Have you been laid off?
You're 10!
Are you unemployed?
I'm giving you the X!
Because of current world events, which I'm not going to mention, you may have lost your
only source of income.
They dared you!
In today's video, I will share with you 10 ways to earn income during these unprecedented
times.
If you want to make more money as soon as possible, make sure you watch this video till
the end.
In my last video, I shared with you 10 different ways to save money during these unprecedented
times.
If you haven't seen it yet, I'll leave a link to the video in the video description
below.
You never know when you'll find your next job, so hopefully you have an emergency fund
to help you get through these hard times.
If you don't, you will find it harder to get by.
You need to reduce your spending and save as much as possible, but you can only save
so much.
You still have rent or mortgage payment, heat and light to keep on, and groceries to buy,
so you'll need some kind of income.
There's many different ways to earn income at home, and all you need is a computer and
internet connection.
But the majority of these ways takes time to build, and right now, you don't have
the time.
You need more income, and you need it now.
So this list will only cover ways to earn income as soon as possible.
With that being said, let's jump into the lists.
1.
EI or CERB Unemployment Insurance or the Canada Emergency Response Benefit
If you lost your job at no fault of your own, or not receiving any hours, if you have enough
insurable hours, you may qualify for EI.
If you don't have enough hours, you may qualify for CERB.
I'll leave a link in the video description below on the latest info on CERB, so you can
check there to see if you qualify.
Also, if you receive GHT or child care benefits, you will receive an increase in payment.
If you don't qualify for EI or CERB, you'll need to do number 2 on this list.
2.
Get a Job as an Essential Worker Although many places are closed down, there
is essential work to be done.
Places like Walmart, Costco, and grocery stores are hiring to keep up with the increase
of shoppers.
Pet stores, liquor stores, gas stations, vehicle repair, hardware stores, pharmacies are all
still open.
Restaurant and fast food places are still open for delivery or takeout.
And manufacturing and production warehouses, security, and maintenance and cleaning companies
are all still open.
There's many places open for business and are hiring.
Employees may be off because they're sick or taking care of someone who is sick.
Or they might just be afraid to work and call in sick.
Or parents may not have a babysitter and may need to stay home.
Whatever the case is, this is your opportunity to get some hours.
3.
Taxi and Delivery Services Although demand for taxi services like Uber
and Lyft has decreased, demand for food and grocery delivery has increased.
With fuel prices this low, as a delivery driver, you can keep more money in your pocket.
And if you drive a fuel efficient car, even better.
Food delivery can be much more safer than the transportation of passengers.
So consider working with food delivery services like DoorDash, Uber Eats, Skip the Dishes,
and even call local restaurants to see if they're looking for in-house drivers.
4.
Rent Out a Room You may have lost your job, but your mortgage
or your rent is still due.
I work my ass off, but I still can't pay it though.
If you have an extra room, then you have opportunity to make extra income.
Renting out a room can help you split the cost of rent or mortgage payment.
Check out Facebook Marketplace or other local classified ads to see how much a room like
yours go for and place an ad.
Renting out your room may not be ideal for some people, but if you lost your job, you
may not have a choice.
But even if you didn't lose your job, renting out a room can help you earn more income and
save more money.
5.
PetSitter If you lost your job, you have all this free
time on your hands, why not earn some extra income with the Rover app?
You can make money by boarding pets, house sitting, drop-ins, daycare, and dog walking.
You can set your own schedule and pricing and offer any combination of pet care.
You can also set the size, age, and other pet preferences that you want to work with.
If you don't want to go through Rover.com, you can also post on local classified ads.
Also, if you are good with children, you can try babysitting.
6.
Sell Unwanted Goods Use apps like Facebook Marketplace or Kijiji
to sell unwanted goods.
This can be anything from clothes, electronics, baby items, fitness equipment, bikes, tires,
anything really.
Be aware that some items like cell phones and laptops will lose more value the older
they get, so it's best to sell these items as soon as you replace them.
You can also try to sell things on local classified ads that might get more traffic.
These sites are a great place to buy things for cheap.
You can also make money on these sites by buying things that are undervalued and selling
them for higher for a profit.
My favorite things to buy and resell are weights and dumbbells and tires and rims.
But you want to resell items you are familiar with, for example gold and silver, cars, phones
or laptops.
Most of these ways to earn extra income that I already mentioned involve some form of human
contact.
Because of the current world situation, you may be better off working from home with no
human contact.
So, the last 4 ways on this list can be done from the comfort of your own home.
But before I get into that, can I get you to hit the like button and share this video
so more people will see it.
7.
Become a Subtitler, Captioner or Translator
On sites like Rev.com, you can make money converting audio or video to text, capturing
videos or translating audio and video with foreign subtitles.
Another site to check out would be waywithwords.net where they offer freelancing or full time
services.
There's many different websites out there offering freelancing of captioners and translators.
Just do a bit of digging and you'll find a bunch.
So if you are a fast typer or bonus speak a different language, check out transcription
sites where you can work from the comfort of your own home.
8.
Tutoring.
There's many sites available for tutoring like firsttutors.com where you can either
tutor children or high school students.
You can also teach kids English with sites like vipkid.com or qkids.net.
You can even make your own classified ads or check to see local schools if you are looking
for tutors.
You can use apps like Skype or Zoom to tutor from the comfort of your own home.
9.
Customer Service.
Because of the current world situation, customers all over Canada are hiring more and more customer
service reps.
Check out sites like Jobs Indeed, LinkedIn, or Workopolis for listings in customer service.
Or you can even call companies that you may be familiar with to see if they are hiring.
For the most part, all you need is a computer with an internet connection and a phone.
And if you worked in any kind of retail job, you have experience in customer service.
This job is perfect for anyone that has good customer service skills and wants to work
from home.
10.
Freelancing.
For those who don't know, a freelancer is someone that works for themselves.
They are not necessarily committed to a particular employer long term.
They take contract work from companies and organizations.
And as a freelancer, it's possible to do several jobs at the same time.
Freelancer gigs you can do at home include writer, marketer, coder, developer, graphic
designer, editor, translator, or consulting.
Check out websites like Fiverr.com or Upwork.com for freelancing jobs.
While most of these jobs require a certain skill or experience, you could also do jobs
that doesn't require much like proofreading, virtual assistant, data entry, content creation,
or even managing someone's emails or social media.
But if you've got an in-demand skill, you can make a full-time income freelancing.
Bonus number 11.
Do surveys.
Although the hourly rate of doing surveys is quite low, anybody can do them and they
don't require any skills.
My favorite site to do surveys is Swagbucks.com.
I'll leave a link to them in the video description below.
All in all, there's still many different ways to earn income during these unprecedented
times.
And if you lost your job, you may need to rely on one of these sources of income.
Now there's other ways to earn income at home at a time like this, but require time
to educate yourself like day trading or building an audience like affiliate marketing.
These methods are a good source of income, but might be a while before you earn some
good money.
Hopefully this list will help you find another source of income till all this blows over
and you get back on your feet.
I don't know how you did it dressed as a garbage man, but you really pulled it off in there.
