What's up, everyone?
We are heading out to do a wedding today for Chris and Karen.
And actually, Chris is a actual DJ as well.
So it's pretty cool to be the DJ for another DJ today.
Pretty simple set up.
Just reception on Marcellus
has a way bigger wedding today, but yeah, we're going to go on the road.
See you.
Do I know where I'm going?
Well, we're on site here.
Fields at Skycrest.
This is a it's impressive when you drive out here.
This venue is phenomenal looking from the outside.
It's probably great on the inside as well, but from a distance
like like driving in here, there's not much.
And then you get up on this top of this hill and this beautiful venue just emerges.
And I guess the guys are figuring out how to load in.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
And we go in here and we're set up over there on either side of the
that main door.
Check it, check it, check it.
I think I showed a little bit of the inside, but interesting.
We get to set up in front of a door,
so we're just going to leave adequate spacing between the door,
but we get to be nice centered in front of a door cocktail out there.
Dancing reception here
and ceremonies actually out here.
Like I mentioned, Chris is a DJ.
Looks like he brought his truck and trailer.
I don't know what he brought, but other than the ceremony,
but we're using his up lights, too.
But nice little truck and trailer combos
right there between my Tacoma and his frontier. Beautiful.
But yeah, guys, the weather is a little a little bit shady out here,
but for the most part, everything is inside.
There's like a nice pavilion area that they're doing the ceremony,
and that is also the backup location for cocktail in case it does begin to rain.
So hopeful that doesn't happen, but we're going to have a good time tonight.
I am extremely excited because I love DJing for other DJs
and for clients that just want to party,
because literally when it comes to prepping for this wedding,
basically, Chris said, I trust you do your thing.
Can't beat it.
I literally had to prep like six songs, but, you know,
I did do a lot of digging, a lot of research into what I want to play.
I talked a lot about artists with him and his soon to be wife, Karen.
So it's going to be a good time.
It's going to be a good time.
We also got the new
insta insta 360 X5 tonight.
So we're going to try that out and see if we can get some cool dancing shots.
Probably not going to post them in this video
unless Maya does some cool editing on that.
But more than likely, they're just going to end up on Instagram.
So anyways,
I'm going to get these boys working on setting up all this.
Ceremony is going on right there.
We're all changed up, ready to go.
Let's go through the setup. Let's go for the setup.
Let's see what we all got today.
Rocking for this wedding.
First off, the biggest thing, of course, we have up lighting around the room.
These are not our up lights.
They're actually the Rockville wedges.
These are Chris's, our groom's up lighting.
And we mixed in 12 chroma cans as well.
Like I told you guys before, I like just I just bring 12 chroma cans.
Now they add a little splash of color around the room.
Pretty dope.
We have four of the both lighting 360 tubes
on the bun quad pods.
Pretty dope.
And then we just have the reception set up.
So we got Burfa as always.
Rain 12s, S7, both lighting USA
running on the sound switch for the 4.0 file.
No more tubes.
We got the RCFs.
These are the AX 15 subs.
Love these things.
And the NX 14, NXL 14 tops.
This combo, guys, is literally
like the LD Systems Maui 44s, but on steroids.
I'm loving this combo.
This combo is super dope.
Those 15 inch subs hit really hard.
I kind of wish I had the 18s, to be honest, just to have a little bit more headroom.
But the 15s do bump incredibly hard.
The 18s just go a little bit lower.
So maybe future.
But those tops, those tops are plenty.
Behind, we got Blake doing something on a laptop.
School related, probably.
You know, he's still in high school.
So we've got the audio board down here.
The Allen & Heath CQ12 running all of our stuff.
We have two Audio-Technica mics.
We have a Drive Rack PA2 and yeah, showing 119 on the voltage.
Beautiful.
Got our cable towed, everything rocking.
Yeah, got our cold brew ready to go.
Keep us hydrated.
Ready to go.
CO2 tank in the standard container thing that holds it for safety.
That's required by law, whatever thing.
Yeah. And the boflighting.
That is the boflighting CO2 gun with the LED.
Boom. LED cannon.
Going to be epic for later on.
Yeah. Skycrest is I'm loving this venue.
