Three Cabins, One Idea: A Smarter Way to Live Small in the Woods | Kaggeboda House
Kaggeboda House is a 62-square-meter summer retreat in Norrtälje, Sweden, designed by AndrénFogelström Kaggeboda and KolmanBoye as a composition of three small, black-clad volumes arranged around a shared wooden deck. Rather than functioning as a single enclosed cabin, the project separates living, sleeping, and support spaces into distinct structures, encouraging daily movement through the surrounding forest landscape. While the exterior is defined by dark phenol-coated plywood that blends with the wooded setting, the interiors contrast with light birch plywood surfaces that create warmth and reflect natural light. The result is a compact yet spatially rich dwelling that explores how small-scale architecture can strengthen the relationship between built form and nature.
