Hi you both know Spanish football very well so I’d really appreciate it if you could both reply
I was thinking of starting with you Fridolina given the Barcelona players who are here
What does it mean to anticipate the Spanish resistance you have and what will be the absolute key to that
Sweden I'm sure everyone in this room knows how they play very pass-oriented
It's a team that when they don't have the ball wants to win it back very quickly
So many skilled players out there who can make a difference so we need to be extremely careful
meticulous in our defensive play above all
Being compact will be key for us We're
aggressive and in attack we're also courageous
Carry out the actions we discussed and above all perhaps in the transition game
I agree We're facing Spain who are very well-positioned highly technical and skilled
law So when we play against them beforehand and
understand their strengths and of course as it says
It's a positioned formation but it will also open up
spaces during transitions so we have match plans ready
We are strong and feel ready for tomorrow
Click on yourself The advantage
What do you say Barcelona
White Hair Jenny Hermosa
She was at the press conference earlier
I just wanted to share a few thoughts on her
strongest qualities and obviously she had a tough end
to her time at Barcelona How impressed you've been with her throughout the tournament
I think she's been great for them She's an important player
a technically skilled one and also
extremely dangerous in front of goal
I think these are the things we need to be careful about with her
An amazing football player
Question to Kosovo: Are you slacking off You've played in so many
semifinals even several finals How
does it feel to face something like this
I suspect that early in one's career one tends to believe many matches will come
Maybe still sense that there won't be many more semifinals Finalists then
How does it feel to step into a match like this especially with all this
Take this gold you've been chasing for so long
It's clear that experience is something we can put to good use
We've come a long way in the recent tournaments something
we carry with us But above all the way we've gotten here
That's the kind of place we've won matches in
various ways and it shows the depth we possess
Even though the matches can look different in the end the most
important result is experience—I think that's what really matters
could become a key player tomorrow
But right now personally
You're incredibly energized and on edge and you can't help but look forward to it
Unbelievable I'm really looking forward to the match
For me personally it's all about embracing this calm and enjoying the moment
Available for the next evening
Did you realize there was some luck involved
Of course there was
Is it possible next evening
Helo Sara Guterred from Spanish National Radio to Fridå
Guests are arriving
Today we have time A
girl has been stolen there
She was talking with you during the World
Cup I don’t know if you’ve spoken today
or yesterday or
what you discussed—your feelings and everything Thank you very much
Yes that's correct We've been in touch She 's
a good friend of mine and an outstanding
football player So yes we've been
discussing various situations during the
ournament and sending messages after the games to congratulate and stuff like
that So nothing nothing special More about
the tournament and how it's been so far
This is Cosimo Soro from the Atlantic with a question for both of you actually
What does it say about your team that the top goal scorer right now just happens to be a center-back
And what does it say about your overall execution of set pieces that
she’s managed to get on the scoreboard She does it so often
I think set pieces are one of our greatest strengths and
something we're actively working on—Amanda is really focused on it
Amazing but we have so many players who are truly talented in this area That’s
definitely a strength we possess Of course we put in
a lot of work to develop it
Ultimately I don't think anyone cares who tops the goal-
scoring charts the only thing that matters is winning games
But obviously it's incredible that Amanda is scoring so many goals from our set pieces which is our strength
I'm Ben McKay from the Australian Associated Press I was actually
going to ask something similar so
just let me talk to you for a minute
Is it ironic that she might win the golden boot despite not scoring many goals for her club
I mean obviously it plays to her strengths but is there any banter about that
Funny I'm not sure but I don't think so many people expected her to be our team's top scorer
She's an incredible player and truly deserves this And
we all know how exceptional she is at hitting the ball
And yes set pieces—just as Kosta said they're one of our strengths
I'm not surprised but I'm also genuinely happy for her—she's an incredible player
Japan whom we faced in the quarterfinals and Spain do share some similarities in their playing style
Highly possession-oriented very short-passing play
But what differences do you see between the Spanish team and the Japanese team
I'd say we've touched on how Japan and the U S
are almost like a single combination while Spain is the blend of the two
I'd say Spain is more aggressive than Japan
We'll need to prepare for that as they're extremely aggressive and determined to regain possession
We must stand firm and confident
There we need to be prepared
Question for Kosse
You've been extremely successful ever since Peter took over in 2017 haven't you
mentioned you at the press conference after the meeting with Japan here and said he saw himself in you as
player and meant that you're skilled at making decisions on the field and also that you
maybe you don't want a coach who yells from the sidelines but you're content with him just sitting there
Lying back in place perfectly positioned
But how would you describe the role you now have under Peter and what it has
What exactly do you mean by him taking over
Peter has meant immeasurably much to me personally and in my career especially
e national team I'd say the role he immediately assigned me when he took over was a role
where he entrusted me with incredible responsibility and immediately placed me in the role of
I also love playing in an attacking midfield role of course
