USA vs Czechia Highlights Women s World Championships 2025

Czechia need to win to qualify to join them in those second week of competition in Bangkok. Czechia get us underway with Groza serving the moment Maddie Skinner's on the ground but here comes her sister doesn't get it to ground Avery Skinner top scorer in the last match but that's a good block it's already a fast start crowd buying into what's at stake Czechia having to win and then Sarah fighting let's fly but doesn't get to ground Poulter has a look Skinner is blocked first big block it's a big one too starting how they aim to continue well what a start to this match both teams really going for it and I love when these matches start with a long rally you it's how you make sure there's consistency throughout that's a great dig by Morgan Hentz inspirational now Sarah Franklin will try to land it Barkova just pops it up and then Bankuska will try to get it down the line that's very close to the net this has to go over and it's done so Avery Skinner another chance though for Czechia what a block oh it just takes one point and then another and suddenly Belief moves from one end of the court to the other you can't fault Jeller-Owen for going for this one her first contact of the match going to be this serve very rarely used substitute interesting to see what that's about but she's got a decent touch there it's a lovely pass that justifies her inclusion straight away but who got the point looking for a strong serve the end result because Skylankova comes forward really difficult shot to make made it a clutch time for Czechia that's a tiny hit by somebody she's essentially just done to Czechia it's just to the the side of that block on the antenna side of that block well Logan Eggleston's looking to cause trouble now on as a specialist server 24-year-old outside hitter that's got Czechia playing and the block is there and that's good enough Avery Skinner just sort of come back into things at the end of this first set that's going deep but that's in that is an ace so Czechia captain on serve Stephanie Samedi what a right arm she's got I mean if it's working why not this time just between the hands of captain on serve I thought she was going to leave that Volkova block is ready so is Franklin that's gone over the net but Maddie Skinner is watching and that's going to go perfectly for a bogey you give her that chance she'll take it so Feliciano will pick up again big hit Skinner in unfamiliar territory nothing fancy just do what works hence keeps it in play Porter to Skinner and that's good enough Avery Skinner arrives and the USA can leave the court having taken the first set 26-24 characters and here we go what a great angle this is watching and arriving and even figuratively for Czechia means that they would go to the knockout stages in Bangkok next week and Slovenia would be going home with Argentina lovely wrapped around that one Avery Skinner lovely can find her enough to take the battle to the United States what a good block she's there again along with Groza incredible from Czechia this is what they were doing at the very start of set one if it caused all those problems for the Americans anything Avery Skinner can do Milenkova can do as well 15-11 Porter is there and Franklin off the net will try to put it deep and does so punctures that Czechia defense players at the moment straight under the hands of Czech Republic and you can do that all night if you like because she'll be ready pressure that was on them earlier in the match side out all sorted here's Jordan Porter balls coming thick and fast for Czechia to deal with hence flies in Porter then flies it to Franklin and bang on the money free ball for Czechia so where's this going to go Milenkova advances and the block just drops on the wrong side of the net outside hitter who's just come on and served and of the United States as the ball goes flying past on a plate she's sitting back ready for that big swing down the line oh who is that coming back and that's teed up 24-24 goes for power this time what about Maddie Skinner goes for the roll block is up but Avery Skinner is waiting Jordan Porter's there and Avery Skinner arrives oh lord just trying to find those spaces that is in that's a wonder serve from Kulasiani right Porter out of system at the moment but Franklin's not bothered Franklin my dear I'll just put it in the goal up two sets to zero and with a two-point brace going deep Avery Skinner but a chance here now on the slide still won't go down and here's another free ball for the United States that's how you do a slide Porter in terms of competition matches lost four of the last five only win was that scrambled five set against Slovenia Dana Reckley loved that one didn't she cementing their place as the pool winners in pool D that wasn't the best pass though from Avery Skinner but what can she manage now there's a double block and as that landed on the line do you know what it has he said over thought it was getting through the block is there oh and Sarah Franklin knows now what it's like to be blocked because textbook in the knockout stages the round of 16 next week their first game will be on the Monday cross court lovely Franklin no mistakes just see at home that's good that's what's called for for the United States hence we'll post that high and then somebody will try to finish off the block she's up oh and hence throwing herself to try to keep that in play but the sun is out and Jordan Poulter serving for the match and that was a backcourt attack infringement by Czechia and that means the United States have done it
