So it's a lot going on. I'm sure there's simpler processes but it works.
And then what's nice is that this stand collapses down and then has a little ball swivel as well
to perfectly level it out. And then we can adjust the height shorter or taller. So then that way
when we're laying in bed the actual projector isn't in the way. And it'll cast right there
once we turn it on. Okay where are we now? Got the VRI for a death patient central 12.
Still waiting on page for baby Jane Dow. Central 6 is sitting pretty with his insulin drip and
the Westbridge Diversion. They're kindly waiting their turn to sit for hours in our lovely home.
You are some kind of savant. Worthy of a rent.
Well all right folks it is the start of another beautiful day. And the weather is looking
fantastic. Still very cold this morning. I think it's about a feels like 12 actually. But Mount
Hood is standing tall with the morning sunrise colors and it looks amazing. So
I'm actually going to go ahead and just end the video here and get up on the hill and do some
more riding. But appreciate you guys watching and joining along on this little quick impromptu video.
It was fun and hopefully we can do some more here in the near future. But
as always guys appreciate your support. See you on the next one. Cheers!
