Alysa Liu Refused CCP s 23M While Eileen Gu Became World s Highest Paid Athlete Why

"Recently, two Chinese American athletes — Alysa Liu and Eileen Gu — have become the most talked-about competitors at the Milan 2026 Winter Olympics.
Alysa Liu (Liu Meixian) won the gold medal in figure skating for Team USA at the Milan 2026 Olympics. Meanwhile, Eileen Gu (Gu Ailing) claimed the silver medal in women’s freestyle skiing slopestyle, representing Team China.
However, in the United States, Alysa Liu is celebrated as a patriot, while Eileen Gu has been labeled a traitor.
The two share many similarities: both are exceptionally talented young women, both are of Chinese heritage, and both grew up in single-parent households. Eileen Gu was raised by her mother, while Alysa Liu was raised by her father.
At one point, their lives seemed to run in parallel. Yet, because they made different choices, their paths ultimately diverged in completely different directions.
