Looking for a dress that fits every body type perfectly?
Today, we are drafting this sophisticated wrap bodice design with a graceful aligned silhouette.
It's the ultimate secret to looking effortlessly elegant at any event.
Let's dive into the pattern.
Okay, this time, I will start the tutorial by drafting the back pattern first.
My dear friends, there is a technical detail regarding the closure of this garment.
Depending on your comfort, you can design the zipper either in the center back or along the
side seam. Both methods are perfectly professional for this dress, and the choice depends on your
preference for ease of wear. Now, you have two choices for the back dart. You can sew this dart
directly on the garment to define the waistline. Or, like me, you can transfer it to the side seam
to keep the fabric's appearance at the back perfectly seamless and professional.
Guys, a professional tailor is known by the organization of their patterns.
So, don't forget to write all the details on each piece right away.
Make sure to mark the grainline accurately so you don't get confused during layout and cutting,
ensuring everything turns out perfect. This way, you can be confident that your work follows the
right principles while you cut. My talented friends, one very important point. I always put
all the useful information you need in the description. Things like the best fabrics for
each season, which occasions the dress is suited for, and even links to essential tutorial videos.
So, creative tailors, make sure to check the description. To give me more energy to create

So,
creative minds, the best way to get the dress length exactly how you want it is to measure
it on the person's body. But to make things easier for you, I always put the standard dress
and sleeve lengths for the model in the description. So, my fellow designers,
don't forget to check there to get the right measurements.
So,
guys, since this neckline is quite deep, I will close a 0.7 millimeters dart here to ensure a
perfect fit without any gaping. If the neckline needs adjustment after closing the dart, I will
redraw it to keep the line perfectly smooth and clean. My talented friends, now it is time to
draft the neckline breakline. First, let me explain that the breakline is exactly where the collar
folds back. Since we are designing a shawl collar, this line is crucial as it defines the collar's
main shape. So, be precise in drafting it to ensure the collar sets exactly as intended.
To start, extend the shoulder line slightly. Mark a point at 2 centimeters on this line.
Now, connect this 2-centimeter mark to your neckline depth. In fact, the width of our collar
is determined by this line. Now, place the back pattern's neck corner exactly on the front neck
corner. Position the square ruler so its base sits on the front shoulder line with the back
shoulder and at a 6-centimeter distance from the 90-degree angle. Now, copy the CB line and the
back neckline curve. Then, you can set the back pattern aside. Now, notice the model. As you can
see, the collar width extends to the midpoint of the shoulder line at the top. In this part,
it gradually becomes narrower and finer towards the bottom. In the next step, when drafting the
shawl curve, be sure to incorporate this width variation to ensure the final shape matches the
original design. Now, to start the main design, I first draft the collar on the main bodice pattern.
At this stage, once the collar has found its proper shape, I fold the paper along the roll line.
In the next step, if the design lines are visible through the paper, I simply trace them. If not,
use a tracing hool like I do to mark the lines so they transfer to the other side.
Finally, unfold the pattern and darken the traced marks to complete the collar design.
Now, we need to mark the break line on the CB line. In this part, mark 3 centimeters for the
break line. In the next step, draft the break line so the collar shape at the back of the neck
is clearly defined. Now, an important point, since this garment needs to be lined,
I prefer to cut this part from the main fabric for the facing instead of using a separate piece.
In this part, if you wish to have a separate facing, first mark for 2.6 centimeters on the
shoulder line. In the next step, draft and definitely copy the facing based on this
measurement to avoid any issues during sewing.
the gap that should exist in this area is between 3 to 5 centimeters.
In this part, to give the skirt a beautiful drape and shape, we create a space between 10
to 17 centimeters. Now, for the sleeve, first measure the armhole circumference on both the
front and back patterns. In this part, you must control the sleeve cap according to the sleeve
drafting tutorials I previously gave you. In the next step, since my sleeve is slightly short,
I will mark this amount directly on the sleeve cap and redraw it. Finally, this method adjusts
the armhole measurement without changing the bicep width. Then, I mark the sleeve length.
In this part, I measure the wrist circumference based on exactly where the sleeve length was
marked on the arm. In the next step, I apply this measurement to the pattern to ensure the
sleeve cap fits the hand perfectly. I am so happy you stayed with me until this moment and that we
finished this attractive pattern together. Seeing the results of these precise designs truly gives
me a great feeling and I hope you enjoyed it just as much. Now, so I can continue this path with
