A Modern Treehouse Built for Calm, Comfort, and Longevity

Treehouse by Suzanne Hunt Architect is a 300-square-meter residence completed in 2022 in Margaret River, carefully designed to sit lightly within a dense native bushland setting. Built on a steep, tree-filled site with bushfire constraints and limited services, the home responds to its environment through fire-resistant materials, passive design strategies, and off-grid systems including rainwater harvesting and solar power. Organized along an east–west axis, the layout separates private bedroom wings from a central living hub that opens to outdoor decks and courtyards, creating a strong connection between interior spaces and the surrounding forest canopy.