This venue is beautiful.
Very epic cocktail space.
They have this big wood burning fireplace that's branded for their venue.
It's pretty sick.
But we just have the LD systems, any tent out here
and a Jackery to keep my laptop charged.
Just like this thing, because it has a it has one microphone built into it.
I will say this thing has not been showing well to the test of time,
but we also never bought a case for it.
We have now broken the latch.
So there's a latch on top that holds the microphones.
We broke that. We broke the handle.
We broke the tripod like we broke a lot on it.
But again, we don't have a cover or a case for it.
So it's probably just our negligence.
And we don't we're not kind to our gear, to be honest.
But yeah, that's the setup.
Let's go. Let's go check on the ceremony.
And we're gonna be rocking it later on. Here we go.
Put your hands together and make some noise.
Because we need a boflighting.
If you guys are in this room,
this is because you're special to us and we love you for being here.
We thank you for being here.
From the bottom of our hearts.
Y'all ready to party?
DJ.
All saw potentially, probably
malfunctions happen.
Laptop completely crashed.
What?
My computer just crashed on me.
This is crazy right now.
This is crazy.
I'm walking out.
No music.
Yes, ma'am.
Look at the mic while you're
working as an editor.
So I'm on the Spotify update.
It just came out like two days ago or this week, and I upgraded Spotify
and I was actually using it to pull a couple of songs up that I didn't have.
Yeah, should have known better than to trust the newest update
without actually practicing with it.
But yeah, so Serato Spotify update crashed mine.
I have an HP, whatever.
But anyways, you know, quickly Bluetooth to some music from the phone
and got the computer restarted back up and running and
literally like I think for four minutes, that's all it was.
It's a panic performance.
But, you know, if it's going to happen at anybody's wedding,
it sucks that it's at their wedding.
But, you know, Chris is a DJ, so he understands, you know,
been there, done that sucks.
I haven't had a laptop crash on me in four years.
Like maybe two years.
Whatever. Whenever I had my last laptop, that was the last time
I had a laptop crash on me.
And this laptop is not old.
I literally just got this laptop last year, so it's definitely not the laptop.
Probably something to do with the update.
But, you know, I'll revert back to the old version of Serato.
Get some practice in before next week's wedding.
It'll be good to go.
But epic party.
Fun stuff.
Chris is over there.
Karen's over there.
And we're going to break down, go break down.
And that's it.
Final walkthrough.
Place looks clear.
I'm good to go. Got the camera.
Camera is always the last thing I take,
and it always reminds me to make sure I do a last once over.
So that's the gig.
Chris and Karen in the books, married as always.
It's been amazing.
Let's see Blake try to figure out that you should put the strap
on the same level as the strap on the other side.
Put it on the bottom.
Do you know how to do the strap?
Oh, Blake's learning.
Blake's learning how to use a ratchet strap, people.
Watch out.
You got this, Jeremiah.
You got this.
Just don't break anything.
That's all.
That's all, folks.
Blake, what do you think?
How was it? How was it?
That was fun. Very fun wedding.
Pack up is, no.
I swear I could rewind to a clip of the same time I asked him.
He's like, it was fun.
Oh, that's how I **** my back.
Other arm.
Careful. I know you're getting old.
Getting old, yeah, getting old.
That kid's like 17, younging.
I'm 30 now.
I know y'all there watching, and some of y'all are like 30 plus
and 40 and 50, but you know, I'm getting up there.
Getting up there. You got to maintain.
I got to go to the chiropractor every month now.
Thank you, guys. Thank you, Chris.
Thank you, Karen.
Thank you guys so much for having me.
It's truly an honor to DJ for another DJ, and I appreciate it.
So awesome party.
Epic party.
Did I mention it's a Sunday?
That party happened on a Sunday.
That's pretty crazy for a Sunday.
Anyways, we're going to go on the road back to Greensboro about an hour, hour 30.
And yeah, thank you guys so much for liking.
Be sure to like, comment, subscribe if you're not already subscribed.
I don't know why you're not subscribed.
Like, comment down below what you guys thought of the gig.
And I will see you guys in the next one.
Keep the record spinning. Peace.