What I particularly admire about Peter is his leadership qualities
He likes to delegate hand out responsibility and wants us to make our own decisions and take ownership
That's how I feel he leads— not just plays but embodies the entire leadership
also It's the kind of leadership
I appreciate—leading by example so
when I think he's done an incredible amount for Swede
The national team It also presents facts showing how far we've come in all the tours that have been undertaken
And in football terms he wants to play bold courageous football on the pitch showing immense confidence
And we love it
Here I stand ready to add my contribution
Yes yes the site is special After reading
it Peter said quite a bit of nonsense
Bumblebees in terms of the part with Japan's position game
Should I suddenly mention that you shouldn't expect Japan to give you that much of the ball so quickly
I wonder about your ability to quickly adapt to the situation from that game where you truly took control
Extremely fast giving you confidence in how you see Spain
Maybe they have a big positional game
Maybe not but you'll be ready to adapt
I think he meant "scrapping" and not "
Bumblebees " First of all But yes I think so
That we are a team that adapts to the game while
simultaneously striving to maintain our identity throughout
But the way we've encountered the game has been different in various respects and that is a
We felt Japan was a truly technical football team
so we didn't want to give them much time on the ball
That's why we started playing the game—together everyone went out and did it
No but I believe it's a strength we have—that we adapt to the playing field
We have everything we need and are fully prepared for any law
Kilda Zion here from Television New Zealand
You've been around Auckland Hamilton Wellington Melbourne
How has the journey been for you
Is it worth seeing more entertainment or does it take away from the team's focus
I have a question about how the game has
turned out How exciting is it for the team to be in the world championship final
We've had a fantastic time so far We've been as
you said to various cities and experienced things
We've been around seen a few things like how were in Wellington a month ago
I think it was three weeks which was fantastic We'
ve also been here in Auckland and it's been amazing
Everyone here has been extremely kind and helped us out with football
I've only had good things to say about New Zealand so far
What was your second question
Extremely exciting especially for tomorrow's game
We've had an amazing time here and we're not waiting around for tomorrow's game
A question for both of you You've talked extensively about how
Peter Gerritson and his team are preparing you for the game
Could you be a bit more specific What does the preparation look like
Is it all tactical What happens in the days leading up to the game
So how are you preparing for tomorrow's game
We have an
outstanding team surrounding the squad that handles
all this work with the tactics We face every team in this tour
Thus they inform us thoroughly about the other rules
So when we step out into the game we are fully prepared
So we're happy to have them because it's a
significant strength we have with the team behind the team
So I won't say much more
but I'm glad they're with us
A double question for you Fridolina Before the match
against Italy Sembrandt talked a lot about how the others
The players had asked her for advice and so on drawing on her knowledge
Now that your fellow teammates are asking you for advice on how to break through Spain
Are you worried that Spain might target you especially harshly because they know about you
That brings up a few questions
That's exactly what makes it so It's players who know it so well that all sorts of questions arise
such as defenders or goalkeepers and so on
That's how I try to help as much as I can and share
the knowledge I have with my teammates especially
Now we have the other players who also keep track of the other teammates
No I think we'really good at giving each other the right information
The men Kossy mentioned earlier we also have analysis team tha
It generates and provides us with a great deal of information ensuring solid coverage
so that insights come from every direction and edge What was the second question
Now in a completely different position I'd say they're
probably not used to seeing me in such an aggressive role so tha
I'm not entirely sure they're aware of how
I play except for the current World Championship which would probably tell them all about my skills
Holding cups just from the New Zealand Herald
Question for either of you
It's getting cold on its own
Due to Sweden's history against Spain
The construction sector has become highly active
The Swedish construction industry's obligation to build
That's the move Yes that's the favorite
So what do you think A
second you know Do you
think it'd be worth it if it got a new garden
Oh you thought you'd score a
goal That could spoil the milk
Yes to be the favorite team going in I don't know who the favorites are in this tournament
I think both of us when we reach the semifinals are just good teams So I'm not sure about that
I know they have a strong team and so do we
I think we had a really good game against Italy We didn't start out well but the end of the match was excellent
We were also extremely proud of the match against Japan the final game So I think those two matches are our best so far
Alexia you're very well informed— you've seen her dominate numerous matches in Barcelona
It hasn’t really looked that way in this World Cup perhaps due to injury concerns
How do you see her performance at the Women's World Cup so far and her role within this Spanish Women's World Cup team
That's exactly what you said She's been gone for a while because of her injury I can see she's coming back
She's getting better and better but she hasn't reached her full potential yet that's for sure
But it's great to see her improving and growing We all know what Alexia can bring to a team
It can easily turn out this way—just because people expect so much from her doesn't mean she can't still make a difference
I know she's there for her team when they need her most so we need to be careful and keep a close eye on her
